Hardcore fans of now-defunct UK band Busted have had lots of (mostly nasty) things to say about the very-old news that the Jonas Brothers covered two of their songs on their adorable first album, It’s About Time. Now that the Boys have been banging around the British Isles, it’s come up again.
Here’s what Kevin Jonas had to say in a recent Digital Spy UK interview:
You’ve covered a couple of Busted songs: ‘What I Go To School For’ and ‘Year 3000′. How did that come about?
We’re actually good friends with James (Bourne), and we were asked about the possibility of recording these songs early in our career, so we got James in to work with us on the songs. They’d never been been released in the US. We’d never call them our songs or anything; it was just us doing our versions of the Busted songs. We’re really honoured that they’d work with us to make that happen.
Are you a Busted fan?
Of course! Their songs are great. My favourite Busted song is actually Sleeping With The Light On.
Maybe you could have a crack at that one next?
No! Well, maybe, but we’re actually loving focusing on our own music and writing all our own songs now.
OK. See, nothing to complain about!! So you should stop. Especially because, you know, GLASS HOUSES.
Goodies after the jump:
James Bourne approves! So should you.
Busted Originals (very good, very funny! but a WARNING to youngsters, these have more MATURE content):
