(With apologies for the title, of course, to Detroit native and one of Ann Arbor’s favorite sons: Bob Seger.)
Brace yourselves, Revelers. Coolmom has a by-line. Our fearless leaders have graciously allowed me to occasionally post for myself. When I was given that gift I got excited about the possibility of going in-depth on something that has been kicking around this old brain recently.
I’m referring, of course, to the YouTube Channel known as Old Time Jonas. If you have taken yourself over there you have discovered what a treasure trove it is. And if not, allow me to give you an overview of some of the goodies that await you should you decided to make the trip. This, and a sampling of videos, after the jump!
If you’ve ever wondered what Nick sounded like when on Broadway, you can find out, there are clips from Annie Get Your Gun, Les Miserables, and Sound of Music. There are also several Chuck E. Cheese commercials featuring a young Nick. And speaking of commercials, the complete oeuvre of JB’s Baby Bottle Pop ad campaign is there as well.
And this channel should be a must-view for the Joe aficionado, since no one can really call themselves a member of the Dreamboat Captain’s crew without savoring such video gold as Dude, I Came to the Year 3000, The Jonas Brothers Reveal Some Unusual Secrets, The DJ Danger Rap (“Open the ‘fridge, eat a chicken”), and Joe Jonas and His Amazing Care Bear Pillow. All are available.
Available also is a dizzying array of very early TV/Radio appearances from the guys Columbia days. The KOL Radio interview in its entirety, CD USA (both quizzes), Jonas Brothers Go Shopping, Making of the Mandy Video, among others. Yuks aplenty.
For the musically inclined, Old Time Jonas cannot fail to satisfy. There is Nick singing (and explaining) Dear God both recorded and live, all 4 “Mandy” videos, videos for “American Dragon,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls”, “Kids of the Future”, and “Year 3000”. For all of us Kevin lovers, there is Kevin as a tot singing “I Am Amazed.” There are also totally hot (in a jail-bait sort of way) live performances of “Time For Me to Fly,” “6 Minutes” and All The Jonas Brothers Parade Performances.
And under the heading of Just Plain Cool, there is that jewel in the Jonas fan’s crown: A Day In the Life of the Jonas Brothers. I personally defy anyone with an ounce of discernment to watch it and not be completely charmed. I believe Mememoi put it best: “ A Day In the Life of the Jonas Brothers = ♥.”
To quote Kevin, “Check it!”
