kr1Time flies when you are having fun!

As we wait for 2009 (and New Year’s Jonas Eve) and enjoy a (very well deserved) lull in the Jonasphere, we are presented with an opportunity to reflect on 2008 and make some resolutions!

Joe told Twist Magazine his resolution for 2009:

Hopefully, to just continue what we’re doing now. We’ve had a really amazing year and are so thankful for the opportunities we’ve had!

Have you made any New Year’s resolutions (Jonas or otherwise)?

After the jump hear the resolutions of some of the Boys’ Rockin’ Eve colleagues.

more about “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve – Home – ABC.com“, posted with vodpod

I love how the Guys’ part was like taped in a hallway. It is all slick, glitter, formal dresses, Lionel Richie being charming  – wait – did I just see the Jonas Brothers in a hallway in flannel? Hmmm. I find it a bit jarring.

Heh my guess is that the boys part was filmed on the JONAS set.

New Year’s Resolutions? Uhhh, I’ll get back to you on that one ; )

  2. on December 29, 2008 at 2:34 pm merry27

awwww. Well that is definitely the set of JONAS. Nick in plaid, Joe in a hoodie and Kevin looking more like my son’s young cute English teacher than any school boy. So funny!

I never make New Year Resolutions just wishes-and I wish:

-that my daughter would find a good Jonas lovin buddy who could hang out with her and talk Jonas all day long

-that we see them at least once on their World Tour

-that every S Rever also gets to see them

-and that the Jonas Brothers continue to grow and enjoy more success in every area of their lives. They deserve it!!

  3. on December 29, 2008 at 2:43 pm coolmom

In 2009 I have resolved to walk on my treadmill with more regularity. That is my sole resolution, because in general I’m not big on them.

I echo your wishes, merry, hope they come true!

  4. on December 29, 2008 at 3:08 pm mollyanne

How many times can I saw they are just so adorable….I can’t wait!

I don’t really make resolutions either, merry! I never follow through so all I will say is that I will see them on their world tour and I will see them do a smaller show. There will be no missing out for me like the Nashville show!!! Ooh maybe they’ll just happen to do one in Chicago!!

*I wish that the Jonas or Bust RV would become a reality and would swing by to pick me up. Then we could follow them on their world tour!! Woot!*

  5. on December 29, 2008 at 3:12 pm mollyanne

That word was supposed to be “say”. I’m still all hopped up on cold meds, forgive me.

  6. on December 29, 2008 at 3:38 pm sharpld

It is a rhetorical question: could they be cuter?

I tend to stay away from resolutions, too, just because I feel guilty when I inevitably break them. But I do have a mantra for 2009, which is “I don’t want to lose another year.” It applies to so much in my life, goals I have not achieved, things I have not done. There are Jonas wishes on there, like taking my daughter to a show.

    I hope everyone’s wishes/resolutions are fulfilled.

  7. on December 29, 2008 at 3:54 pm cpaig

I am pretty good about keeping resolutions…

(Some of mine are the same as they were last year)

    - See lots and lots of live music (try to see a good country act). Hopefully one of the shows will be the Jonas Brothers world tour – my ultimate dream is Paris, but we shall see….Philadelphia, Atlantic City, NYC, Baltimore, and DC would be just fine…well not ALL of them – (yeah, right – LOL).
    - Be better about keeping my house tidy (my whole life needs an organizational overhaul).
    - Work out at least twice a week and find new ways to exercise (i.e. buy a real bike).
    - Eat better
    - reject fear and negativity – keep an open heart.
    - make new friends & keep in touch with old ones (make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.)

    :)

  8. on December 29, 2008 at 5:41 pm mollyanne

I lied I do have a resolution. I’m joining a gym. I worked retail where I was on my feet for 8 hours a day running around like crazy (in heels might I add) and I’ve got a desk job now. If I don’t follow through with this I will be in terrible shape. The good news is that there’s an LA Fitness 2 min from my place. Ugh I’m dreading it already.

  9. on December 29, 2008 at 6:50 pm mememoi

sharpld – I love “don’t lose another year” and ALL that that implies!!

I have so many things to work on…getting more organized in so, SO many aspects of life, being one of thing that trickles into a million other things…also resolving to be more assertive about pursuing all the different things I want to do and make LONGTERM plans (that stick) to do some of the bigger things we in our family dream about (besides buying lottery tickets and keeping my fingers crossed…jk I don’t really buy lottery tickets….maybe I should resolve to!).

Though for now I am just happy that I am able to put LBF first and that is mostly good enough for me. :) But I probably live a little too much in the now and don’t gaze far down the road in any active way, I could work on that! :P

I guess that is general self-improvement. I have never made resolutions, but for the first time I can remember, it is nice to have a fresh starting point after which I can say – “Do all those things you know you’re supposed to be doing….starting now…..GO!”

  10. on December 29, 2008 at 6:56 pm mememoi

And I couldn’t state any better wishes for the new year than you did, Merry – I hope they come true, too!

  11. on December 29, 2008 at 8:29 pm merry27

I really enjoyed reading all of these and even though I don’t make resolutions you are right mememoi-this is the time to reflect and start fresh.

Sharpld, I also like “don’t lose another year” and will adopt it as my mantra if you don’t mind.
And I could also use more exercise! and more organization.

although cpaig and mememoi you both mention organization and I can’t believe it because this blog is like the cleanest, most organized blog ever! It’s one of the things I love about it.

And when I looked at my picture of the boys at Yankee Stadium that I keep in my car-Kevin was wearing the white PL tshirt!! I cracked up.

  12. on December 29, 2008 at 9:00 pm cpaig

Thanks for the compliment Merry – It is very important to us to keep things slick and tidy around here!

  13. on December 29, 2008 at 9:45 pm mememoi

Yeah, this is the one place we have some semblance of control I suppose….messy world and all. ;)

That is hilarious that Floopy reared its head where you least expected it! HahaHA!!!!

  14. on December 29, 2008 at 11:05 pm flamom

OK – I would like to use my exercise machine as I mentioned in the other thread and lose 12 add’l pounds!

I also have a JONAS question for you ladies tonight!

    1. Why Australia ? What is the significance of Australia and why is there a song about a girl from there? It boggles my mind.

    2. OK – just an observation I guess. I love SOS every time I hear it. It’s so simple yet SO GOOD. I love Nick’s voice in it and I swear I hear something different every time. I never really noticed until tonight how his voice is kind of over mixed – I don’t know the techy term, sorry. :)

  15. on December 29, 2008 at 11:11 pm flamom

Did I mention I love the instrumental version of JB also? I listen to it on Rhapsody. I can’t wait for an instrumental version of ALBL.

  16. on December 29, 2008 at 11:13 pm sharpld

Merry, of course you may adopt that mantra. I am happy to share.

cpaig and mememoi – I agree with Merry about the appearance and integrity of this blog. It is a bright, tidy space in an otherwise jumbled world.

Flamom – I thought there was an actual girl from Australia that captured Joe’s attention. I could be wrong.

As for SOS, my favorite part is in the version where all three sing “call I’ll never get” in the end. I love hearing Kevin’s voice. I know, shocker

  17. on December 29, 2008 at 11:31 pm merry27

re Australia-Joe has an ex GF (of course it would be Joe :) ) from Australia and he tells a story about booking a flight for her to come to the US and then realizing how expensive the flight was.
But that doesn’t really fit the song.
still australian girls are lucky! How cool will it be when they go there to sing the song?

  18. on December 29, 2008 at 11:38 pm flamom

Without any backstory, it sounds kind of random, you know? I like to know the backstory … to everything. :)

  19. on December 29, 2008 at 11:38 pm mememoi

Was it a flight he booked? I thought the story was he was trying to send flowers? IDK if that would be ridiculously expensive but at that earlier stage of their career, perhaps…? Unless he was literally trying to send a bunch overseas instead of calling 1-800-FLOWERS or whatever, which….doesn’t seem out of the realm of Joe-esque possibility. ;)

I don’t think they’ve ever sung Australia (or Inseparable) at any shows we’ve attended….two of my first (and therefore forever) favorites!!!!

Thank you, from me this time, for the blog compliments!!

  20. on December 29, 2008 at 11:39 pm flamom

These guys seem to have piled up quite the bunch of ex-GFs!! LOL!

I have, ummmm, one ex-BF. And one husband. Oh well!

  21. on December 29, 2008 at 11:42 pm mememoi

I still think it’s media interpretation with the dating and the GFs. If I was counting the guys I had crushes on and hung out with, courtships that went nowhere, or guys I went on a date or two with, my list would be pretty long (and weird). :)

But if you asked me for my list of “boyfriends” I was ever committed to beyond that teenagery romantic entanglement drama….it would be blissfully short.

  22. on December 30, 2008 at 12:23 am merry27

well her name was Amelia but I thought that he did actually book her on a flight and his parents were annoyed. I know there have been pictures of them together so someone must have sprung for a ticket-can you imagine?

but I thought they sang Australia and Inseperable at the LMITE concerts? such a blur….

When are they going to have that concert where they sing every song they’ve ever recorded?!

  23. on December 30, 2008 at 12:35 am flamom

Like Kung Fu Grip? Love that, and love Nick singing it. Love Nick singing anything …

I also think I heard Australia and Inseparable in March 2008 – I love Inseparable very much – I wanted it on the Twilight soundtrack.

Mememoi – if I made a list like that, mine would be long and storied too! :) I mean, can you tell I’ve always been boy crazy? LOL!

  24. on December 30, 2008 at 12:44 am mememoi

That is a good point Merry…IDK…Hmmm…thatis definitely worse than an out of control cell phone bill. :P

Did they play “Australia” at WYLMITE? Maybe they did!!! Definitely never “Inseparable” at ours though. Boo. Though sometimes I do forget I wasn’t actually physically at the 2007 album launch though, I’ve watched that one so many times. (I did watch it live/fuzzy/muffled on Justin.tv!!)

flamom – you and me both!!!!!!!!!

  25. on December 30, 2008 at 12:56 am amandalovesjb

They have never played ‘Inseparable’ at any of the 4 concerts we were at this year. It’s Kayla’s absolute favorite. I like it too.

I do remember Australia on the WYLMITE tour.

I am so excited for New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, I can’t wait! We just got a new (to us) 50″ TV on Craigslist. It’s about 7 years old (not HD, but we don’t care). Do ya’ll have Craigslist where you are? It’s awesome, it’s like local stuff for sale. We’ve bought and sold a ton of stuff on it.

Anyway, I am so excited to see Kev, Joe and Nick tomorrow night!!!!!!!!

  26. on December 30, 2008 at 1:14 am mememoi

    Night after tomorrow night!

I totally love Craigslist! I sold a portable washing machine on it once. And found our guinea pigs! (RIP Koda.)

  27. on December 30, 2008 at 1:38 am K :)

2009 is going to be an amazing year for the Jonas’ and all those who love them! YAY!!!! I cannot wait!

Molly Anne, I am all for a show near chicago, or the bus swinging by; I live an hour south.

I want to take my new year’s resolution from the guys we love so much… I want to try to live my dreams. Corny I know, but it is time to start pushing toward them.

I hope that all of your dreams and goals come true, and 2009 is going to be a great year for all of us!!

  28. on December 30, 2008 at 1:51 am flamom

I think it’s hilarious that the JB are going to be keeping me up late on Weds. night to see them, and then I have to get up at 6 to get ready to leave to SEE them …

My DH and I were talking about how great vacations are because neither of us are on the computer and we can just stare at each other LOL. So he was telling me how I’m going to be staring at him for 5 days, and I gave him a “look” and he amended, “minus about 3 hours!!!! You won’t be looking at me at ALL for those hours!”

    ROFL!

  29. on December 30, 2008 at 8:40 am amandalovesjb

Sorry, you’re right, mememoi, night AFTER tomorrow night. Although, right now, it’s tomorrow night. Hee.

And Flamom, I could not be more excited for you, and Mae, and Cpaig, and Mememoi, we will be waiting patiently (ok, maybe not so patiently) for ALL the details. We know you won’t leave a single thing out. Like how many times Nick smiles. And how many times Kevin spins. And how many times Joe does something adorable/adorkable. And what they wear. And what they say. Oh, how I wish we could all go with you!!

And lol about your DH. Mine still rolls his eyes at me over my obsession, but he will occasionally make a JB song reference and then hold up his hand and wait for me to high five him (since that’s what Kayla and I do, high five at every JB reference opportunity). Cute. Like he’ll say, “Oh, I’ve got the wood stove too hot. It’s Burnin’ Up in here.” Or, “Just a minute, you’ll have to wait A Little Bit Longer.” Makes me smile.

  30. on December 31, 2008 at 2:42 am Trish

That’s funny Amanda! Your hubby definitely gets an award just for *knowing* he is making a JB reference! LOL!

My resolution? Make more money so I can spend it on JB tickets…..I’m serious. :)

How did Joe ever meet a girl from Australia?!

  31. on December 31, 2008 at 6:54 pm mememoi

Your husbands are both totally adorable.

(I shouldn’t know these things but I do remember reading somewhere the Aussie girlfriend was the result of an early fan club/Mandy-friendship connection of some kind…these kids and their internet!! She is his age but was/is a model, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she could have paid for her own airfare, you go girl….LOLs.)
