Awwwww. My DD is April 16 and she was 8 lb. 7 oz, and a week early. I was GINORMOUS durng that pregnancy. Really big. All over. Not my stomach. Everything.
My mom is very petite and I was 8 pounds 13 ounces and 22 inches long. LOL. My poor mother. I think she did it without the drugs too. What a trooper.
wowww! My kids were 21 and 20.5 inches long. They were not tiny at all. Ethan’s head is enormous (still is).
I had drugs both times but both times there were problems with them – the 1st time they only worked a little bit and came too late, the 2nd time we barely got the drugs since it was a very quick delivery

And they were taking phone calls and just need to work on that a bit. There was a huge delay between some of the callers and the brothers. They were funny and handled them really well.
On a scale of 1-10 it’s a 9 from me.

Yeah, I would give it high marks. There were a lot of little punches (false starts, awkward “taking SayNow calls”, random/lame questions) and they just rolled with them, lots of giggling and riffing. There were some gems.

I came home at 9:30 and clicked on it, expecting it to be over, and lo and behold, it’s live! And I’m thinking, “Have they been on for 2 hours??”. So then I see their facebook status updates and figure it started after 9 pm (EST) and therefore they weren’t on for 2 hours.
I’m glad I got to see about 10-15 minutes. They were HILARIOUS! So “on”! Admittedly, The last Saynow call didn’t work well – I can see why you ladies say that about Saynow. 
JB, call an SR-er and we’ll have some intelligent conversation with you!!! (Or will we?!?!? LOL!) It was so great to watch them laughing so much. Joy.

Did anyone notice the little goof in the beginning of Episode 1? Nick comes down the hall after talking with Penny, stands by his locker with his brothers, no notebook, no open bag, no open locker, and then suddenly he has his green notebook in his hand? Discontinuity between shots, they call that, right?

I didn’t notice that! but I noticed that when the Boys are talking to their dad, he’s wearing a shower cap, but when the camera focuses on Nick’s face and you can only see the side of the dad’s head, he’s not wearing the shower cap, you can see his hair. And then he has it on again.

Joe did seem to like the SayNow – but what I really liked about last night was that Joe was totally relaxed and fun, sometimes in the chats he gets kind of aloof and snappy.
I really was able to have fun with them last night – it was really cool. I so enjoyed it.
Nick is so amazing – he literally loves every word out of Joe’s mouth. He sounds so good on Paranoid. BB is growing up!
Kevin always seems like odd man out when it comes to the relationship between Joe and Nick. I feel awful for him.
I was able to watch the whole chat on youtube last night! I stayed up way too late but oh well, it was totally worth it. I busted out laughing when Kevin started talking about an invasion, and when Joe shouted “SAY HELLO TO DEANNA.” Oh, and when Nick named the say now lady Jen, and kept saying “Thanks Jen”.
During these live chats, I get to laughing so hard when the other people in the room start laughing and are obviously trying to keep it down. It’s infectious.
Is it just me or is the rumor about Joe moving out to get a condo getting really old? I laughed out loud when Perez posted it. Oh goodness.
Well if you’re tired of that rumor, Molly, no problem – because according to the new alerts this morning it has progressed – he already HAS the secret condo!
I just try to ignore it. Also on the alerts lately: Joe – “Joe’s Dark Past as a Child Drug Dealer”. (from the handing out the pills story)
Poor Joe is such a gossip lightning rod. I sympathize with the prevailing sentiment that he’s fascinating (LOL) but I wish rude people/media outlets would just leave him and his life alone.
Oh for goodness sakes. So he has the secret condo already. I’m sorry, but that story is just SO out there that I don’t know what to do but laugh. LOL. He certainly is fascinating, but that doesn’t make his personal life anyone’s business but his own. UGH.
I did see the drug dealing alerts pop up. I also busted out laughing at those. I will NEVER understand how media outlets can twist harmless childhood stories into THAT.
And people wonder why they are so private about so much. Well duh……because when they try to share childhood memories with us, they magically turn into drug dealers with dark pasts.
Another thing that is so endearing- every time Joe said something hilarious, he would cover his face so we couldn’t see him busting out laughing. Too cute.

I think the Jonas Brothers have a very normal sibling relationship. They squabble and form alliances right and left. There is constant harrassment from everyone to everyone.
We can’t really judge the relationships from the little sound bites and snippets we see of them anyway.
Oh, I’m not trying to judge. I just think it appears Joe and Nick dont have that “connection” to Kevin like they do each other. Maybe Danielle is closest to Kevin now
I have to say though that there was a moment…when Kevin threw out something about failblog and there was no response from Nick and Joe and I kind of felt for him because nothing’s worse when you make a comment and no one responds.
BUT overall he just seems much more mature than his brothers now and maybe he’s in a different phase of his life as he should be.
And yep, it’s normal sibling stuff. No denying the love is there though

I agree with Coolmom, they are normal and fine. They are likely closer than many siblings. I am much closed to MM than HQ, and I am sure an analyst would have a field day observing us interacting with one another, but it is all normal.
They also all handle a situation like a live chat differently.
Their family dynamics is one of the things I like most about them.

I think Kevin might marry Danielle, but maybe wait longer. Then again she is the first very serious GF he’s had longer than a year – I don’t know. He’s really young. Then again I met my DH at 19. So.
I do think Nick and Joe have a really special connection to each other. I personally feel real joy watching them together. I wish I had a sibling who just GOT ME like the way they get each other. They are the sweetest things I’ve ever seen…

I thought that maybe they could have just vetted them a bit…but I guess looking back they were pretty funny. They handled them as well as they could.

Another really random thought.
I just headed over to their myspace to listen to paranoid over, and over shamelessly and they completely redid their layout. I know its really random but I feel like you can really see that they are growing and their music is evolving just from their myspace page. It was all dark, with lots of black before. Now, its all white and beige. It’s almost like they are leaving their old ways behind and really coming into their own not only with their music, but the way they present themselves, and I love it. The chat was a good example. They just seemed really genuine and happy to be there. Maybe this had something to do with the fact that the chat was pretty much all about the fans. The only promotion I heard was the dates of the single release and the music video release and it didn’t bother me at all, Thats what I wanted to know! I just have a feeling that 2009 is looking to be even better for these boys. and they totally deserve it.

yeah, it’s on their page, and that is the version they played at the chat. I like that line. I mean, meds are prescribed for psychological conditions – I see nothing wrong with it at all …

I was thinking about it today. I think SO SO SO highly of Nick – like I see him as a very unique and special person – and I think Joe sees exactly that and he shows it, all the time. I think I would be the same way were I their sister or friend or whatever. The way Joe treats him and looks at him and listens to him makes me love Joe even more.
I know what you mean. I think Nick is extremely gifted and uses his gifts to his utmost ability. I think Joe appreciates how talented and unique Nick is plus I think he cherishes Nick because of his diabetes. I think he knows that he needs to appreciate every moment with him in case Nick’s lifespan is as long as his. Sorry for sounding so maudlin.
I can’t even explain how I think about Nick, I’d sound like a nut. But I hope you get what I’m (not) trying to say. It has nothing to do with how he looks.

One of the lyrics is like, “…when you get through doing whoever…” And their CDs all have explicit warnings. Why even play their music on a kids channel in the first place?! I think they need to reevaluate their ideas of ‘appropriate’. Boo!

There was a story about Joe in one of the magaizines (J14? 17? not sure)and I think when he was a kid he brought some asprin to school and give it to the other kids so of course that equals drug dealer. not.
I don’t care if Disney censors it either. But yeah they are pretty inconsistent.
I’m still reeling from the PCD at the Kids Choice Awards and Flo rida on American Idol. Even though I don’t have young ones any more I still cringe when that kind of stuff is deemed ok for kids.
I can’t remember where it was, but didn’t their mom tell that story? Joe found aspirin or something and thought it was candy and took it to school to give to his friends. When Mama J found out she had to call the kids parents and tell them. LOL. I thought it was hilarious and I cannot remember where she told that story!
It was on John Jay and Rich…both parents were telling various stories – broken collarbones, pencil-stabbings, Kevin throwing the rock off the roof onto Joe. It was SO funny the way they told it.
I think the way it went was that Joe found the pills on the street in their (implied “ghetto”-ish) neighborhood in Dallas and passed them out to other kids just to “see what would happen”. Someone had their stomach pumped as a precaution. But the parents told it as just one of those stupid kid incidents…LOL.

OK. Two posts here.
The Doctors. That was disappointing. The girl, Rachel, was wonderful and so mature and I liked her. But the segment with her and Nick was SO brief and kind of empty and obviously much of it edited out.
They had made it sound like Nick was going to really get deep about his coping and his life, and he didn’t. It was the same stuff as always. I still don’t know exactly what he is feeling when he is “low”.
And I really thought he would explain the Omnipod and the Contour Meter and let the world know about these advances in the field. I thought he would talk about his charity and what it’s doing and the progress in diabetes research. None of that. He gave Rachel a meter but did not even talk about it. The Omnipod is revolutionary, it seems to me, and I think they should have discussed it with the physician (who is from the Bachelor, ug). Rachel did express that “Nick has the best (read, most expensive) care”.
It was really short, I thought there was going to be an actual interview with Nick! And I thought there was going to be something that he was going to “reveal exclusively” to the show…? I just watched the clip on NJO, maybe it wasn’t the whole thing?
On the plus side, he looked amazing (gosh Nick, would you hurry up and turn 18 already?!) and like you said, it was reaaaallly nice to see a mature, smart fan, who had some good questions. Quite a contrast to those SayNow calls…
Oh, and it IS kind of difficult to take Travis Stork (?) seriously as a doctor, because I just remember him being on the Bachelor…
I like him, though.
I was so not impressed with him on the Bachelor and he helped me finally give up watching that show.

Rolling Stone has an article (saw it on nickjonline) that says they (RS) are surmising that “Paranoid” is about Taylor Swift and that Joe sings “that’s why my ex is still my ex”, etc. Doesn’t Nick sing that part? I think Nick is the chief songwriter, anyway.

OK, second post. I am reading Andy Taylor’s “Wild Boy” book about his life in Duran Duran. For the most part, I am disappointed, disenchanted and disenthralled … but there a couple of excerpts I have to share about their reunion in 2003:

The flip flop picture = HEAVEN for me!!! I ADORE feet.. I may have to frame it or something.. I have pictures of feet all over my apartment, and I even have a feet scrap book.. Never being able to go bare foot really makes you appreciate them.
That Journey video takes me back, and makes me smile.. My mom (on her good days) used to blast Journey.. the songs will stick with me forever. Just such great music!!
Well, Journey was more my gen but lately I have been listening to some Journey myself. I was not a huge fan back in the day due to the sappy ballads which I am not into in general, but man, I love Steve Perry’s voice more than I can tell you. I just love listening to him sing. It’s incredible.
Forgot to say earlier about The Doctors show. I think that the Dr. Francine Kaufmann from Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles is one of Nick’s doctors. They thank her either in her book or one of the CDs along with Caroline Gershener, Nick’s diabetes educator.

I really love that line “consider me destroyed” in Paranoid. I love the metaphor thing – I don’t know exactly what is going on and I like that – and I also like that it’s more cerebral and inner-directed and a psychological analysis, not just a love song.
Although, I love all their songs so not complaining … they can’t do wrong by me. Their music is something that I cherish. I love it all, from Nick’s Broadway days and onward.
Has everyone been listening to the Zutons? They are really, really good. That album is so listenable and likable the first time you hear it. Kind of like Rooney’s is. That is a real talent, creating music you can groove to the first time you hear it.
