All Access Awesomeness [Watch]

June 9, 2009 by cpaig

Walmart Soundchec
Another exciting step in the lead up to the release of  Lines, Vines & Trying Times it’s Walmart Soundcheck (all access enabled).

These videos cannot be embedded, so you are going to have to go HERE to watch them. It’s no big thing.

mp3_details.php?video=vidtomp3.com-12445751827782.mp3

So basically this is the most awesome thing and it has made my day, and thanks to Sonnnn (and all the others) who reminded me that there was something I was forgetting to remember to do this morning.

Filmed just before they left for South America, this “concert a la carte” features six songs (old and new), an interview, and (if you sign up for All Access) videos of their arrival at the Del Ray, a proper introduction to the horn section, cute footage of the Guys and the fans, etc. It is definitely worth your time.

More thoughts after the jump!

soundchec2
Even thought I forgot to check it first thing this morning, I have been eagerly awaiting this.  I have to say it is very well done, easy to watch, and re-watch. I couldn’t get the pictures to come up for me, but that is minor.

The concert features the songs “SOS”, “Poison Ivy”, “Lovebug”, “Paranoid”, “Turn Right”, and “Burning Up”. All songs are really more or less new, because they are all new arrangements featuring the new horn and string sections.

I will admit I skipped around and watched all of the new stuff first. Then I picked up my jaw and watched all of the older songs to hear the new sound and I loved it.

Paranoid aside (because it already has a tight hold on my heart), I can not choose which new song I like better, “Poison Ivy” or “Turn Right”. There is so much to love here!

“Poison Ivy” is the one that made my jaw drop. I’m not gonna lie, I am going to be blasting this all over town in a week. The middle bit – Mememoi called it “blues-y” – is amazing! I also love how Christa is back there on the guitar in this song (best. band. ever!).

“Turn Right” is more sweet than I could imagine, and Joe’s voice is just heavenly. Kevin blew me away on the piano (best. KevinJonas. ever!).

I am also absolutely in love with the bigger sound, the horns, the strings, more instruments, fuller, lovelier, just great. I also love how their harmonies seem to be coming back a little stronger than they were on the last album. Rockin’.

I am now beyond all healthy realms of excitement and must watch it again immediately. Go on, you know you should too!

The new songs were amazing. I’m a fan of the new sound for sure.
I really liked watching their reaction to the fan reaction. Nick’s face during Paranoid was amazing. You could tell he was genuinely surprised and excited that the fans knew all the words and were singing along.
Poison Ivy was great, I really liked the ‘blues-y’ part too. I definitely wasn’t expecting it.
Turn Right was amazing. My favorite of the new songs so far. Its just very simple, and Kevin on piano is always a plus.

And now we have to wait a week for the rest….

I will comment twice because I have listened to the new stuff first, and then I’ll go back and take in the new arrangements of the older stuff.

“Poison Ivy” is so HOT. I love this song. It’s just so grown up and clever and SEXY.

When I hear “Turn Right”, I feel exactly the same way I felt when I first heard “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” It’s that good.

    • on June 9, 2009 at 11:29 am mollyanne

:) I love the implied word that they don’t actually say or even hint at. But I can’t stop thinking it in my head when I hear it. They are so grown up- I love it.

      • on June 9, 2009 at 11:40 am coolmom823

        :D Me too.

  3. on June 9, 2009 at 11:27 am mollyanne

I do not know if I can wait another week. GAH!

I had to rewind and watch again when I thought I saw Christa on guitar. Love that girl!

And Kevin on piano? Oh I about melted out of my chair.

I’m loving this new sound. They look and sound very confident with it! Their harmonies on Turn Right were perfect and that song is just beyond amazing.

    I can’t wait. It’s not possible.

  4. on June 9, 2009 at 11:28 am Sonnnn

I feel like I’m missing something with Poison Ivy. I like the part near the end a LOT but the rest of it I don’t think I’ll love until I’ve heard it some more (as i love everything they do eventually for some reason). I really don’t like the implied b word – I don’t know, I am the only one I know of who is semi-critical of it…

    • on June 9, 2009 at 2:53 pm merry27

no you’re not. I LOVE the song…it’s rocking and catchy and as everyone says they are delivering it with supreme confidence.
Here that word is really thrown around a lot on the middle school level mostly by kids trying to be cool. And I know it works great with the song but I can also see if you have little ones how you would struggle with it.
so count me in as semi critical too!
I do think people will be talking about it.

    • on June 9, 2009 at 2:58 pm coolmom823

Here flamom, I need your help!

I understand your concern about the lyric. I’m not going to point any part of that bit out to my kids, and I’m just going to hope they miss it.

But they always want to know what the songs are about…so I need to decide how to field that one. Shall I go with a straightforward approach and say that Joe and Nick hate when they get poison ivy, lol? Or do I say that sometimes things or people that are pretty (like poison ivy) can be nasty when you get close to them.

      Thoughts?

      • on June 9, 2009 at 3:51 pm Trish

“Or do I say that sometimes things or people that are pretty (like poison ivy) can be nasty when you get close to them.”

That is exactly what I would have said if my daughter was that age and asking…

        • on June 9, 2009 at 4:32 pm coolmom823

Thanks Trish! I like that response too.

      • on June 9, 2009 at 8:26 pm Sonnnn

I think I would say the latter. I think kids can def understand that. I think the lyric does work without knowing the “rhyme” part of it so I don’t think my kids will have a single clue about it. I guess I’m just surprised by it. I don’t like words like bitch or suck or whatever and out of the JB’s mouths I like them less LOL.

The song is growing on me – what I can’t believe is how Nick’s voice sounds during the awesome part…he has range again – he can DO things with his voice again – it must be awesome for him to feel like he has control over it again. He sang like an angel before puberty and where he can’t do that kind of singing again, he sounds really gritty and sexy in Poison Ivy and I love it and I see much more great stuff to come from him.

I just hope we hear a lot of Joe on the CD since it’s obvious that Nick has really exploded all over the place in his prodigy-ness LOL.

  5. on June 9, 2009 at 11:45 am coolmom823

I knew I would love the horns on Burnin Up, because of hearing them on the Grammy’s, so that was no surprise.

But hearing them on SOS was new and FUN. I love how it will add a new element to a song that they have been playing for a long tiime. I’ll bet they just LOVE the new sounds because it will totally re-fresh the songs for them. That way, they can play the old favorites that the fans want to hear, but still have them be fun for JB themselves.

  6. on June 9, 2009 at 12:11 pm sharpld

This min-concert blew me away. I love “Poison Ivy.” Nick rendered me sppechless. He is growing into a mesmerizing frontman.

“Turn Right” made me cry. I sense a much deeper menaing to that song than they have ‘fessed up to in interviews. Keeping their faith in mind, I hear so much more in the lyrics. But I tend to read too much into things.

Please don’t shoot me for saying this, but I think they may have released the weakest single first. It had to grow on me. I met “Poison Ivy” (the whole song, not just the chorous) and “Turn Right” with instant love.

I think I am going to bust out of my skin with excitement between now and next week and Heaven help me in making it to August to see this wonder live.

    • on June 9, 2009 at 1:52 pm cpaig

I think you are right about “Paranoid”. I love it, but it was definitely not love at first listen.

I am much more enamored if these songs.

    • on June 9, 2009 at 2:39 pm mollyanne

I don’t think you’re looking too much into it Trish. I think that song could definitely have a deeper meaning. That makes it even more beautiful to me.

That’s what is so amazing about their new music (well, what we’ve heard). It’s not all completely straightforward. We can interpret it however we want to because it could easily mean so many things. I think that’s what the boys want us to do.

      • on June 9, 2009 at 3:52 pm Trish

(psst…she’s Lisa! LOL! :) ) but once I hear it, I’ll probably agree, too!

        • on June 9, 2009 at 4:07 pm mollyanne

Oops, my bad. Sorry sharpld. Where the heck did I see your name in that post?

I’d blame it on Monday but unfortunately, it’s no longer Monday :)

          • on June 9, 2009 at 4:24 pm sharpld

            ’salright, ’sokay. :)

            • on June 9, 2009 at 4:30 pm mollyanne

              :) Phew.

    • on June 9, 2009 at 2:53 pm coolmom823

One of the things that is impressing me so much about the songs is that they are so layered, lyrically speaking. There is more use of metaphor and symbolism – it all just begs to be interpreted. I’m so proud, *sniff* so very proud of these boys!

    • on June 9, 2009 at 8:27 pm Sonnnn

I would love to hear your interpretation faith-wise Lisa! Please share it!

    • on June 9, 2009 at 8:50 pm mememoi

I agree about the faith interpretation!! As a faith song it is pretty amazing. We should def compare interpretations.

It is my favorite song of the new ones so far. It just really moves me. They are all great on it but but Joe…just…no….words. It is such a soul hug. LOL.

I watched it over and over, now I am listening to the WalMart audio (which has extra Joe talking at the end!)

Just can’t wait to see them. Sigh.

      • on June 10, 2009 at 3:59 pm lenzmom

“Soul hug” … Exactly! Perfectly put. Thanks for beautifully describing it. :)

    • on June 9, 2009 at 10:07 pm sharpld

Mememoi and Sondra – I would love to compare interpretations. Let me gather mine into coherent sentences. Right now it is just a gut feeling. :-)

      • on June 9, 2009 at 10:39 pm Sonnnn

        I look forward to it!

I’d make a joke about turning “right” but it probably wouldn’t come off very funny here. LOL

        • on June 10, 2009 at 7:10 am mememoi

I would def. laugh at the joke but it would still be ultimately futile otherwise. LOL!

          <3

      • on June 10, 2009 at 2:13 pm sharpld

Warning: Incredibly long post. Here is my analysis, FWIW.

Part of my reasoning for the faith-based interpretation is rooted in the intensity and reverence with which they play this song. This leads me to believe the song is intensely personal and what is more personal to these boys than their faith?

I see the racetrack = life on several levels. One is the life of fame they are now leading. They are locked in for the ride. I don’t think it is coincidence that Nick sings the “Somehow I’m to blame for this racetrack we call life.” There are pitfalls and crashes and yes, sometimes you leave the track. But there is always one place they can turn to be safe: their faith. The finish line is the end of the crazy ride.

I also can see the racetrack as a larger metaphor for life itself, where people get lost along the way and again, faith is safety, but in this metaphor the finish line takes on a very different meaning.

There is also an over-the-top angsty metaphor I can read into it, where, similar to Nick’s ALBL, it is a song that is speaking to the safety and joy that is in the Christian afterlife, where there are no tears, no second glances, and no one is alone because they are walking with God. Also, “moving at a speed that friends cannot follow”, “soon you will be on your own,” “a road that is not for me” evoke images of someone falling off the racetrack too soon. I am not saying that this is a song about Nick’s illness and the possibility that he will leave us all too soon, but the parallel can be drawn, especially with the use of the piano. It seems as if their songs that can be easily connected with their faith incorporate piano. *Note to self: beware blanket statements.*

So all of that to say, I can draw the parallels and find the metaphors, but the important thing is that the song is beautiful and it touches me on a deep level. You know, given time, I could probably find metaphors for donuts or something equally as random in the lyrics, so take my words with a grain of salt.

Mememoi, am I even close to what you wer thinking?

        • on June 10, 2009 at 6:50 pm mememoi

You got some awesome allusions that I didn’t even notice!!! And, yes, I was thinking something similar, but also different.

I was almost thinking of the song as a sort of wistful hymn to people who aren’t necessarily following a faithful path, those who have abandoned it, never were on it, or are straying from it. Basically saying that the unconditional love of faith in God is there, with open arms, whenever the person decides to turn and embrace it, no matter what mistakes they have made. And there I think it rejoins yours, with the finish line of course being the promise of a Christian afterlife.

The one thing that makes me doubt my interpretation is that would essentially make the lyrics a sort of voice-of-God (rather than about or to God approach I am more used to hearing from them) and, well basically I am not sure whether or not that concept is a slightly sacrilegious one or not. LOL. But particularly where Nick sings “I gave everything” – that seems like such an fundamental aspect of the life of Christ, to me. *shrug*

And I like to hear it that way…a song for the lost but a hopeful one with the opportunity for redemption.

Funnily enough I am not deeply or conventionally religious but I really really love this idea, and they certainly perform it with such depth of feeling how could you NOT be touched? I don’t think you need to be devout to appreciate a beautiful, heartfelt and subtly rendered sentiment of faith. I can’t stop listening to it.

Amazing how songs like this can be read so accurately as really emotional human love songs. :)

          • on June 10, 2009 at 6:52 pm mememoi

OMG I am such a longwinded blowhard!

            Oh well. ♥ the song!!

          • on June 11, 2009 at 1:12 am Sonnnn

thanks ladies. Mem, Nick on his solo CD has songs where he is the voice of God like you say, kind of speaking for God. I don’t think he’s opposed to that kind of thing – they are darn confident in their faith. I think that is one great thing about their kind of religion. I could never feel that way. It would be nice to, though.

            • on June 11, 2009 at 8:59 am mememoi

I agree with you about their confidence. I am not as familiar with Nick’s solo album, but I have definitely heard a few songs that seemed instructive/encouraging in faith issues from Nick in particular, and I can definitely see him deliberately wanting to create messages that would draw people toward faith. You know? Expressing the most positive aspects of it. And I think he does it very well. I think they all do their religious background a ton of justice!

        • on June 10, 2009 at 7:59 pm coolmom

          Sharpld and mememoi,

Thank you for sharing you thoughts. Your ideas are powerful, provocative, and beautifully expressed.

When I heard the first clip of Turn Right on the second Live Chat, the Christian imagery came through very strongly for me. Then when I heard the entire song yesterday, the human love story came through. Now, I am hearing pieces of both and loving the song for both of them.

I also found “Love Is On Its Way” to have lyrics open to spiritual interpretation and deeper meanings. As we are gifted with more of their music, I hope and feel certain that there will be more songs like this. I think that there are layers of meaning open for interpretation in some of JB’s songs is indicative of their depth as people and artists.

  7. on June 9, 2009 at 12:36 pm mememoi

    I am just IN LOVE.

With the songs, the Boys, the band [extended version].

I have nothing clever or intelligent to say because my pupils are currently shaped like hearts and that makes it hard to focus.

    :P

    • on June 9, 2009 at 2:57 pm merry27

me either!! It’s all too exciting for words.

  8. on June 9, 2009 at 1:54 pm ponedbyjb

Blown away!! I love all of the new songs, really digging Poison Ivy! Molls, I too was singing the word.. you just have to!!! :) Turn right had me in tears.. like them their music is growing up… So glad we can go along for the ride..

  9. on June 9, 2009 at 2:48 pm coolmom823

I’m listening again and again, and loving the new songs more and more. I’m also loving the addition of Christa to the band. She is an amazing passionate musician and is really adding some wonderful female energy as well as her impressive versatile musicianship. :)

    • on June 9, 2009 at 2:54 pm merry27

agreed! she’s just so cool and talented and I love her confidence.

  10. on June 9, 2009 at 3:55 pm Trish

OK, I haven’t listened/watched this because my daughter and I had a pact not to listen to the new music until we get the CD Tuesday.
With Jonas Brothers, ALBL, and the 3DCE, we went to Target at opening, bought it and listened to it in the car in it’s entirety. It’s a tradition….and I can’t get her to break it! UGH! I’m dying here…..

    • on June 9, 2009 at 4:09 pm mollyanne

Oh I admire your will power. But what a fun tradition!!!

      • on June 9, 2009 at 4:11 pm Trish

I have no willpower! The only thing stopping me is my mother-guilt! :)

When you click the video, is it possible to see the old things without seeing the new?

        • on June 9, 2009 at 4:16 pm mollyanne

Yes! WHen you click on the link there’s a list of performances on the bottom. The first is SOS so you won’t be cheating. They start one after another so click on the next old song as soon as SOS ends!

  11. on June 9, 2009 at 7:21 pm Barbara

Love the brass!! Yeah! Especially on SOS. I was a big fan of them on Burnin’ Up, and that opinion hasn’t changed.
I still love Paranoid – haven’t gotten tired of it yet. I’m not as big of a fan of Poison Ivy – mostly because of the music – but about 1/2 – 2/3 of the way through, when Nick sings the bridge, it gets more interesting to me. :) Love JB jamming on Lovebug. Love Turn Right – sweetness. Kevin – yeah! :) So much love. I’m really enjoying this music, their new songs, the brass and strings…. awesomeness!

  12. on June 9, 2009 at 8:30 pm Sonnnn

I think this CD will be the best one yet and every one does get better and better.

I also think that lyrically they will improve – Nick is only 16, as they experience more and read more, that will help…so I find the lyrics still on the simple side but I expect more complex lyrics down the road.

  13. on June 9, 2009 at 8:45 pm Elisa

I really don’t have anything intelligent to say… Just that this album is going to blow everyone away.

Poison Ivy is SO mature. Looooove it.

As for Turn Right… I’m speechless. I was GASPING when I watched the performance for the first time. How is it possible to write a song that beautiful? Oh my goodness. And the way they performed it made it even better.

And Paranoid I love more every time I hear it.

This album is going to be amazing… The music is so versatile and mature and just (for lack of a better word) awesome. I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait.

  14. on June 9, 2009 at 8:51 pm mememoi

Man. I could just hear Joe’s last reprise of the “Turn Right” chorus over and over for days. Esp on the “You miiiiiight”.

    <3

    • on June 9, 2009 at 9:12 pm coolmom823

Joe’s voice is absolutely angelic in this song. And when he and Nick harmonize, it’s gorgeous!

    • on June 9, 2009 at 9:16 pm Sonnnn

that you might line kind of reminds me of Free Fallin’. the way Joe sings it not Tom Petty LOL.

  15. on June 9, 2009 at 8:59 pm mememoi

I really like Poison Ivy…there are aspects of it that remind me of something off the first Oasis album. But it’s way meatier, that was so lofi. Maybe it’s the lyrics.

It is different, it’s like a pretty standard crunchy Jonas Pop song until it hits that funked up bridge. Which totally rules.

I actually think the concept of it is pretty interesting. They have certainly evolved in their ideas on the subtleties of love-hate relationships since my beloved “Move On”. :)

    • on June 9, 2009 at 9:16 pm Elisa

Haha I just love Move On! You tell them, Boys! ;)

Funny you should mention it, Poison Ivy immediately reminded me of MO. (Not funny really… it’s pretty obvious why… issues/tissues/wipe away the tears)

And now I need to listen to Move On. :)

      • on June 9, 2009 at 9:22 pm coolmom823

Hey Elisa, JB’s MySpace is still listing the dates in Stockholm, Denmark, etc. Have they really been cancelled?

        • on June 9, 2009 at 9:35 pm Elisa

          Really?

This is where I’ve been checking and those dates have disappeared… I know because I was checking the site everyday to see if the tickets were available yet and then when I got back from Greece the dates were gone (and there were some new ones).

          https://tickets.jonasbrothersfanclub.com/index-old.php

          Hmm what am I missing??

I convinced a friend to come with me to London though, I just need to buy the tickets! :)

          • on June 9, 2009 at 9:44 pm coolmom823

Sorry, I was looking at MySpace, not the Fan Club. I don’t know what’s going on, lol!

I hope it works out for London!

  16. on June 9, 2009 at 9:58 pm Trish

Ick. Did y’all see the news about Miley on the Yahoo homepage? She broke up with her boyfriend. I think I’m going to be sick……

    • on June 9, 2009 at 10:22 pm coolmom823

We shouldn’t panic. It doesn’t necessarily mean that it has anything to do with Nick…

      • on June 9, 2009 at 10:28 pm Trish

I know. I’m trying to calm down. ‘In with the good air, out with the weird air’. :)

Sheesh, you’d think he was my boyfriend…(or, umm, son) by my reaction!

  17. on June 9, 2009 at 10:43 pm Sonnnn

She obviously wants Nick back and always has. Hey we can all relate to that feeling.

I don’t know – I’d be so surprised to see him want her back. I mean, I guess anything is possible since we don’t really know either one of them. So yeah. But I am so turned off by her that I would be disappointed to see him take her up again.

I’d be really surprised. But…if it happened then I’d assume there are a lot of things I don’t know and that are none of my business and if I did know them, it would make sense to me.

He is a really good kid.

    • on June 10, 2009 at 11:37 am Barbara

Nick does seem so mature. And Miley not so. As you said, flamom, I don’t think he’s prone to get back together with her, but we don’t know what’s really going on in their lives. I’m curious to listen to their new album, and particularly the songs World War III and Before the Storm, to see if the lyrcis shed any light on the situation. :) On WWIII, Nick seems to see the futility in relationships where only one person is making a fuss (ie he is the mature person of the 2), but in BtS, he asked MC to sing with him on the song, which of course makes you wonder. :)

I don’t know. I’m not worried about Nick. Although, if I saw he was dating her again, I would probably worry!! LOL!

      • on June 10, 2009 at 8:28 pm Monica

So have any of you heard Before the Storm?? OOhhhh, it’s pretty darn good. My DD found it somewhere online on a Miley fansite. I think it has “hit” written all over it. We were all listening to it (me and both of my dd’s) and we just looked at each other in disbelief. It’s THAT good. Yikes….

        • on June 10, 2009 at 9:03 pm Jan

I’ve been listening to “Before the Storm” off and on all evening. I love it! Nick’s and Miley’s voices blend fairly nicely (much better than Miley’s duet with Taylor at the Grammys.) I think the lyrics are pretty profound for having been written by a 16 year old.

    • on June 10, 2009 at 9:01 pm Jan

I’ve been listening to “Before the Storm” off and on all evening. I love it! I have to say that Nick’s and Miley’s voices blend pretty well. (Much better sounding than Miley’s duet with Taylor at the Grammys.) I think the lyrics are pretty profound for having been written by a 16-year old.

Whoops! I didn’t think the first reply went through!

and on a side note, I’m glad to see her not dating a 20 year old anymore. I think she’d benefit a lot from not dating anyone for a while and concentrating on growing up and developing her modesty and some ladylike behavior.

I am no longer sure she has a long future in music or acting.

    • on June 9, 2009 at 11:17 pm Trish

Agreed, agreed. It just makes me so angry, because he deserves someone who is bright and smart and decent. Someone with class.
Her immaturity and unladylike behavior horrify me. Thinking back to those infamous MySpace pics of her barely dressed, to her crazed Ellen appearance, to her & her mother’s snide treatment of them at that award show….it just makes me physically ill. I don’t want her poor behavior to reflect badly on him, you know? Don’t want her to drag him down.

I just love them all so much and want to protect them. I know I probably sound like a freak, LOL, so I’ll stop….just needed to get this out.

      • on June 10, 2009 at 12:02 am sharpld

If you are a freak, Trish, I am on the same freak train. I want them all to be loved and adored by people I deem worthy. Haha, right? Rationally, I know I have absolutley no say in what goes on in their lives, but that doesn’t stop me from going into overprotective mom mode when I sense a potential threat to their well-being.

There has to be therapy for this, right? :P

        • on June 10, 2009 at 12:21 am Trish

God, I hope so. Maybe we can get a group discount?!
Glad I am not having to ride the freak train alone! :)

          • on June 10, 2009 at 7:08 am mememoi

I laughed so hard at “group discount”.

    • on June 10, 2009 at 7:28 pm Jan

I can’t help but feel that Miley and Nick have had completely different upbringings. From what I read somewhere (and I’m not sure it’s true), Miley’s older half-brother and half-sister each have different fathers. Miley’s mom and another woman were both pregnant at the same time. If you can believe some of the tabloids, Billy Ray has little to do with the half-brother that is only a few months older than Miley. Meanwhile, Nick’s parents have a stable relationship and he has no half-siblings.
I read an article where Miley said she models her life on her mother who has done “almost everything exactly right.” In my opinion, having your first 3 children by 3 different men isn’t exactly perfect nor is getting married after your child is born and making sure that your husband doesn’t have much dealings with his son by another relationship.
All right, I’ll get down from my Puritanical soapbox now!

      • on June 10, 2009 at 7:47 pm Trish

Yeah, Jan. I completely agree with your POV and quite frankly, it surprises me that Mama & Papa J wouldn’t reign in the leash a bit. Yes, Nick has a good head on his shoulders. But he is still a teen boy! As a parent myself, I think a big red flag would have been raised a long time ago where Miley is concerned….

*sigh* but yes, we are only speculating. And hopefully overreacting for no reason! :)

      • on June 10, 2009 at 7:48 pm Trish

And have you seen her brother?!?! He scares me to death!

      • on June 11, 2009 at 1:15 am Sonnnn

Billy Ray certainly had his share of “problems” and he’s come a long way but not far enough. When he told Glenn Beck that he was just interested in being his kids’ FRIEND I knew they didn’t have the benefit of having a FATHER. It’s a shame. They have more than enough friends. They NEED a father. He just doesn’t have a clue about that kind of stuff, what can you do? And Tish, she just likes the celebrity thing and she wants to be Miley IMO.

  19. on June 10, 2009 at 1:49 am Sonnnn

    you’re not freaks. Enough said.

I watched like 11 episodes of Heroes Season 1 in the last couple of days. It is SO good!

And I’ve been back to work on my eBay store. I need to remember the other aspects of my life.

My kids and I are on the 4th book of the Wizard of Oz series – Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz. Pretty awesome so far.

    • on June 10, 2009 at 7:53 pm Trish

Flamom – My daughter was always into the Oz stories as well. (She even won a Dorothy look-a-like contest when she was 6! LOL!) Have your kids seen the movie Return To Oz? It is darker so it’s a little scary for younger kids, so keep that in mind if yours can’t handle stuff like that.

      • on June 11, 2009 at 1:18 am Sonnnn

I never knew that! cool! we have not seen it. The kids like Wizard of Oz though – my DD is more familiar with it since she has seen it more times. Her preschool graduation had a WOZ theme. :) My DS does get scared of scary stuff in movies. Neither one of them are super big movie watchers anyway – they can’t seem to sit and watch something for that long without going off and doing something else.

Unlike their mom who can watch 3 hours of Heroes episodes very very easily, and that is after a 3 hr 48 minute baseball game. But I am multitasking all the time…chores!

      • on June 11, 2009 at 9:06 am mememoi

We watched Return to Oz at my 2nd grade birthday party!! I love it. :) I should Netflix it.

        • on June 11, 2009 at 9:34 am mollyanne

Return to Oz is one of my all time favorites. My best friend and I used to watch it all the time. Hmmm, I wonder if I can find it on Amazon?

    Hey Revelers!

I watched these Soundcheck vids again today, and they are slightly longer, with the addition of more patter at the beginning and end of songs. Cool! 8)

Of course, there are more mentions of Walmart, lol, but whatever, they’re paying the tab…

    • on June 10, 2009 at 6:33 pm merry27

is there any mention of deodorant? lol. love that’s it’s sponsored by Degree Girl or whatever it’s called.
thanks for the tip..just need to find a quiet place.

      • on June 10, 2009 at 6:55 pm mememoi

LOL…I have to admit the sponsor had me uncomfortably checking my pits a few times. Gross.

  22. on June 10, 2009 at 1:46 pm Elisa

Just bought tickets to the London show!!!!!!!!

    So excited! :)

I’m actually going with two friends, yay. But I’m going to be sitting (standing) alone since it’s more important for me to actually see the stage. :D

    November 20th… ♥

    • on June 10, 2009 at 2:24 pm beckyheartsjb

Hi Elisa,Have you been to London before? I don’t know if I can come to the World Tour London date.I’m waiting til I know when my lectures will be in the next uni term, also I don’t know if anyone will go with me :( .
But its 5 days til LVATT and when I see them at Wembley next week,I can’t wait! :)

      • on June 10, 2009 at 2:55 pm Elisa

No, apart from Heathrow I’ve never been to England! I’m so excited… We’re probably going to make it a weekend trip, since the show is on Friday.

You have to tell us everything about the show next week! I wish I didn’t have to wait till November… Oh what am I saying, I’m thrilled just to be able to go!!

Oh, and I chose to buy a separate ticket for myself because I got a better seat that way… My friends pretty much have the worst seats in the house, but neither of them are fans so they don’t mind. (What do you mean I’m selfish?? Lol) So if you end up going alone, that just means that you’ll get a slightly better seat! ;)

        • on June 10, 2009 at 3:04 pm coolmom823

Congrats Elisa! I’m thrilled that it worked out for you to see them, this tour will be so exciting for so many of us!

        • on June 10, 2009 at 4:59 pm merry27

Elisa I’m so happy for you!!! I would love to see them in London…one of the best cities in the world:)

      • on June 10, 2009 at 5:00 pm merry27

and Becky…next week!! awesome. I hope you come back to share it with us.

      • on June 10, 2009 at 5:20 pm coolmom823

Becky! You must be SO excited for Wembley. Please come share your thoughts with us when you can. We will love to hear about concerts in another country!

        Hope it’s all wonderful! :)

  23. on June 10, 2009 at 2:20 pm Trish

YAY!!! Congrats Elisa! I’m so happy for you!

    • on June 10, 2009 at 2:55 pm Elisa

      Thank you, Trish!!

  24. on June 11, 2009 at 1:16 am Sonnnn

are the clips downloadable/purchaseable yet? I wonder if that won’t happen until Tuesday?

  25. on June 11, 2009 at 9:26 am coolmom823

I’m so relieved! It has been bugging me that during the up tempo end portion of “Turn Right”, what I could see Kevin playing wasn’t meshing with what I was hearing on the piano. But I finally figured out that Kevin is playing chord blocks and Ryan (if you look look behind Kevin in a couple of shots you can see Ryan’s hands) is playing the really fast legato portion.

I think it’s cool that Kevin is trying something different and stepping outside his comfort zone of the “guitar” family. I wonder if he’ll be playing the piano portion during the tour? I hope so!

  26. on June 11, 2009 at 3:07 pm mollyanne

p.s. to those who like this movie- Return to Oz is totally available on amazon in dvd form- I am absolutely buying it. Memories!

  27. on June 11, 2009 at 9:20 pm lenzmom

Too cute… DS #2 is in the back of the car singing “This is My Now” by Jordin Sparks.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen “Return to Oz” – if so many discerning types as you love it, guess I’ll be renting it soon! :)
