Many of us have this little beauty in our hands already (if you don’t, head out to your local bookseller or snag your copy online here), so it’s time to talk about it.

What do you think? Do you have a favorite part yet? Have you learned anything new?

My copy just came in the mail, so I will go now and take it all in.

Enjoy!

Excitement!

As if there was not enough going onthe new – SECOND – Jonas-featuring Rolling Stone is coming. It’s pretty much HERE.

Brace yourselves – non-discerning types will obviously have the reaction of “MEN?! They aren’t MEN” to the cover copy – but in my opinion the article tone is decidedly about the transitional period they are embarking on  between these two phases – and they are directly addressing this: frankly, bluntly…defiantly? It wouldn’t be the first time (…even today!) we had surprised ourselves by using this last word to describe the Jonas stand on the cultural landscape…

The online teaser piece features a couple straight-talking quotes from the Boys:

Says Kevin:

I would honestly say to anybody, if you were in a band like us, you would take advantage of those platforms too. It’s easy for people to say, ‘No, I’m a real rock & roller,’ but I think you do what you’ve got to do.

Says Joe:

Personally, I’m not in the band to say, ‘Hey, you need to respect us, take us seriously,’ because that’s kind of stupid…We’re doing it because we love it, and we don’t care what age group we attract. If they like our music, they like our music, and if they don’t, fine. We don’t need you [to] like our music.

Look at more photo shoot outtakes here, take in the breathtaking Rolling Stone Jonas Brothers Ground Zero over here – it’s got videos and extras galore.

What do you think?  Do you like the cover?!  And how do you feel about their quotes?

Let us know, below!

Finally, some coverage of the Nashville show, outside of the country music blogosphere (not that that didn’t generate some interesting journalism), courtesy of Rolling Stone Rock & Roll Daily news blog.

Apparently, driven by a desire to use a photo mashup (that’s Robbie Robertson of the Band, up there with Nicholas) that was sure to provoke the maximum consternation from their loudly stodgy rocker readership* (and my mother, who prefers Levon Helm to Robertson),  the story focuses on the Jonases’ collaborative performance of the Band’s legendary tune, “The Weight“, and mentions many of the other covers from the marvelous night.

[*Incidentally, be sure to lend your  – reasonable, supportive – voice to the fray over there…we can’t let the haters think they have the final say in these matters!]

Of course, the highlight of the short piece is hearing some of what Nick J had to say about the Ryman concert…find an excerpt, and a Big Question, after the jump!

Here’s another reason to be joyful as the year winds down…

Year-end Lists are pouring in, and Rolling Stone has continued to do the Jonas Brothers a (well-deserved) solid by respecting what they brought to the musical table this year and putting them at

Rolling Stone’s “Best of 2008: Albums of the Yearlist puts them at #40!

Besides being totally thrilled for them, I’m impressed…I haven’t heard even a fraction of the choices, but I know that there are a lot of very “credible” (whatever that means) artists keeping our guys company – which is awesome (and a big duh).

And OH – they also got a kinda surprise selection and spot on the front end of the top 100 Singles of the Year!!

What they said about the  Boys, and their favorite Jonas single, after the jump…

Ah, this is sweet.

Nick J got a chance to sit down with Elvis Costello, the object of his superfan affections, for a chat, courtesy of Rolling Stone.  (To check out the whole thing, we’ll have to buy the magazine, but I am reposting the released snippet, below.)

So pick it up, and pick up a People Magazine while you’re at it, since they have a special inset on the Boys in there, too!

Nick meets Elvis, after the jump…

A very cute vid from Rolling Stone’s “Ask A Rock Star.”  The Guys are asked to answer fan questions and there is some new great info in there! We also get to see that Kevin may think it is a little awkward to know that there are girls with pictures of him all over their walls. Awkward!

They are asked:

  • What was their favorite song to record on the new album? (Which one was funnest?)
  • What is the weirdest rumor they have heard about themselves? (Is Kevin a home wrecker?)
  • Elvis Costello or the Beatles? (Warning – Kevin gets poned on this one.)
  • Have you ever been to a tea party? (How ’bout a rockin’ tea?)
  • Why does Kevin only sing backup vocals? (Cool question, no?)
  • Pancakes or Cereal? (They give some great advice here – lol!)

Check it out after the jump to get all of their answers!
