So, we may not have cable anymore, but happily, we can stream full episodes of the Disney Channel Games from its Disney XD Channel!

Little Big Fan was thrilled, to say the least.  (As was I, because I can’t really enjoy watching it without her company – let’s just say she makes a great audience, she laughs out loud a lot and gets sucked right into the melodrama.)  Not only has she been delighted for any opportunity to see Nick do anything, anytime, but the website itself has become the go-to place for her videogame time, with all the requisite voting and cheering and rapid fire keyboard clicking, and dinnertime talk more frequently revolves around discussion of her “stamina”.

And if joining in the kooky DC Games mayhem has had some testosterone-fueled complications for our favorite Brothers, it is fair to say there has been a little carry over of the competition to our own family, where our distinct brotherly allegiances, which usually complement each other, suddenly have put us head to head.

I love the Disney Channel Games.  I love them. Like, I like them a lot.  I like the games when you race, and jump and race against each other.

I don’t think Nick and Joe are getting along though.  Because they’ve been fighting.  They all want to win but all of them can’t win.  Except Kevin.  Kevin won.  Nick must be sad because he didn’t win.

It’s not fair when you have to lose every game because you are littler.  It made me feel angry when I saw them fight. I was mad at Joe because he said mean words to Nick.  So I wasn’t liking him.  I didn’t want him to win.  But you did, Mom.  We fighted over that.  And now I want Kevin to win more than Joe.

Which, for LBF, who normally overlooks Kevin, was quite a revolutionary stand against me.  You can envision the accompanying defiant glare.  She was full-on anti-Joe for the duration of the past weekend.  She has given it some thought, though, and come around to seeing it my way…that Nick, too, can be a bit of a butt in the spirit of the Games, so there’s no need to throw any Jonas under the bus for bad behavior. So – for today – she is back to rooting for all of them, including Joe.*

*(Plus, I suspect, since obviously Nick and the Inferno’s prospects look so grim…she just wants to make sure she is backing someone with an actual chance of being the WINNAH.  Muahaha. In your face, Inferno! Cyclones FTW!)

Our smallest resident Jonas follower, aka Little Big Fan and the one who started it all, will be five years old in July. She got this shirt over the weekend (it was all I could do not to get myself this one. I refrained and tried to convince her to get it…but she had her sights set on that one).

So, LBF is arguably much more in the demographic for Camp Rock than some of us superfans who, in the aftermath, are grappling with issues of, well, exemplary movie production or the lack thereof (and an inability to dislike it anyway). I wasn’t sure how she felt about the movie; she was a little fidgety in parts while watching it and quick to point out its unacceptable dearth of Nick Jonas, but then…she has worn this t-shirt twice since purchase, couldn’t stop looking at herself in it during ballet class, and told me she was wearing it again on Friday (I’m talking her out of it).

Since she is nothing if not a vocal and opinionated person, she was happy to oblige when I asked for her review of the movie and the album. I was totally impressed with her overall assessment. Here it is pretty much verbatim (with ME speaking in parenthetical italics, like so).

I loved it. (Why?) I liked all the songs. (All?) Well…there was…I liked Joe best (but say Shane, because his name is Shane in that movie). And I know the mom of the girl…the mom on Wizards of Waverly Place. I think she was funny because she says, “That’s also MINE.” That was a funny part. (Yes, she was so good!) *CHUCKLE* And I like when Kevin says, “Can you make me a birdhouse?” – I can’t stop thinking about it, that was so funny. And I saw that when Joe got out of the car, Nick got in his seat. (Oh?) Yeah…you weren’t looking. I liked the girl who was popular. (Really?) Yeah. I liked her song. (Did you like her the best of the girls?) No, I liked Mitchie Lovato. (Ha-ha. Any of the other girls or guys?) Um. Not really.* The other favorite part was when Mitchie put on the hat and put a bunch of flour on her.

(I have to ask this…worse or better than HSM?) Better, because it has more good songs. (You’ll watch it again?) Huh? Of course. I LOVED it. (OK. Thank you, dolly.) You’re welcome.

My not-quite 5-year-old daughter (AKA “Little Big Fan”) may not be as die-hard as some of us around here, but she deserves credit as (technically) the longest term fan in our ranks. We thank her. She has requested that we recognize her status by allowing her to occasionally choose something to post. Here is her first contribution (found during a well-supervised look among some YouTube related videos).

And she would also like to pass on the messages, “WE ride bikes!” and“Niiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!!”.

Obviously, this is not their music with the video. For the record, her favorite Jonas Brothers songs, apart from the obvious biggies SOS and When You Look Me In the Eyes, are Dear God (we’re not religious, but I think that’s awesome) and Games. Yep, she’s cool like that.
