I’m so glad there’s a post about this. Loved his statement…maybe I should have been prepared for him to quote ALBL but I wasn’t.
I always get such a kick out of the whole Mr President thing and it was very cool to see him in DC in action. You can just see that he brought a thrill to everyone involved.

You are so right Jan. Nick’s testimony was the most moving. Seeing such a bright, talented young person – with his whole life ahead of him and so much to offer the world – who must deal with this debilitating illness, really makes an impact.

Nick is an amazing person. He is blessed and a blessing. He lives with purpose, which is a feat many adults never achieve. He has my respect.

I am so impressed with how articulate Nick is and how wonderfully he handled himself in what must have been a stressful situation. I watched a great deal of the hearing on nickjonline. Mary Tyler Moore, Dr. Rogers (head of a national health research organization), and Sugar Ray Leonard whose father had Type 1 with many complications did a great job, also. However, I feel that Nick was the one who impressed everyone the most with his heartfelt testimony at such a young age.

Ah Nicholas. How proud your parents must be of you.

He was so commanding and poised. Such a class act. JDRF couldn’t possibly be represented more eloquently or the need for research and a cure shown more clearly than when Nick speaks about his grappling with this disease.
