There’s a truly excellent sounding story on Denise Jonas in Good Housekeeping’s July issue – I’ve only read part of it and am wowed.

It has some amazing insight on the birth of the Jonas family as we know it (beginning with Denise & Kevin Sr., that is) and Mama J gets very open about some of the challenges confronting the Boys (and, apparently, the purity rings they are all too known for, according to the gossip blogs).  As typical with the famiglia Jonas, there are some grounding, relatable anecdotes thrown in for fun. [Who didn't love Kristy McNichol?!? LOL.]

It’s already clearly very well done, kudos to the writer, Amanda Robb (a freelancer who has previously written features on both parenting and abstinence pledge issues, intriguingly)!

Here’s a quick teaser vid for Katie Couric’s All Access Grammy Special which will air on CBS at 9pm EST on February 4th.

The Guys are asked about their influences, both personal and from the music industry (though they are intertwined), and who they would like to have dinner with. There is not a lot new, but I think that is awesome! Who wants an inconsistent rock star who doesn’t love his parents? Not me.

Tonight’s LTD was all about Nick’s diabetes. Those of you who have been to a show on the Burnin’ Up Tour will recognize most of it as the video that precedes Nick’s performance of “A Little Bit Longer”.

The episode, titled “Nothing’s Gonna Slow Me Down,” focuses on Nick, but features his whole family. We hear how Nick is the “Commander in Chief” of the band, but he counts on his brothers and family when things get bad, like when he received his diagnosis. We hear how he manages his carb intake and blood sugar. We get to see his Omnipod and hear how keeping his blood in check is not as easy as he makes it seem. He also talks about writing “A Little Bit Longer“. Nick narrates.

This episode made me cry. For real. The parts that got me the most were when Nick was talking about how “No one can ever really relate to how you feel,’” and when, while talking about how he dedicates “A Little Bit Longer” to anyone with a broken heart, or who is having a hard time, he feels a connection with the audience that says “I’m here for you, you’re here for me. Let’s sing.” Having experienced that first hand myself I can say it is a very powerful moment (cue the sobbing tweens – and not so tweens).

I won’t reiterate what I said in an earlier post about Nick, but long story short, I think he is amazing.

Tonight’s 20/20 interview with the Jonas family was nothing ground breaking. For a superfan, like myself, it could even be considered a little boring (with a couple of exceptions I will outline below). This was a segment clearly for the wholly uninitiated, and taken in that regard I give it a C.

The presentation of the information (we all know so well – Nick as the musician from birth, Joe as the reluctant singer, Broadway, commercials, prayer, purity rings. Kevin=extrovert, Joe=comedian, Nick=subdued musical master) was about as vanilla as you can get, and a little stale. Brought out were those terms we have grown tired of hearing in reference to the JB, such as “adolescent girls” and “boyband” (sigh). They compared them to The Monkees, The Osmonds, and The Beatles.

It was nothing new, and the Guys were really not able to show off their personalities well. I find this frustrating, because I am sure that means there are a bunch of people out there saying “I still have no idea what these silly girls see in these boys.”

But as with all things Jonas-related, I look for the silver lining. Here is what I liked about the 20/20 segment.

• We get to see some footage of one of Kevin’s commercials! It is for some thing that apparently talks and I am sure it will be clipped and all over YouTube soon. It was very cute.
• Mr. & Mrs. Jonas talk about why they feel they are not pushy stage parents (because they do not base their self value on the success of the Boys, and the Boys push themselves).
• Mrs. Jonas is afraid that one of the Boys will be seduced by a “floozy” (that is why she is on the road with them, she says).
• We get to see the shower on their bus.

Other special moments include when Joe describes seeing Nick’s rib cage and spine at the pool one day (after he lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks before his Diabetes diagnosis) and being “scared to death.”  And Nick being told, when he revealed that he (along with his brothers) would have a co-producer credit on Demi Lovato’s upcoming album, “A producer at 15? You still go to the pediatrician, young man.” Whatever the heck that is supposed to mean.

Kudos to the Boys also for not talking about their love lives or their purity rings.

So, I give it a resounding “meh” and am swiftly moving on.

Everyone feels under the weather now and again, even rock stars. In today’s LTD we learn how one sniffle can be heard across the whole band and how the stress of being on the road makes everyone have to take extra care to stay healthy.

The episode, entitled “Health Kick” shows us the reality of being sick and tired while on tour. First Nick gets a cold, and then Kevin, then we have doctors, nutritionists, and eventually personal trainers. But it is hard staying healthy and eating a balanced diet, especially with Kevin’s aversion to fruit and no one wanting to work out with Joe. Joe seems takes the message most to heart and fully embraces his new favorite healthy snack of apples and OPB.  Joe Narrates.

Great show, loud crowd, the law, hometowns, friends, mom, and golf. Sounds like a perfect couple of days!

Hope you are all doing well. We are so excited. We are taking today off to golf and relax with friends.

Yesterday we had a great concert in Dallas, Texas. The crowd was amazing. We met the Attorney General of the State of Texas, saw friends we have known since we were small, had a great radio interview with our friends at KISS in DALLAS, and had one really great show.

Demi was in her home town for this stop of the tour and she did an amazing job. She blew people away with all of her abilities (she plays piano, guitar and sings!!)

The crowd is Dallas was one of the loudest yet. There was one moment in the show where we had to wait for such a long time to start singing again because the crowd was so excited. Our Mom was able to see the show for the first time and said that it blew her away. She said the most amazing part of the show was the flips and light show.

Aurgh! MY EYES! OK, well I guess we know all about the flips and the lasers now. LOL. If Denise likes them I am sure I will too.

This week’s episode of LTD is all about Mom and Dad Jonas.

The episode titled “Our Mom and Dad” gives us a glimpse of family life on the road with the Jonases. We learn a little about Denise and Kevin’s singing careers and how they instilled the love of music in their boys (thank you!). We get to see how Mama Jonas keeps things homey, tidy, and under control on the bus and how Papa Jonas manages and coaches the Guys (and the band) to hit the right notes every time. Joe narrates.

What a wonderful thing to be able to let your parents know how much you love and appreciate them in such a way. It is very sweet.

That’s right, today is the day to give Denise Jonas a boost and recognize her title should be Chief Awesomeness Officer, cuz heaven knows there’s more to her mothering than just the “birthing” (Kevin, dear, I’m talking to you).

But that glitch aside, they are truly great to their mom, and she deserves it. she is obviously nice, but equally obviously does not mess around. So while we may be superfans, I think we can safely say she is the Boys’ #1 fan. She has much to celebrate today. So, Happy Mother’s Day to Denise, and to all moms!
