You Better Bring It! [Tour]

June 23, 2009 by cpaig

worldtourweek1

Howdy!

OK, y’all, I’m gonna change the format up a bit here with tour posts. Last year I waited for a blog to post, but with the advent of twitter (etc.) we are getting more info on a daily basis. I am going to be aggregating each tour week into one (most likely progressively epic) post. We’ll see how it goes, and I will adjust format as necessary.

I will post my favorite pictures, and videos that I find for each venue, as well as compile tweet by tweets. Now…

What I need you all to do is post your favorite pics, reviews, videos, etc. – relevant to the week’s tourdates – in the comments.

We also need a little refresher on who is going to what shows  (our dear Jonas Calendar host went offline some time ago *sniffle* so we are out of sorts in that regard). We are very excited to hear about all of your experiences!

There is no ban on anything, so feel free to post what you like. We want this to be the best summer ever!

For now, let’s jump into week 1!

I’ll be at the Idaho show, and I’ll be tweeting the whole way I’m sure. I love this new idea for tour posts!!

ALSO, I got a JB meet and greet, which I am beyond excited about. So I’ll spread the SR love for sure!

    • on June 23, 2009 at 10:50 pm mememoi

      Squuuuueeee!!! :D

OMG, have so much fun, Tiff.

    • on June 24, 2009 at 1:25 am Trish

CONGRATS Tiffany!!! I’m so excited for you!! :)

    • on June 24, 2009 at 7:10 am merry27

yay Tiffany!! This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I always feel like there’s such a layer of VIPs and connected people in the front of the line for all things JB so it’s awesome to think you’re meeting them.
Can’t wait to hear all about it :)

      • on June 24, 2009 at 10:06 am Tiffany

I always felt the same way, and I was very hesitant about even entering.
Of course even this system has some flaws, But I’m so grateful to have the opportunity at all, and that I can share it with you guys!
I’ve had amazing luck with concerts this year though, I’m still amazed by my TS experience. Friday will be a day to remember. Most likely my version of those days my mom tells us about constantly from when she was younger. I hope my kids will be Jonas fans! :)

  2. on June 23, 2009 at 10:38 pm mememoi

I just got Greg’s “I’m not an R&B superstar.” Ohhhhh, snap, Garbo!

P.S. Am I disqualified from answering the Oingo Boingo question?! I love him soooooo much!

    • on June 24, 2009 at 7:51 am merry27

now that coolmom answered and I had a good google- he is very cool and of course a major talent. He is also doing the music for the Ang Lee Woodstock movie that I have high hopes for.

      • on June 24, 2009 at 8:54 am mememoi

Danny Elfman rules. He’s the voice of Jack Skellington!

  3. on June 23, 2009 at 10:43 pm thekeenanator

Lol I love following the JB band tweets. I love their competitions and quotes.
Twitter should come up with a way to organize the people you are following into groups lol.

Love this idea. Hope I can find time to contribute! The Spring Awakening National Tour hits Philly this week and I am street teaming for it. I have to be there the next three days. Should be fun…I hope. lol.

    • on June 23, 2009 at 11:15 pm cpaig

You should use Tweetdeck for twitter – it allows you to do just that!

Have fun teaming form Spring Awakening!

      • on June 24, 2009 at 12:07 pm thekeenanator

I had tweetdeck but it took up too much space on my computer. I’ll try and put it back on. Thanks!

  4. on June 23, 2009 at 10:45 pm coolmom823

As if I didn’t know? Danny Elfman, natch!!!!! 8)

    • on June 24, 2009 at 7:13 am merry27

ha! the only name I could think of was John Williams…and I kind of knew that wasn’t right.
So it’s safe to google I guess.

  5. on June 23, 2009 at 10:46 pm thekeenanator

As soon as I posted my comment I checked twitter and two great tweets came up.

    Love it!

Here’s a sweet piece from a Dad/sports writer who took his daughter to the Tulsa Show:

      Sweet!

    • on June 23, 2009 at 11:24 pm Tiffany

      I loved that article.
It really shows the true Jonas spirit.
It really is all about family.

    • on June 24, 2009 at 1:24 am Trish

      Awww! That was so adorable!

    • on June 24, 2009 at 7:25 am merry27

so, so sweet. I can totally relate to the messy room/neat JB posters cause that’s waht we have here. :)

      thanks coolmom..
I really enjoy Hannah’s tweets and blogs and videos. Such a great way to cope with it all.

  9. on June 24, 2009 at 12:19 am coolmom823

Having all the band’s tweets is so cool. They seem to be enjoying themselves so much ( of course it’s early days yet, lol, maybe they won’t be so jaunty in two months ;) ).

I will admit, it kind of makes me miss the life…

  10. on June 24, 2009 at 1:57 am lenzmom

I’ll be at the Portland show on the 27th @ the Rose Garden Arena AND I’ll be at the Tacoma show on the 28th @ the Tacoma Dome. I live between the two, so I’ll be Jonasing all weekend. @shellenz will be all a-twittering. The only other live concert of this scale I”ve ever been to was the Wiggles, so I’m not making any promises as to how my pics or vids will turn out. What a ride! WDTFTW! (I think I’m going to wear one of my SR T-shirts to the shows, but I haven’t decided which one yet.)

    • on June 24, 2009 at 7:40 am merry27

      This is a great post… as usual..thanks!
I still can’t believe the way twitter has enhanced it all. I keep trying to think of what it would have been like to get constant updates from Bruce Springsteen when I was younger and my friends and I lived for seeing him in concert. The world has changed so much!

My concerts are 7/15, New Jersey and 7/20 New York

and can you believe I actually wish they were in August because I am enjoying the anticipation so much? and of course I’ve quietly started checking airfare and stuff to their last concerts in Canada.. it’s just a pipe dream but still….

      • on June 24, 2009 at 7:43 am merry27

oops, this was supposed to go in the general comments section. Sorry lenzmom.

    • on June 24, 2009 at 7:42 am merry27

Shelly I am so excited for you!! how cool to see them twice. Seattle and Tacoma aren’t that close either, am I right??
Looking forward to hearing all about it :)

      • on June 24, 2009 at 1:46 pm lenzmom

:D I’m sooo excited, Merry! I’m still (less and less patiently) waiting for my Tacoma tickets to arrive. Actually, Tacoma is just a short (25-20 min or so) hop south of Seattle. I’ll be driving abt 45 min. to Portland and abt 2 hrs to Tacoma from home to get there.
I don’t know if my heart is strong enough for back to back Jonas, but I’m sooo anxious to give it a go! ;) You’re doing pretty much the same thing, though, right? Just a couple days separate your concerts. I totally agree with you about how Twitter has changed the scene – for the better IMHO! I’m getting all jazzed up again – work is just not my focus this week…:D

    • on June 24, 2009 at 6:26 pm lenzmom

Just got the e-mail…. Looks like I’ll be at the M&G for Jordin Sparks on Sunday! So cool! Wouldn’t it be awesome if other guys decided to drop by? Squeeee! :D

    • on June 26, 2009 at 4:07 pm lenzmom

I entered the USA (?) Pears contest for Honor Society M&G. My sister’s entry won us 2 passes to their M&G in Portland. The gal that called said the M&G was right after their performance… does that mean I’ll miss part of the show if we go? That doesn’t make a lot of sense.

  11. on June 24, 2009 at 9:54 am mollyanne

We’re headed to the July 10th Chicago show as well as the July 11th Honor Society show. We’re also headed to the July 25th show in Pittsburgh! Should be a fun adventure- cannot wait!

  12. on June 24, 2009 at 10:21 am coolmom823

      Got a long wait, too…

      Birmingham – August 16
      Atlanta – August 22
      Nashville – August 25

OMG…..I can barely contain myself. I have a countdown clock on my desktop. LOL!

    • on June 25, 2009 at 11:23 pm Sonnnn

we’ll be going at the same time – my shows are Aug 1 and Aug 19.

  14. on June 25, 2009 at 7:46 am cpaig

Wow – it is so cool hearing all of your shows (again!)

We went to Dallas (obviously), I am going to see them in Washington D.C. on July 13, and we are going to the two Philadelphia shows.

  15. on June 25, 2009 at 7:47 am cpaig

I did a preliminary update for Denver.

I will work on tweet by tweet, but I am hesitant to feature scatological humor….

I will plop up a blog if one comes through!

    • on June 25, 2009 at 8:52 am mememoi

LOL, but I think it’s our journalistic duty in the interest of completeness.

      Haha, I said “duty”!
      ;)

      • on June 25, 2009 at 10:10 am mollyanne

LOL!! OK that tweet had me rolling. At first I was shocked because it is not something you expect from Garbo. Hoffman maybe ( :) ) but not Garbo. Oh man. THank goodness for Twitter- it’s added a whole new dimension to this tour and I LOVE it. We haven’t been getting the updates from the boys that we are used to which makes me a bit sad but the band is making up for it.

    • on June 28, 2009 at 12:21 am Sonnnn

you said “plop” too! Sorry, cpaig! ;)

      • on June 28, 2009 at 7:29 am cpaig

HA – I wish I could say that was on purpose!

I am going to do the tweet by tweets tomorrow – they are SOOOO time consuming – and I had to work a double shift this week and it threw me all off.

  16. on June 25, 2009 at 8:53 am mememoi

    GREAT REVIEW from DENVER!

    http://www.denverpost.com/entertainment/ci_12684853

Have their been any worth reading from Tulsa?

    • on June 25, 2009 at 9:01 am mememoi

“In the live show, Nick is the multi-instrumentalist hero, while Joe simply has the best voice of the bunch and Kevin is the good-natured-yet-often-ignored guy. ”

All reasonably true. A thought I hope doesn’t annoy anyone: something else I noticed in Dallas is that in that humongous space, Joe’s voice carried really well and he sounded spectacular. It is funny because, even as a Joe fan who prefers Joe’s vocal quality, I tend to go with the trend of putting him in a backseat to Nick when it comes to technique and stuff…but live in concert I find him strikingly dominant in comparison. I am sure in part because he is able to put his full focus on his singing role, but I just wanted to mention that it is showing. :) I was still surprised to see a critic break it down in a way that seemed to note this, it felt unusual.

      • on June 25, 2009 at 11:18 am Mae

I’ve always felt that Joe has the most ‘listener friendly’ voice.

Something that has always kinda bugged me, in YouTube clips from the BU tour and clips from this tour that I’ve seen, is when Nick attempts to sing while drumming. That takes talent and I often feel like Nick’s voice becomes quite weak when he tries to do do so (it’s especially noticeable when Joe and Nick are trading lines back and forth). I give him credit for trying but I just don’t think he quite pulls it off yet.

        • on June 25, 2009 at 11:35 am mememoi

This is true. I am kinda rambling on this issue again at the bottom of the comments here. Even when he is not on drums, his voice is not as resonant in the arena, at times.

I would be lying if I didn’t admit to wishing occasionally that Nick would focus on writing for Joe sometimes…

Don’t get me wrong, I love Nick’s voice too, but it can def. be an acquired taste for most people, where Joe has the capacity to be astonishing & undeniably good to more ears (like you said, Mae).

At times the parts of their songs Joe gets don’t showcase his full range and capabilities…he is great but not necessarily fully realized. I think this comes out a lot esp. when he does covers, like with Sweet Caroline and a few of the numbers he did in Nashville. I am not convinced Joe would push himself to mine these opportunities on his own, so I hope our band leader considers this as much as I do, LOL.

          • on June 25, 2009 at 4:25 pm Elisa

Yeah, Joe did an amazing job with Sweet Caroline! It was just… Wow! I just watched a video of that yesterday and I was completely blown away.

But I have to say that if I had to choose between the two (voices), I would choose Nick’s. I feel like… When you listen to him sing, you feel everything that he feels, and that’s amazing. I can’t explain it better than that, sorry!

So I guess it really is just a matter of opinion… :)

Now re: playing the drums & singing at the same time – on that I agree completely!! But then again, I really love to see Nick on drums, so I’m not sure what the solution would be… :P

            • on June 25, 2009 at 7:57 pm mememoi

I loooove watching Nick on drums. I think he looks quite slick. :) And I think his voice is totes distinctive.

          • on June 25, 2009 at 11:29 pm Sonnnn

I wish they had just let Joe do the whole Sweet Caroline. I feel like sometimes Joe has to take more vocals because he doesn’t have an instrument to concentrate on and when Nick is playing AND singing, Joe is almost kind of waiting around for his vocal part to come in…

I love both of their voices – I do love Nick’s emotionality, he could do no wrong by me as we all know. :)

There are things Joe does that people question me about – the falsettos, and I was getting TONS of feedback about him being “pitchy” and “flat” last year that I DID NOT UNDERSTAND BECAUSE HE ALWAYS SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.

And I get a lot of feedback about Nick being whiny. However I think that time is just about over as his voice is much deeper now.

THey are both getting better. Simon le Bon used to sing SO BADLY live and then about 3 years into it he got a LOT better. Even Andy Taylor acknowledged it. It’s hard to do all the things on stage AND sound good singing.

What I sometimes don’t understand is WHY Nick has to do SO MUCH. And why the rest of the band lets this happen. Doesn’t seem quite right to me. I love Nick and Joe so much and so I don’t have a preference so I question this even though either way I get a boy I love.

            • on June 25, 2009 at 11:30 pm Sonnnn

oh and my defense for Nick is “hey! Some people like BOB DYLAN’s voice. Obviously some people like Nick Jonas’s.” Everyone is different! We all can’t sound like Josh Groban, KWIM?

  17. on June 25, 2009 at 9:29 am Monica

Hey, hey, hey, they are #1 on the charts!!! Yay!! Our show is July 29 in KC and I cannot wait! The stage looks spectacular. Love this post and all the tweets. Love the pic of Nick with the NJ Senator. It’s a good week in the Jonasphere!

      Yes, #1!!!

We have new posts on #1-y stuff too, if you’re interested, and the Rolling Stone too!

  18. on June 25, 2009 at 10:13 am mollyanne

Something that I found interesting that I want to share and would like everyone’s opinion on- I read the RS article on JHQ and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone so BEWARE-

    **SPOILER**

The article stated that the boys don’t even have a tour bus for this tour. They are flying on a leased private jet with just family and management from show to show, often stopping for overnights in Dallas, while their band and everyone else goes in busses.

I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I’m sure that traveling on a bus can get old and is exhausting especially when two of the boys are in relationships and probably desire privacy here and there- but it just seemed so strange, when you couple that with the fact that we aren’t getting blog updates about each show from the boys.

    Thoughts??

    • on June 25, 2009 at 10:18 am mollyanne

I don’t know, but for me it makes the whole “going to a show” thing a little different. Not any less exciting, of course! But last year we had so much fun going downtown and trying to find the boys because we knew they’d be in the city all day. Then getting to the venue early and trying to spot their bus and them. Now it seems as though they are just flying into each city for the show only then immediately leaving.

I suppose it’s too early to tell- they’ve been very busy in between shows on this tour.

Am I being too whiny about all of this? :)

      • on June 25, 2009 at 10:45 am coolmom823

I understand your viewpoint Molly and I can see that not being in the city all day and flying in and out does lessen the “folksy” aspect of JB.

However, I can’t find it in my heart to blame them. They have been doing the grind of touring (and the hard way in a van, doing their own roady-ing) since what, 2005? It’s a hard, hard life. It’s only in the past 2 years that they have had dedicated road crews and could just show up and play. Living in Dallas has afforded them the capability to be at home more often, with Mama J. and Frankie. It affords them the opportunity to unwind completely, in private away from press and fans and that pressure.

Another thing is that for Nick this has got to be a blessing. It’s got to be difficult to schlep all his paraphernalia on the road for the long haul. And he undoubtedly eats better and gets more rest this way.

I will miss the Fan decorated tour bus, but can’t honestly blame them for wanting more genuine down-time in the midst of the craziness.

        • on June 25, 2009 at 10:52 am mememoi

I think there is still a fan-decorated bus! I heard some kids talking about it in Dallas. It was never the one they traveled in, that I know of.

          • on June 25, 2009 at 10:54 am coolmom823

Way to blow my metaphor with facts mememoi! LOL!

I know that wasn’t ever their bus, but it was such a good symbol I had to use it… ;)

            • on June 25, 2009 at 11:12 am mollyanne

LOL! Good point coolmom, thank your for reminding me that they have been at it for 4 years. I can’t imagine the toll it takes on all of them especially with doing press in every city like they did last year. I can’t blame them, I just wondered what everyone’s thoughts were on the subject. :)

            • on June 25, 2009 at 11:14 am mememoi

              LOL. My bad!!

    • on June 25, 2009 at 10:36 am sharpld

That does seem odd, Molly. I have to wonder if it doesn’t have something to do with keeping them healthy? Not that the band is any less important, because they are all in this together, but I can only imagine the toll the exhaustion takes on Nick especially. I read somewhere thaty they were all sick by the end of the BU tour. They have the means to lease the jet now, where they didn’t before. It does make me quirk an eyebrow and adds a little more fuel to my Chicken Littling, though.

      • on June 25, 2009 at 10:38 am mollyanne

Good point. I never thought of it that way. But it definitely does add more fuel to your argument- I agree with you BTW. I know it’s inevitable but it still makes me sad.

      • on June 25, 2009 at 10:46 am coolmom823

Remind me, what are you thinking is going to happen to JB?

        • on June 25, 2009 at 10:55 am sharpld

On the Rolling Stone cover thread, I put on my conspiracy theorist hat and Chicken Littled a bit. I don’t think anything bad is going to happen to them, I just feel like Nick is going to move into the frontman role now that he is older and Joe and Kevin are going to stand behind him. I feel like they may take a long break in 2010 to pursue their individual interests. They are giving us a larger-than-life experience right now. I think they have been preparing us well for some quiet time for them.

          • on June 25, 2009 at 11:07 am coolmom823

You could very well be reading the writing on the wall.

If memory serves, they signed their current touring contract with Live Nation in 2007,and it was for two years of pretty solid touring. That will be done in 2010, so they may well be taking a break and redefining themselves, as a band. Nick is done with high school now, he can devote all his time to music if that’s his choice!

          • on June 25, 2009 at 11:14 am mememoi

I wouldn’t blink at them taking a break, they have really been giving us a steady stream of entertainment in various forms for a ridiculously long period of time. Practically without any kind of break. I love it but it is kind of insane – I have never experienced anything like this! If the flow stopped…I don’t see how I could complain.

In terms of Nick’s evolution as frontman, and Joe stepping back…it will be interesting to see if/how this happens.

I was feeling that happening too, with the new album material, the roles on the first single, but the concert sort of blew that out of the water for me. Nick is and always will be a solid, impressive pillar of leadership and talent that can’t be denied, but Joe is still such a huge presence physically & vocally in that live context, and the way the crowd reacts to him…a backseat for him may be difficult to maneuver even if it is what they all want – I just don’t know if it is great idea (of course this is just from my Joe-fan perspective :P …but I’d say some objective live reviews affirm it) – in my opinion, Nick is a budding genius, but Joe is still the best entertainer.

But then I know some Nick-fans might feel differently!

            • on June 25, 2009 at 11:20 am mollyanne

You’re exactly right. Oh I feel selfish for even bringing it up. I just assumed they loved being on the bus. I didn’t think about the toll it takes on their health and well-being. Sorry boys :(

I was actually hoping they would take an actual break at the end of the tour- I can’t see how they could go straight from this huge tour into something else. No way.

              • on June 25, 2009 at 11:30 am Mae

Aren’t they going straight into filming Camp Rock 2?

                • on June 25, 2009 at 11:35 am mollyanne

Well yes in Sept I think but then they have the European part of their tour and I thought they said they were going to try to do Australia in December.

                • on June 25, 2009 at 11:40 am mememoi

I am wondering how much they are going to be in Camp Rock 2, they hardly have any time to film!

Their presence was minimal last time, aside from Joe. I wouldn’t be shocked if it was more so this time – popping in at the beginning, middle and end.

In fact, I wouldn’t mind that at all.

            • on June 25, 2009 at 11:58 am sharpld

Nope, it isn’t Joe-fan specific. Joe does have the big voice and the big personality and he controls a crowd magnificently and was doing so at Nick’s age. That takes nothing away from Nick. He is a budding genius. I am reading too much into things, probably.

              • on June 25, 2009 at 12:22 pm mememoi

Oh, no I don’t think you are reading too much because there are real signs there. There are pop culture watchers who call Nick the “Justin Timberlake”, and stuff like that. It could be exactly what goes down, too. I just think it would be misguided…

            • on June 25, 2009 at 11:39 pm Sonnnn

I’m glad to hear this about Joe live!!!! (sigh of relief)

I compare NJ with JT myself – not about breaking out but about talent, sheer talent (none of the other NSYNC guys are remotely talented, so…it’s not like JB). I compare them because of where JT came from and where he has gone over 10 years in the public. I see Nick doing amazing, awesome things beyond what I can dream of musically.

Joe said on LK that being on stage is where he is most comfortable. He is NOT going to retire! I don’t know why the fangirls talk that nonsense. They are going to be doing this for years and years to come. Together. I am certain of it.

That does not rule out side projects. But they would be side projects.

The boys tell us this over and over again. Yet so many of their fans want to believe they are LYING to us!?! MY DH says it’s because they are cynical and jaded. I choose to BELIEVE our boys when they tell us what they plan to do.

      • on June 25, 2009 at 10:57 am mememoi

I just feel bad that they won’t get to have quite as much bonding fun with the band. Look at how relieved and excited they all seem to be to be “officially on tour”, in their buses for the summer. There is something very romantic about all that…

And I do hope it means more family/personal time living life, as opposed to more time for business-related stuff.

But otherwise I don’t think it takes away too much from them, in my eyes. They have paid a lot of dues, they have a lot of responsibilities.

        • on June 25, 2009 at 11:15 am mollyanne

That’s what I meant by it- the band seems SO excited to be on the bus and out on the road and between theirs and Honor Society’s tweets, it seems like they are all having a BLAST. Romantic is a good way to describe it.

          Thanks everybody :)

          • on June 25, 2009 at 11:28 am Mae

The boys traveling from date to date in a plane really struck me as interesting too Molly. I don’t even want to attempt to do the math on that expense.

Although they are losing some camaraderie with their band and everyone else on tour, I think it is great that the plane will allow them to be home in Dallas more frequently throughout the Summer, although looking at the spacing of their dates, who knows how often that will actually happen.

I also think they will have a bus as well as sometimes a bus will just make more sense over a plane – i.e. when they hitting up all the dates in the Northeast, etc.

    • on June 25, 2009 at 10:07 pm mykidsthinkimweird

I’m not sure what I read or heard them say, but I sort of knew they weren’t going to be traveling by bus.

You know, when I saw them in Charlotte on the Hannah Montana tour they flew in for the show from the Bahamas after appearing on Regis and Kelly. No chance to stalk them at their hotel. (Miley was staying at our hotel, so we did get that bit of coolness.) The tour bus life has got to get old quickly. They have reached the point in their careers and personal lives that I can’t begrudge them a little home time. (Not that taking the day off to testify in front of congress is home time!) They have given us so much of themselves.

I hope they enjoy this time, but I bet deep down they wish they were hanging with JT, Garbo, Jack, Ryan, etc. like the old days.

    • on June 25, 2009 at 11:34 pm Sonnnn

I think while there is a trade-off in hanging with their friends that they are giving up, being with their parents and going home whenever they can is the right choice. They need a “real” life as much as they can get of it. Nick is really young and he’s been out on the road for most of the last 3.5 years and pretty soon they will all be adults and not with mom and dad so much. So they should be kids and a family while they can. I think it’s very healthy for them. There’s time for friends later. They are younger than all of the people they tour with.

  19. on June 25, 2009 at 12:05 pm Trish

Can I just be a big baby and say I am going to live in denial in regards to the “taking a long break” theory?! LOL, sorry, I just don’t even want to think about it!

I know, they will completely burn out if they *don’t* break from time to time, but as many times as they have said they love making music together and will continue for a long time to come, I have to think they aren’t about to stop right now and work on their individual interests. They are seriously on top of the world right now. If they stop now, the excitement will fizzle, and they know that. Perhaps using the jet and not traveling by bus is one way to ensure they WON’T get burned out by the end of the tour? And that is a good thing!

    • on June 25, 2009 at 12:30 pm mememoi

      Oh, waah waah waah, Trish.

      LOL, just kidding!

But think of how they could slow down the pace and still give us whatever, here and there, just less frequently. That would be a big difference for them. They work so much harder than everyone else.

I think of my sister, who is a Tokio Hotel fan. They haven’t put out any new material in over 2 years and haven’t done a performance/public appearance in like at least 6 months. And they are at the height of their fame in Europe, etc., and people seem to still be clamoring for them in the places where they are popular (I think? I don’t pay that close attention).

I think that is another extreme, but there could be a happy medium, too.

K, I seriously need to stop commenting on my blog today and get some work done. Oof.

An Open Letter to the Jonas Brothers on the Subject of Their Taking a Much Needed and Deserved Break Sometime in the Near Future:
    ;)

    Dear Kevin, Joe, and Nick:

Don’t you know that I am both obsessive and delusional, and that without your constant presence in every aspect of the entertainment industry for me to obsess and delude over, I will implode?

Don’t you know that if you aren’t giving me some part of yourselves every moment, I might have to go get a hobby, a job, or a life?

Sorry, JB. Hate to break it to you, but “no can do” on the break. Nosirree.

Kevin – Who needs long-term relationships? Marriage and family are highly overrated.

Joe – I don’t care how genuinely talented you are at acting, suck it up. One career is enough for anybody.

Nick – College? Feh! The school of life. That’s the ticket for you.

I mean, if not for you, who would my kids want to listen to? The Cheetah Girls? Emily Osment? Even…Mitchell Musso?

    No. I beg you. Just…no.

Breaking out in a cold sweat,

    Your fan,

    coolmom

    • on June 25, 2009 at 1:07 pm Trish

LMAO!!!!!!! You about summed up my thoughts on the matter! :)

And without JB taking up all the spotlight, Mitchell Musso might even…*gasp*….go on TOUR! Dear God, help us! LOL!

      • on June 25, 2009 at 11:18 pm Sonnnn

I couldn’t bear to watch that. I can’t watch him sing. Ever. Not even for a moment. Or Emily Osment. Or Selena Gomez for that matter.

But my DD loves them! LOL

    • on June 25, 2009 at 1:08 pm mememoi

      LOLtastic!

      “Suck it up”…hehe, dying.

    • on June 25, 2009 at 1:43 pm sharpld

      Brilliant, coolmom! ROFL!

Re: Mr. Musso’s singing career – He is an actor and for him, one career is enough.

    • on June 25, 2009 at 1:44 pm mollyanne

      Ummmm…………………..

      AMEN.

LOL @ Mitchel Musso and Emily Osment. Tooooo funny. Oh I hope and pray that they see this.

      • on June 25, 2009 at 1:50 pm mollyanne

By they, I mean the boys, not MM and EO. I would actually feel kind of bad if those two saw my comment.

        • on June 25, 2009 at 2:02 pm Trish

LOL, I actually thought you meant MM & EO at first! :)

        • on June 25, 2009 at 4:36 pm Elisa

Lol, I thought you meant M & E too! :P I thought it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if they got the message… ;)

          Oh I’m a horrible person. :)

    • on June 25, 2009 at 4:37 pm Elisa

      Dying over here… :D

      LOL.

  21. on June 25, 2009 at 1:59 pm sharpld

GAH!!! The World War III video from Denver. I just watched it. Be still my heart. Kevin, think about seariuos relationships! Marry me? (only half-kidding)

    • on June 25, 2009 at 4:44 pm Elisa

Haha, I would like to ask Nick the same question… A 16-year-old isn’t too young to commit, right? ;)

But I have to admit that Ryan’s dance moves in the beginning have been distracting me ever since K pointed them out last night… :) Gotta love him!

    • on June 25, 2009 at 4:48 pm coolmom823

I will concur with you re Kevin looking HOT in WWIII. Joseph is looking mighty fine in that tank top also. :)

    • on June 25, 2009 at 6:16 pm Trish

      *fans self*

Between the awesome Kevin footage, Joe in the tanktop, and Garbo in those glasses… I think I need a cold shower! ;)

my head is spinning…laughing from coolmom’s open letter ( :) of course…how do you do it??)

but also pondering the idea of them not really staying in hotels but flying around to cities.
I wonder if they wiil be renting a house in the hamptons and flying up and down the east coast as rumoured? But in so many east coast cities they are playing 2 or even 3 dates..the logisitics will be crazy!

see I was writing this when I heard about MJ so it doesn’t really seem important now.
I seem to remember at one pint the JBs were talking about an Osmond or Jackson5 cover and I was so hoping they would do the J5.
    RIP MJ.

This is really OT but Pat Burrell, when he was with the Phillies last season and they won the WS, he had a dog that came to all the home games. All the guys LOVED this dog. His name is ELVIS! And he got a CHAMPIONSHIP collar tag just like the ball players’!

Let me get a pic. You can see his ridiculous diamond studded world championship tag here…

    OK Help.

This article: 1- what is organic??? the JB are organic? and 2 – why is the fact that Alex was in the JB Band not mentioned? They didn’t “meet last year.” (confused!) The EP made it to the JB since they were friends with Alex…

Jonas Brothers: What It’s Like to Work With Them

Tue., Jun. 23, 2009 6:18 AM PDT by Marc Malkin

Money, fame and fans haven’t changed the Jonas Brothers one bit.

So says Honor Society, one of the opening acts for the Jo Bros’ just-launched world tour. We caught up with the group the other day at a private home in Los Angeles, where they were shooting a video for “Where Are You Now?,” a single featured in Vanessa Hudgens’ upcoming movie Bandslam…

“With all of the success that the Jonas Brothers have, they are extremely humble,” said Honor Society frontman Michael Bruno. “We’ve always been able to observe that about them, and that’s something that we plan to take with us as we grow as a group.”

Fellow bandmate Alex Noyes also chimed in: “One thing Nick always says that really strikes me is, ‘Live like you’re at the bottom when you’re at the top.’ ”

Honor Society first met Jo Bros last year.

“An EP we made, made it into the hands of Nick, Kevin and Joe,” Bruno said. “They liked what they heard, and we started to strike up a friendship first. And through that friendship, sort of a musical partnership started to happen.”

In fact, the Jonases have cowritten songs on Honor Society’s upcoming album.

“The guys are really awesome,” said keyboardist Jason Rosen. “They’re very organic. They’re very creative, and we just have a great time recording with them.”

    —Reporting by Dahvi Shira

  27. on June 26, 2009 at 3:57 pm mememoi

Yeah that always bothers me as well…I don’t blame Honor Society as people for that – someone above had to make this PR choice, and it’s kind of a strange one.

“Organic” these days mostly gets used to say “the opposite of phony”, I suppose he means both musically and personally?

  28. on June 26, 2009 at 4:06 pm coolmom823

Yeah “organic” today means the opposite of phony, in the same way that calling something a “journey” infuses anything with a vaguely spiritual meaning.

Alex Noyes having been JB’s drummer is certainly not being mentioned. What I can’t figure is why not? There’s nothing shameful in the fact, why not mention the relationship? Too much nepotism, maybe, lessening the impact of HS’s incredible musical ability?

  29. on June 26, 2009 at 7:49 pm Sonnnn

It’s just weird because it’s not the TRUTH. And the truth is verifiable. Alex is in videos on YouTube with a 13 year old Nick Jonas talking about the Year 3000 etc… He KNOWS them. Seems like something to take pride in.

Organic – huh! Girls, thanks! I would NEVER have understood that. Ha ha!

    • on June 26, 2009 at 11:27 pm Trish

I agree. It’s totally weird. Who is responsible for this ‘cover up’ – JB or HS, and why?!

  30. on June 26, 2009 at 7:51 pm Sonnnn

My kids are excited about PPP tonight…I’m DVRing COLE HAMELS for them.

(They said ANOTHER BASEBALL GAME!?!?!? Ohhhhhhh MOMMMMMMMMM! they don’t realize they are different games LOL!)

BTW it’s on 8 pm tomorrow night too…I couldn’t convince them to wait.

    • on June 26, 2009 at 8:37 pm coolmom823

My girls are watching it too. :)

  31. on June 27, 2009 at 1:35 am Anna

I’m sorry I am late to this convo, but looking over the whole discussion about the Denver article, there seemed to not be ONE mention of where Kevin fits in. It really saddens me that people here constantly “ignore” his contribution, all the while debating over whether Joe and Nick have the better voice. Where does my poor Kevie even factor in a discussion anymore? :(

    • on June 27, 2009 at 10:28 am cpaig

      *Puts on moderator hat*

Hang on… let’s back this truck up (beep…beep…beep….)

Remember, you create the conversation you want. If you want to talk about Kevin – bring it up – I am sure that there are PLENTY of people here who will participate – but you need to do it in a constructive way.

You really can’t criticize people for having a cohesive conversation about a topic – even if you think it leaves Kevin out.

That is what we are all about here – cohesive conversations.

PLUS – did you watch the video I posted from Denver? It is TOTALLY a Kevin video (posted by me because I am a HUGE Kevfan). If I recall, there was a discussion of the beauty of this video as well.

If you have a problem with the Denver article that is one thing, but you really can’t criticize people who have participated in a conversation here.

      That won’t fly.

      • on June 27, 2009 at 3:35 pm merry27

        amen.

    • on June 27, 2009 at 5:03 pm Elisa

Um, I think Kevin has even been proposed to on this thread… ;) He’s definitely not ignored on this site. (Just look at the number of the Kevin gravatars!)

All three Jonas Boys get a lot of love here. We discuss all kinds of things, which I think is great. Sometimes we talk about Joe, sometimes about Nick, sometimes about Kevin, sometimes about Joe & Nick – and so on. A while back we discussed guitar playing and Joe wasn’t mentioned then because we don’t get to see much of his playing… Same thing here with Kevin and singing. :)

      • on June 27, 2009 at 7:14 pm coolmom823

        Well put Elisa.

    • on June 28, 2009 at 12:25 am Sonnnn

right Anna, just like cpaig says, you are one of our “Kevin voices.” So your participation is really needed here! Bring up Kevin Kevin Kevin all the time time time! :)

I honestly feel very strongly about Nick and Joe and Kevin – they are all huge blessings in my life and in the world. But I like to talk about Nick Nick Nick lately because these days I’ve felt so “heart swellingly proud” of him. The whole “growing into a man” thing I guess.

Doesn’t decrease my love for the other guys who have equal places in my heart. I would never want to give up a single one of them.

    • on June 28, 2009 at 12:27 am Sonnnn

oh and I forgot – I can’t criticize/compliment much where the music playing is concerned, whether its “Bulldozer” or Kevin, or Nick for that matter. They ALL sound 100% perfect to me. I trust they are all professional and talented and it sounds great.

I can criticize or compliment singing because I can hear it LOL. And I know if I like it or I “LIKE LIKE” it or I don’t really like it so much…
      :)

I should put together a list of sexy Nick and sexy Joe singing moments from LVATT. I have many favorites already. Many.

      • on June 28, 2009 at 11:37 am Trish

Yes, you should put that list together! I’m sure it matches mine… ;)

        • on June 28, 2009 at 5:20 pm Sonnnn

Well, Nick’s voice is nice and LOW on Poison Ivy… you know what I’m talking about? no whiney boy there…

You know where I recall one of the best examples of Nick’s deep, non-”whiney” singing voice? Their TJ Christmas “Thank You” video. Love his sound there. I think the “whiney” is a bit of an affectation/style choice that reflects his Elvis Costello influences.

  32. on June 27, 2009 at 10:28 am merry27

Can I just say I love the way they are not “costumed” for this tour and seem to be wearing something different at each show..
    Is that right?

    • on June 27, 2009 at 11:13 am coolmom823

I heartily agree merry. I love the dressed down look the guys are wearing. It reminds me of how they were dressing during the State Fair tour in the fall of 2007: lots of tanks and jeans, vests, etc. HOT!

And perhaps a way to stay grounded even when their show and presentation has gotten bigger? :)

    • on June 27, 2009 at 11:31 am Trish

Are they?! YAY. I haven’t really noticed since I’m trying not to spoil myself with too many videos.

That’s always been a pet peeve of mine, mainly because I’m a scrapbooker – I want the pics to look different! LOL. And this time around, going to 3 shows, I want to really be able to tell each show apart.

On the other hand, I would be happy if Joe always wore a black tank top. Like, ALWAYS. ;)

      • on June 27, 2009 at 11:45 am coolmom823

Ditto. Kevin could always wear one too. :D

      • on June 27, 2009 at 12:13 pm coolmom823

I’m impressed with your willpower also, Trish. But actually, I’m watching far fewer vids this year than last year, probably because I’m GOING TO THE SHOW!!!! Sorry, just had an excited moment there.

Last summer the vids were the only way I was seeing anything, so I pored over them every night.

    • on June 27, 2009 at 12:00 pm merry27

oh good..I’m glad you agrees! they look so good in tees and jeans..and then of course rolled sleeves or tank tops :)
I never really loved what Joe wore on the last tour(the burning up tee)-of course he looked great- but I just prefer this.
Coolmom you’re right that these outfits make sense and fit in with the bigger production. Plus with that spinning stage I think you need to keep it simple.

Trish you have the most amazing willpower-seriously impressive :)

      • on June 27, 2009 at 5:06 pm Trish

Thank you, but I said I’m “trying” to not watch too many! Didn’t say I’d really make it the whole summer! :) LOL!
I read of some of the fun things they do during the show, and those I want to see for myself live, but just general songs I don’t mind watching.

For those who have devoured all the videos, do JT or Garbo move around at all, say onto the catwalks?

        • on June 29, 2009 at 12:00 pm lenzmom

Actually, JT and Garbo moved around a far amount. They moved to the sides a bit and went out on their respective catwalks almost as much as the guys did. If you want to risk spoilers, check out my Tacoma photos (when I get them up, whigh hopefully will be very soon!)

    • on June 27, 2009 at 3:34 pm merry27

ok so it looks like Nick is wearing the same leather jacket at all concerts but Joe and Kevin look like they have different looks.

      • on June 28, 2009 at 12:30 am Sonnnn

too bad. I don’t care for that jacket! Can you believe it!? Nehru collar – not good for Nick. He needs a real collar, or a V neck. Preferably a V neck LOL.

Ha ha I didn’t like his bow ties either.

  33. on June 27, 2009 at 3:45 pm merry27

there was the funniest m&g story from Denver (on TJ)..these 3 girls made 3 tshirts and on the back they said:

Joe Bang Me with a picture of a tambourine
Nick Hit This with a picture of a drum
Kevin Tap This with a picture of a piano

so after they took their pictures they said, “Look at the back of our tshirts. And Kevin had moved on to the next fan but Joe saw it and showed it to Nick and they laughed.
    Clever girls :)

    • on June 27, 2009 at 4:41 pm Elisa

      Lol! :)

  34. on June 27, 2009 at 6:27 pm Trish

Oh my gosh, have y’all seen the “Jonas for President 2040″ Bumper Sticker on the merch site?! Too funny! I seriously have got to get one of those! :)

    • on June 28, 2009 at 12:34 am Tiffany

I got one at the merch booth. They’re only 3 dollars!
weird though, a keychain the size of a quarter was 10.
      Gotta love concert prices.

    • on June 28, 2009 at 1:48 am Sonnnn

speaking of merch, I want want WANT the new D Collection shirt so badly … its in adult sizes gah! But it is expensive and shipping is $5 and there is no 10% fan club discount on charity items. And I’ve already bought myself Keith Urban and Brad Paisley tees but I can actually wear those outside so I can justify them…

Oh and I want the Lines Vines & Trying Times shirt Nick’s been wearing but that is almost as expensive and I can’t even verify the quality…

what’s a girl to do? a girl who wants everything Jonas????

      • on June 28, 2009 at 11:35 am Trish

Where is Nick’s LVATT shirt? I looked and didn’t see it!

What an awesome site, I’m trying to decide what to buy… :) Thanks for the tip!

  35. on June 28, 2009 at 12:18 am Sonnnn

OK – question and comment for you brilliant ladies!

First off, Mary sent me the best package today (hearts and hugs to you) and I put the photo of the mini Jonas-Con on my iMac where I can see it all the time!

Second, Carey – did your shirt come from your Cafe Press store? It’s awesome. Although maybe my version would read Nick & Joe & Kevin (& Nick again). j/k ha ha!

OK – and … I’ve decided I need to print out a nice calendar of all the JOnas Brothers concerts and appointments and commitments thru the end of the year … does anyone know the best place to get the info, or if anyone else has done this already, or have any helpful links for me?

AND … one more thing … I have been thinking a lot about why at this time in my life I tend to lean “empathetic” in my music appreciation. IOW I don’t take music and let my own life influence my feelings about it/interpret it via my own feelings as much as I did when I was younger. (and I always had an empathetic view even then) For instance, I think I tend to listen to the JB music at least partly as kind of a way of “being with them.” Like spending time with them. So I’m more interested in their feelings in the music than mine (and of course I’m long past many of the things they write about, so I’m sure that is relevant). Does that make sense? Does anyone else think you do that too?

I’m empathetic with other stuff too … during baseball games I obviously want to win for my own happiness, but at the same time I care about the guys and how they are dealing with stuff. In movies I think about the actors and their careers and what they are doing right, wrong, etc.

Maybe it’s just nosiness. Ha ha I am pretty nosy.
:) any thoughts on this for me?

    • on June 28, 2009 at 7:33 am cpaig

I can answer the first question…maybe the second too…

      I my shirt here: http://www.thenamesbrand.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=57

(I picked this particular link just for you ;) )

      Question 2:

Have you checked out the Jonas Calendar on Facebook – That seems to have a lot of the info you are looking for.

      • on June 28, 2009 at 5:27 pm Sonnnn

The Facebook calendar does not work much of the time so I got frustrated with it. I seem to go to it whenever 1,000,000 other Jonas fans are there too LOL. :)

      • on June 28, 2009 at 5:28 pm Sonnnn

OH. MY. GOD!!!!! That is the most fun tee shirt site I could EVER imagine! I will let you know what I get…

  36. on June 28, 2009 at 12:33 am Tiffany

So many of you have asked to hear about last night, and I’ll try and be concise but not spare any juicy details.
*I tried not to give away too much to those of you who haven’t seen the show, but I can’t promise anything*
The line to get in the gate before meet and greets was ridiculous. There were screams at every sight of a semi curly haired head and at every glance of a wiffle ball. Needless to say, it was a long 30 minutes. I made friends with a girl in line who also had m&g and it was great for both of us so we weren’t alone! When they opened the gates the people were corralled (their words, not mine) into this roped off area which coincidentally had an amazing view of a certain wiffle ball game. We watch Big Rob ride out on a motorcycle and John Taylor taking a picture. It was awesome when my phone buzzed with a tweet from him about a minute later with the same picture!! After another 30 minutes we were lead like a pack of ducks down the hill and over to the meet and greet area. we were all so surprised it was outside! Oh yeah, there were probably only about 30 of us, it was a very small group. While we waited we got to talk to Big Rob a little, and another guy who was kinda running the m&g. They were so nice! When I was ‘on deck’ I was freaking out. And then they told me to come on up, and Kevin turned around and I’m pretty sure my heart stopped beating. Sounds corny, but so true! He just smiled at me as I walked up, and it was amazing. He was super nice and thanked me for coming, and went in for the handshake. Luckily, I was prepared. The girl before me said if I wanted a hug, I’d have to ask for it, but they would definitely say yes. So I just went in for the kill so to speak. I asked for a hug and he said of course and it was amazing. Nick didn’t even try for a handshake, it’s like he knew that I wouldn’t leave without three complete Jonas hugs. Joe was in a great mood. If when he was talking to me was on a live chat, it would have been all in caps. He gave me a hug too, and then we took the picture. It was an amazing experience
The show was amazing. The was the floor was laid out, we ended up essentially being in the 1st row. It was on a diagonal so our seats had no one in front of us, and we were two seats away from the catwalk. Im not sure if Amanda felt the same way, but I felt like they were on our side a ton! And it was awesome! Our seats were right in front of Jack, and got a great view of Nick on drums too!
All in all, it was a great night. Nothing like a minute and a half of undivided Jonas attention to make your day :)

    Sorry about the novel :)

    • on June 28, 2009 at 1:51 am Sonnnn

questions – how did you get posed for the pic? did you get to choose who you stood next to?

how did you pull yourself away and LEAVE? did you feel sad?

And…were there moms and kids there and did they have to verify it was the KID who won the meet and greet? how anal were they about checking that? would it be possible to bring both your kids or a friend as well?

      • on June 28, 2009 at 2:38 am Tiffany

Well, Kevin moved over and made a space between him and Nick and then asked if I wanted to take a picture. Like I’d say no to that!

I didn’t feel sad at all. I was on cloud nine, still am!
They were super sticklers about kids and parents. One Mom was way ticked because her daughter put her own name on the form so they only had one pass for her. They wouldn’t let me bring a friend. The guy we talked to said they have to be sticklers or just anyone could get in.

        • on June 28, 2009 at 5:29 pm Sonnnn

that scares me. Because I put my own name down instead of Rachel’s for one TJ contest. And obviously I don’t want to go without her. I guess she could be Sondra?

        • on June 28, 2009 at 5:30 pm Sonnnn

If SHE won I could come since she is 8. But if I won then she has no reason to come with me, KWIM? That is why I should have entered her name. I did on 3 of the entries (I have 4 memberships). 3 of my entries were for Las Vegas and 1 was for Fort Lauderdale I think.

    • on June 28, 2009 at 7:35 am cpaig

      I just got chills.

      Thank you for your recap!

    • on June 28, 2009 at 9:06 am merry27

      thank you Tiffany!
so, so awesome. I can’t believe you only waited a half an hour….and hugs!!! never wash that shirt, ever ;)

Such a thrill just to read about it and of course your pictures were out of this world..

    • on June 28, 2009 at 9:20 am merry27

also I entered in my daughter’s name but I can’t remember for which concert…but I would be thrilled if she won.
      some moms are just crazy!

    • on June 28, 2009 at 9:33 am merry27

also, Joe talking in all caps!! lol. how lucky to see that side of him. the best!

Way to go Tiffany, getting hugs from JB!!!! That is an amazing story. Thanks for sharing. :D

    • on June 28, 2009 at 11:39 am Trish

Tiffany!!!! I am SO thrilled for you! I could just feel your excitement…GAH! Their gorgeousness is just magnified 10000% up close, isn’t it?!

    • on June 28, 2009 at 5:02 pm Elisa

Aww Tiffany, thanks for sharing!! What an amazing story… I am so jealous but also very very happy that I got to experience it through you. :)

Did you say anything to them? (Besides asking for a hug and saying hello, of course). I often wonder about that, think about what I would say if I ever got to meet them… I guess I’d just tell them that I love them and their music. Really original, eh? ;)

    • on June 28, 2009 at 5:05 pm Elisa

Oh and btw, your m&g photo with them is amazing… I keep staring at it. They look so happy and it looks like it’s just a group of friends hanging out. :)

  37. on June 28, 2009 at 1:36 am Sonnnn

Thank you Tiffany! You couldn’t talk too much about it.

I got my Rolling Stone today – just wanted to let you all know it was in Target here but Walmart still had the Adam Lambert issue.

  38. on June 28, 2009 at 1:46 am Sonnnn

you are my hero for being so brave to go to a M&G. I hyperventilate thinking about being that close to the JB and wanting to touch them, and look at them, and wanting to tell them so much and not being able to, and also I feel total embarrassment at being my age and wanting a M&G so badly. (but not wanting it! because it will be embarrassing!)

And it would be doubly weird because my daughter would be with me, and they would think that is why I am there, just another disinterested mom helping her little kid out, but no…this lady is totally besotted, oh god, one of THOSE!

OK then. I’m thinking maybe God will allow me to be chosen for the Brad Paisley M&G and Team Jonas will select me/DD for the soundcheck…much easier for me to handle. I’m basically the same age as Brad so I think I could talk to him. But he only has 3 or 4 people in a M&G for each show. There is a backstage tour that does not include him – that would still be fantastic. (you do get to meet his guitars!)

I have a connection who was supposed to hook me up in Nashville to meet JB but they did not do a M&G there…so she promised me this tour she could do it (through her BIL). But I really have no faith that will happen. But it still makes me nervous that it could.

The concerts honestly freak me out. You know how crazy/depressed/sad I was after Nashville. I invest so much in the whole experience and when it’s over it’s such an emotional letdown. And the whole experience at the show is SO crazy and loud and I feel badly that I’d rather concentrate every ounce of attention on Nick and Joe than on my own children (What kind of mom am I!). My DH basically is on “keep the kids happy and not bothering Mom while she swoons and freaks” duty and there is just something about all of this that is strange…

    • on June 28, 2009 at 9:32 am merry27

lol see my post about crazy moms…
that post concert feeling can be a drag but the Jonases are so good about giving back to their fans! We don’t know when they’re going to tour again but they are just so good about making us feel connected.

and your husband is really such a good guy.
my daughter and I are different kinds of fans and we complement each other very well. However she is getting older and I can’t see her keeping up this level of devotion for too much longer so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
and I don’t think you’d be nervous once you actually got to a m & g because another talent they have is putting their fans at ease and just being so normal.

    • on June 28, 2009 at 11:47 am Trish

I know what you mean re crazy/depressed/sad. My daughter and I had complete meltdowns for about a solid week after the BU tour. It was horrible.

Like Merry said in the comment below, we feel so connected to them at a show, seeing them LIVE, breathing their air and watching them do what they do just feet away, once that connection is broken…it hurts. We’re so used to listening to them and seeing them on TV or in pictures, but when they are there in front of you they are REAL, and it’s like a shock to your whole system!

And Sondra, you are very lucky to have such an understanding husband! :)

      • on June 28, 2009 at 5:32 pm Sonnnn

thanks Trish & Mary! You’re right about my DH. He is ridiculously “understanding.” LOL

I’m glad to hear you felt like I did Trish after the show. It’s exactly that that I was talking about, the end to the connection. It really hurts. Even though the experience was so great.

  39. on June 28, 2009 at 9:15 am merry27

I also think that both Tiffany and Amanda’s pictures put to rest any question about floor seats…they are incredible!!
I’m still in awe over it all :)

  40. on June 28, 2009 at 11:59 am keco

I would be afraid that people would think I was to old to be at a m&G. My first concert is July 17th in Boston and I can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! by the way I am so confused by twitter how did you guys learn to use it?

    • on June 28, 2009 at 12:12 pm merry27

keco..just go on twitter.com it’s easy to sign up. Then you can just find SiblingRevelry or me (ctmini27) and click follow us…if you use the name keco we will find you!

also..Boston, how sick is the Sweet Caroline cover going to be? I always think of that as kind of an anthem there.

  41. on June 28, 2009 at 12:21 pm keco

I know I was just thinking about the Sweet Caroline cover last night that is going to be really fun. People here go crazy for that song!!!!!! Also I am following some of you on twitter my name is Kecobb.

    • on June 28, 2009 at 5:34 pm Sonnnn

I’m going to follow you Keco and you can follow me back if you want to! :)

  42. on June 28, 2009 at 5:00 pm merry27

can this be true? A girl who saw them in Tulsa has a picture of some black boxes/trunks and she says the JBs were carried out to underneath the stage in the boxes. First they carried out 3 trunks, then they walked past again with the same trunks and the Jbs came on a minute later.

    lol if that’s true…

and if word gets around that they are being walked past the fan in trunks well heaven help the holders of the trunks!!

    • on June 28, 2009 at 5:29 pm coolmom823

Wow. There’s a thought. Is it possible?

    • on June 28, 2009 at 5:33 pm Sonnnn

      that sounds way too dangerous!

    • on June 28, 2009 at 7:13 pm merry27

      yeah it’s so weird!!
I was looking at her pictures ( I’m not even sure which concert it was) because she had level 100 seats and I’ve only seen floor views. And there was a trunk and then a whole discussion about how she knew they were in there and that would be the only way to get them to the stage. and everyone agreed and seemed to have heard it already..
She was not a teenager (22).

      But I still don’t know…

    • on June 28, 2009 at 8:02 pm Mae

HA I wondered about this after seeing photos from the Dallas show.

As crazy as it sounds, I totally buy it. I see no other way to get the boys out to the stage. Most acts with stages in the round have a covered walkway.

You have to wonder that as word gets out about how the boys get to the stage how many fans will begin in linger after the show is over as they have to leave from the stage as well.

      • on June 28, 2009 at 9:22 pm merry27

the whole thing is interesting…I’m front row of the lower level and I will totally be paying attention. Maybe they divert the fans somehow??
It’s kind of like a magic act I guess.

  43. on June 28, 2009 at 6:15 pm keco

Sonnn I can’t figure out how to follow you on twitter.

  44. on June 29, 2009 at 4:24 pm coolmom823

Here is a very sweet article about the Tacoma concert:

    http://www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_062909WAB-ill-girl-jonas-brothers-LJ.1b1227db.html

    Those boys are so good!

  45. on June 30, 2009 at 7:13 pm lenzmom

Okay. After drooling in my sleep on my keyboard and much battling with photobucket, my concert photos are up. I’ve only done minimal labelling at this point and the photo quality isn’t what I’d like it to be (I developed a love/hate relationship with my camera over this weekend), but they are there. I plan on writing the recap while I’m conscious tonight. My halfway decent videos are too big for photobucket, so I’m not sure how to go about sharing those (guess I get to learn how to really use YouTube), but I’ll work on it. I hope this link works. http://www.photobucket.com/shellenz

While we attempt to support our content with research where appropriate, this blog is made up of opinion and speculation (and sarcasm!) for entertainment purposes only. We are not the Jonas Brothers, so any comments directed to them would be better posted at one of their own sites listed above, in our Blogroll. If you have any questions...you can contact us here.
