ACK – SO EXCITING!!
What we have here is further evidence of a Jonas Brothers publicity strategy on the upswing. Whoever is making the outreach decisions with the Boys these days is really starting to show a recognition of what makes these guys one of the awesomest young bands in ages. (HINT: It’s really NOT their pretty faces.)
As many of us already know, the Jonas boys got the opportunity to be guest editors for the music section of Time Out New York – a weekly magazine dedicated to helping young New Yorkers sort the wheat from the chaff among NYC goings on. It’s a pretty indispensable magazine that falls into the hands of college students (and well beyond) all over the metro area. Awesome.
So not only was this a very cool chance for them to gain some exposure with demos that largely doubt them – the resulting pieces so far released are REALLY WELL done. The tone is near perfect, I think…it is not cutting them too much slack in the areas in which they often get criticized,or fawning over them inordinately, or trying to force them to feign some esoteric attitudes that would be ridiculous given their age and station (and noted hectic schedule). But what it does do is more apt and exciting: it lets them show off their honest savvy, humility, intelligence and taste, and it leaves ample room for the uninitiated to start practicing a skill that will come in handy in future years: learning to understand and respect the real depth and potential of the Jonas Brothers.
Bonus points for the timing (and complicity?) that aligns their headline with recent rumors [JB BreakupGate 2009, anyone?].
{OH! And massive squees for Joe recommending Wilco as the concert to check out this week…considering I’m going to see them – one of my favorite bands in college – myself on this very evening! Ah, he’s PERFECT, I swoon.

There are plenty of photos and other goodies accompanying this fantastic article available at the site, HERE.
But perhaps more exciting, you can order all of the 4 cover versions (and get a poster along with it) as a special collector’s edition set, right here, right NOW!
I’ll post some favorites in the next couple of days, and then some, when I get my hard copy!
Let us know in the comments, what is your favorite bit?

I’m super excited for this magazine. I will relish the further proof that JB as always, effortlessly are what so many others wannabe.
When I read this interview I am reassured about career longevity, because it’s so crystal clear that these guys are the real deal. They don’t have to put it on because it’s all there. There is so much that is untapped and just waiting to be discovered by the savvy and discerning.
And, for the record, I am LOVING the new PR direction. It’s so WORTHY of the guys!
I have them!!! squeeeeeeeeeeee.
This is truly a special, special article for them. TONY wants them for the exact right reasons-not like Rolling Stone to sell magazines but because they picked up on the JBs love for music. Cool.
I can’t add much. I want to read it a bit. But Matisyahu, Wilco, the Stones..wow.
Cool article. Too bad there wasn’t more time…
Just wanted to say hey – I have been back for 3 days (got back Tuesday) after my 2 week trip out west. I’ve been trying to catch up on SR. So much awesomeness. I listened to books on CD on my trip and missed listening to their music.
Random thoughts – Yeah for Kevin and Danielle! So happy for them!
LOVED both episodes of JONAS. I so enjoy that show. Laughing out loud all the time.
JBCE DVD – I may have to go out and buy that.. if they have it at Wal-Mart or Target. Anyone know?
LOVED the JBTV youtube clip with Greg and John. So hilarious. Greg is gorgeous, especially in those glasses. The girl who attacked JT cracked me up, and I love Yule LeBarra (? again, no idea what his name really is) – the ping pong competitor. He is hilarious. So much joy.
Off to read Twitter.
I got my copy of the movie at Target, so they have it for sure. Great to have you back!! How was your trip?
My trip was awesome, thanks for asking.
I went to Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado (and also briefly through Idaho). The scenery was awesome and the weather was amazing (little to no humidity, unlike SC). I did get a bit worn out at the end, but we were staying at a girlfriend’s house in Denver the last few days, so we could let her do the work of driving, and we could rest a little bit. The scenery out there was amazing (we went to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce, Arches, Colorado National Monument, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Mt. Evans, and Rocky Mountain National Park.
)
how amazing!!!!! Glad you had a great time!
That sounds amazing! Welcome home.
Welcome back, Barbara!
Just bought my dvd at Wal Mart. I wish I had the money to pay for the whole collectors set! But work is stingy with the hours for the summer. =( It looks amazing though, I’m loving the amount of JB love that has popped up recently!
COUPON don’t forget your coupon for the DVD. The link is in one of our past blogs. The Blu-Ray ends up being cheapest and it includes the non-Blu Ray DVD, so it’s a great deal!
I have one in my Blu-Ray player and the other one in my regular DVD player! I’ve been working out to it every morning! Those 48 minutes fly by!
I have officially lost 25 pounds!
Good for you!
That is awesome, Son!!
congrats Sondra. that’s really great
Welcome, hooooome, Barbara!
Your trips sounds so cool.
welcome back Barbara! your trip sounds amazing!!! I hope to do that someday.
Ha ha, I couldn’t have JB Quit Music on my wall, and so many times at that.
Anyway, Matisyahu!!!!!!!!!! OMG! Can’t believe they talk about him! SO CRAZY THIS SMALL WORLD WE LIVE IN!
I only know his one song/video that was sort of a hit 2 years ago I think? and he can rap for sure. Interesting story too.
The way they are talking about him in the article it’s like they were at his concert which is cool.
btw Joe says his favorite thing to do in NY is to “check out the West Village” which is our base in NY and has caused all kinds of excitement here. My daughter is now determined to wander the streets until we find him-lol!
LOL, sounds like a good plan to me!
Love this interview. You could almost imagine their sigh of relief that they could talk about someting that really mattered to them, and not have to answer any inane questions about “who are you dating…”, etc. The general public gets to see that they have the ability to speak about things with substance…of course, we already knew : )
Thank you everyone!
Just got my mags (thanks to the fabulous merry – shout out to her!).
I am in LOVE with the Kevin Kover. Kompletely.
Kevin in button down & bow tie with adorable freckles = ♥
