Ahhh!  Adorable.  Say hello to the 2008 Breakthrough Artist AMA WINNAHS!

Oh WHAT a night it was…full American Music Awards coverage after the jump!

normal_56248574ahmso111232008112540pm

Hey, Cpaig here!

WHOOOOOOOOO! THEY WON! HOW AWESOME IS THAT? (pretty freaking, I should say)!

Their acceptance speech was sweet and classy, and they looked great on the red carpet and in their performance suits.

But let me just say, I have forced myself to watch many awards shows to see the Boys perform and this – by far – was the best yet. I thought it was fast-paced, well put together, and obviously all about the music.

I will admit that I had my doubts after sitting through the clunky red carpet show (and I missed JB, apparently they were hoping to meet Kanye). I was thoroughly entertained and was blown away by many of the performances.

I thought Jimmy Kimmel was barely even actually a host. I was expecting his obligatory reference to relationships and things, but it was fairly benign, I thought. Though it is ridiculous to say that the JB go through women, but whatever.

I really enjoyed Beyonce, and Annie Lennox just blew it out of the water, but the Boys…the Boys…. were PERFECTION!

08

I think “Tonight” was the ideal choice for the show. It punches you in the face with power and doesn’t let up until the last note. They were all awesome, but Joe was just BEYOND AMAZING! He took that stage with confidence and prowess. It had all of the energy of a song played mid-show. They nailed it.

I am so proud to be a fan of theirs.

What else can I say, it was awesome.

Jimmy Kimmel just did exactly what I was worried he would do :(

  3. on November 23, 2008 at 9:19 pm Mae

Heh I didn’t think it was that bad ; )

Jimmy’s a comedian – I think he was obligated to say something. I pretty much expected it. At least he didn’t drag the topic out (yet anyways). We’ll just have to wait and see what else he has to say about the boys. The boys reaction shots were kinda priceless ; P

    p.s. I STILL love NKOTB.

  4. on November 23, 2008 at 9:24 pm joefan

Argh, sorry ladies, guess I’ll come back AFTER it airs here on the West Coast… You’d think since it’s FILMING here, it’d air LIVE here…I kind of get all antsy about spoilers…

  5. on November 23, 2008 at 9:26 pm mollyanne

Oh my Lord I was dancing all over the living room during NKOTB…..my 15 year old cousin officially thinks I’m nuts.

  6. on November 23, 2008 at 9:28 pm keco

I loved the reaction they had to Jimmy!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. on November 23, 2008 at 9:32 pm flamom

OMJ they look so adorable and handsome. I love how Nick held his hands together while Jimmy Kimmel teased them.

He went light on them – I thought it was OK.

  8. on November 23, 2008 at 9:33 pm flamom

Christina Aguilera needs to wear pants. I don’t like this Pantless trend the girls are doing in music lately.

Anyway back to the Jonas Bros. They look so GOOD!!!!!!

  9. on November 23, 2008 at 9:34 pm Amanda

It doesn’t start for another 15 minutes here in Boise, guess I will come back later as I don’t really want to know anything yet either…

    Picture is adorable, however…

  10. on November 23, 2008 at 9:42 pm mollyanne

Ok, maybe I overreacted. By the way, the boys look GOOD. Like, really good. SQUEEE!

  11. on November 23, 2008 at 9:43 pm Mae

I know Taylor Swift doesn’t have many fans on this site – but I’m curious to you guys’ thoughts on her performance just now. She seemed quite emotional.

  12. on November 23, 2008 at 9:44 pm sharpld

Okay, I am listening to TS right now. Ugh. She is going to milk the breakup for all it is worth. I have the feeling that the staging of her performance was meant to encapsulate her broken dreams. BARF!

I missed the opening, I have it recorded and will go back to it. (Had to put my little one to bed.) I wanna see the Boys!

  13. on November 23, 2008 at 9:44 pm Monica

Taylor was lip-synching!!! Totally! And you know she was singing that song to Joe. Drama Queen.

  14. on November 23, 2008 at 9:45 pm sharpld

No offense, Mae. I just have an aversion to the melodramatic, not TS in particular.

  15. on November 23, 2008 at 9:48 pm Mae

Heh no offense taken sharpid ; )

  16. on November 23, 2008 at 9:59 pm mollyanne

Yeah hmmm I wonder who that song was directed at? I think it would have made more of a statement if she would have sang one of her up tempo songs and rocked the guitar…she’s good at it. It did seem as though she was very emotional.

  17. on November 23, 2008 at 10:04 pm sharpld

Dang, Billy Ray. Your little girl looks way beyond her years tonight. “Fly on the Wall” is probably my favorite song on this album. Makes me nostalgic for Siouxsie and the Banshees.

“Banshee” would be appropriate for the not she just hit. Ouch.

  18. on November 23, 2008 at 10:05 pm flamom

Miley was just too much! I don’t like that freaky song. DH says she has to act freaky for a freaky song but I know she can dance and I don’t like all that weird gyrating! :)

  19. on November 23, 2008 at 10:06 pm flamom

My opinion of TS – boring song, and boring performance. She just sat there!!! and then stood up and walked 3 steps to another mike. I expected way more than that!

And if any part of the song was directed at Joe, it’s a moot point. He ain’t coming back…

  20. on November 23, 2008 at 10:08 pm flamom

My favorite song on Breakout (and I don’t like the CD much) is Breakout. Katy Perry’s song – she did almost the same version but apparently Miley got the song. It’s a good song no matter who sings it.

Billy Ray – he’s not protecting Miley like I think he should be – but he is Hot. Burning Up Hot! :)

  21. on November 23, 2008 at 10:14 pm sharpld

I usually love Coldplay. I am a bit underwhelmed.

  22. on November 23, 2008 at 10:22 pm Mae

Hah! Just saw a commercial saying JB was going to be on Jimmy Kimmel later this week. Maybe that’s why he was quite lenient on the boys. Or maybe it’s just cause he’s a nice guy.

  23. on November 23, 2008 at 10:23 pm merry

oooh an open thread!! Yeah!! I didn’t think JK was too bad. But they just look so adorable.

    so coldplay was weird..
    Taylor-No comment
Miley-she has something, not sure what but appealing watch.

Ghost face Kevin- guess that’s as funny as he gets!

  24. on November 23, 2008 at 10:23 pm sharpld

What did Jimmy Kimmel call Kevin? “butch-faced Kevn?” I couldn’t quite get it.

  25. on November 23, 2008 at 10:24 pm sharpld

Ghost face. Ahh, okay. Thanks Merry. Poor Kev.

  26. on November 23, 2008 at 10:24 pm merry

sharpld Ghostface Killer is a member of the WuTang Clan

  27. on November 23, 2008 at 10:26 pm sharpld

I for one, love Kevin’s pale skin. Great contrast to the dark hair and gorgeous eyes. Not telling you ladies anything you don’t already know, though. :-)

  28. on November 23, 2008 at 10:27 pm sharpld

Thanks again, Merry. Now I get the joke. I can be a bit thick sometimes.

  29. on November 23, 2008 at 10:28 pm merry

no problem. It wasn’t really funny. Jk is just clunky.

  30. on November 23, 2008 at 10:29 pm merry

    congrats Mae!

  31. on November 23, 2008 at 10:33 pm Mae

    LOL thanks merry!

  32. on November 23, 2008 at 10:37 pm keco

    getting nervous………

  33. on November 23, 2008 at 10:42 pm sharpld

Jordin Sparks – I will stick to the script, I promise. Too cute.

Caught a glimpse of the Boys! They look marvelous.

  34. on November 23, 2008 at 10:44 pm keco

    yeahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. on November 23, 2008 at 10:46 pm merry

    whew!!!!! Hoooooray!!!!!
    A well deserved win.

    Congrats to our boys.

  36. on November 23, 2008 at 10:46 pm sharpld

SQUEEEE!!!!! Go, Boys, Go! I am so excited, giddy, happy … vindicated?

They did so well accepting the award!

  37. on November 23, 2008 at 10:54 pm lemming5fe

YAY BOYS!! I love that Kevin flashes “I love you” at the audience and cameras. (At least, I assume that was a purposeful “I love you” sign, not a sloppy “Rock on!” But he’s done that before, I think? so I imagine it’s intentional.) Too cute. They all looked great, and their acceptance was short and lovely. :)

  38. on November 23, 2008 at 10:56 pm Mae

So happy they won – they deserve it.

I loved that when Ashley was announcing the nominees the crowd like erupted when JB’s name was called. And they hadn’t even been announced as the winner yet!

  39. on November 23, 2008 at 11:03 pm mollyanne

They NAILED it!!! And they WON!!

  40. on November 23, 2008 at 11:06 pm sharpld

Okay, they finished brilliantly. But I was a little nervous in the beginning. Nick seemed… shaky? By the end he seemed angry. Wow. Kevin was rocking it out the whole time and Joe looked awesome, totally pulling out his front man rock star moves, but it seemed to take him a little bit to warm up.

Maybe I am reading too much into it?

  41. on November 23, 2008 at 11:06 pm lemming5fe

And an awesome performance, too! Loved Joe’s hanging on Nick and flicking the mic stand up, Kevin’s spins (of course), and was it just me, or did Nick look like he was about to smash his guitar on the stage at the end there? He whipped it off and grabbed it by the neck a bit violently.

  42. on November 23, 2008 at 11:06 pm Mae

mollyanne – you took the words right out out of my mouth.

    They totally nailed that performance.

  43. on November 23, 2008 at 11:07 pm merry

    squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Amazing song.

I thought they did a great job!!!
Nick looked a bit nervous (such a perfectionist!!) AND they didn’t show Kevin’s spins which looked amazing.

But we can go to bed happy now.

  44. on November 23, 2008 at 11:07 pm flamom

Wooooooooo! The guys looked SO good and SO rockin’!!!!! Joe was ON and he was just Joe all over.

Nick was adorable as always and Kevin was great. Love the backup vocals!!!!!!

    Love the microphone tricks.

What did taht guy SAY – he wanted to choke the Jonas Brothers? Is that like, slang for congratulate them?

Well – the Jonas Brothers can’t be ignored that is for sure. Good or bad no one ignores them. They are a light to the nations for sure.

Love the shiny suits on a night like this. Love the blacks and grays all together. Even Joe’s hair was smokin’.

This fanmama approves!!!! Now to watch it again!

Love the whole rocking out thing! Been waiting for the guys to rock it out for so long!

Oh, and I’m SO PROUD of them getting the Breakout award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. on November 23, 2008 at 11:07 pm lemming5fe

Oh good, someone noticed an anger vibe from Nick. If you were reading into it too much, sharpld, then so was I.

  46. on November 23, 2008 at 11:08 pm flamom

I think jimmy Kimmel said Ghost faced Kevin – but I did not get it either!! ?????

  47. on November 23, 2008 at 11:08 pm flamom

If Nick was angry it was because he feels he could have done better at something. You know that boy is hard on himself! But he was great. LOVE HIM! :)

  48. on November 23, 2008 at 11:11 pm flamom

    Off to look up “choke”

I know I am too old for these award shows but I just love that the Jonas boys wear proper clothing.

  49. on November 23, 2008 at 11:21 pm merry

I missed the last joke- we were still sqeeeeeeeeing.

But we all know Nick so well!! He just looked very young with his haircut.

    Joe’s hair-sigh! and kevin’s smiles. All good.

Am going to check out a few other sites to see what the general reaction is.

But I’m still so happy they won that award.

  50. on November 23, 2008 at 11:37 pm coolmom

Yes, lemming5fe I know ASL and that was a purposeful “I Love You” sign from Kevin. Since Denise was a sign language teacher, the guys know many signs. Kevin has used that sign before.

THEY WON!!!!! YAY!!!!! And they looked gorgeous, too, and their speech was classy.

I thought they did a great job on the performance, really rocked it out! I was watching Nick at the end, and I read his face as just intensity at the end of a rockin’ number – he was pretty intense and animated the whole song. It must have been awesome to perform after winning!

  51. on November 23, 2008 at 11:38 pm coolmom

I’m so proud of the guys! *sniff*, I could just cry!

  52. on November 23, 2008 at 11:39 pm flamom

    Nick = Intense

  53. on November 23, 2008 at 11:47 pm sharpld

I missed Kevin’s “I love you,” but totally caught the air kiss. I forgot to mention it earlier. That boy kills me!

I hope it was just intensity with Nick. I wouldn’t want him angry after such a great night for them.

I am with you on the sniffles and tears of joy, coolmom!

  54. on November 23, 2008 at 11:50 pm mememoi

I will add to the fervor!! YAY! They were so GREAT.

I thought they were fantastic…my interpretation of Nick was that he was nervous/shaky…he just looked distressed, I don’t think he was 100% pleased with his performance but he sounded FINE.

Joe blew me away – he was STUNNING in looks and performance, I thought it was a really mature performance for him in a lot of ways. Yes!

Their energy was marvelous. And I liked how lowkey their set and space was…low danger and and a chance for them to showcase themselves with less artifice.

Could they have been more perfectly adorable and decent and chill? Nope!!

We stopped watching after Annie Lennox (what an amazing, beautiful moment) but I really enjoyed the show overall. I had really low expectations. But it was all about the music, and I came away entertained head to toe.

  55. on November 23, 2008 at 11:51 pm Barbara

I didn’t notice any anger in Nick. Maybe I’m just oblivious. I thought it was a good performance – well done, fun to watch. And yes, the boys looked smokin’ hot. Loved Nick’s haircut/style and Joe’s hair.
I thought the guy who made the comment on the Jonas Brothers said something like he wanted to meet the Jonas Brothers. My close captioning was on and I was reading it, but my memory could be wrong. My VCR isn’t working, so I’ll have to watch it again on youtube.

  56. on November 23, 2008 at 11:57 pm coolmom

I agree with your comment about their set-up mememoi, it wasn’t distracting and just really allowed them to rock it up like they know how!

I’m so thrilled, and so much happier with the whole experience than say, the VMA’s? (yuck!)

How much would we love to be at the House of Blues tonight? You just know it’s going to be epic!

  57. on November 23, 2008 at 11:59 pm flamom

I was blowing kisses to them from my living room! I couldn’t help myself! I’m so proud and thrilled!

  58. on November 23, 2008 at 11:59 pm mememoi

Barbara, I agree…I thought he said he wanted to talk to them but it was hard to get time with them, or something like that?

Oh, and as for the JonExes…they were fine.

Miley’s performance was a little muddled for me, but that is not one of her songs I am close to…it didn’t feel like a good live-showcase song.

I thought Taylor’s performance was quite good, I like her voice. I thought her emoting was good but calculated, so it was hollow for me. The girl is good at what she does! The song was a perfect next step in the TS-love-evolution narrative…which no one will ever convince me wasn’t masterminded in a record company office, LOL.

So I am trying not to take it too personally for Joe anymore…his name got caught up in something that was going to happen no matter what (or who she was dating). He was a pawn in the game this time…That’s how it goes!

  59. on November 24, 2008 at 12:00 am mememoi

Oh man, the HOB show….I am hella jealous.

  60. on November 24, 2008 at 12:04 am lemming5fe

Thanks for the verification, coolmom; I thought it was intentional. :) My family always waves goodbye with the “I love you” sign, so it is one of the few that I know.

  61. on November 24, 2008 at 12:08 am Tiffany

that performance got me even more psyched for the vegas concert!
    the boys never disappoint!

  62. on November 24, 2008 at 12:18 am mememoi

So true (about Vegas…6 days!!!!)…and I have to temporarily apologize for hating on Joe’s haircut lately…he was having a really good hair night. :)

  63. on November 24, 2008 at 12:23 am merry

I just watched it again on the dvr (now that my daughter is in bed) and I think my only complaint was the camera angles. I seriously think Nick was just getting all rock star and the camera kept cutting away.
Could anyone be more attractive than Joe? Wow!!
    And Kevin never stopped smiling.
    Think I’ll watch it again.

And those who get to see the live acoustic show after that-can you imagine???

  64. on November 24, 2008 at 12:23 am mollyanne

True mememoi- loved his hair tonight. He looked GOOD. It was so good to see them rocking out again!!! They totally owned the stage!!!

I am so jealous of those at the HOB tonight…..what an amazing concert that will be!!

Now I hope that all of the TS/Miley drama can be forgotten at this point. Both parties got their word in and it should be over.

  65. on November 24, 2008 at 12:28 am cpaig

    Here here Mollyanne….

I will add that I was disappointed that the Band was so obscured, but so was Miley’s. *shrug*

    I missed them, though.

  66. on November 24, 2008 at 12:32 am Monica

I literally jumped in the air when they won. My girls just looked at me like I was nuts. Glad my husband didn’t see it. I couldn’t watch their performance!!! I started, then went downstairs to do laundry! I was sooooo nervous for them, and my girls kept saying “you’re missing it!!” And I didn’t think Joe started out too well, so I just couldn’t watch. Now I’ll have to check it out above. I thought overall the show was OK. That one rapper said he wanted to choke one of them. Jerk. So many of the performers were lip-synching, though. That should not be allowed! I didn’t realize one of those thugs JK was talking to was named Ghostface. I thought he was referring to Kevin not being as “popular” as Joe or Nick (not that I agree with that). So now the Ghostface comment doesn’t seem as rude. Anyway, they’ve already posted on MySpace, thanking everyone. Congrats to them!!!!

  67. on November 24, 2008 at 12:58 am mollyanne

Joe kept patting his belly while he was singing :)

  68. on November 24, 2008 at 1:13 am cpaig

Oh, and I thought TS did a lovely job, and congrats on the award!

  69. on November 24, 2008 at 1:27 am merry

mollyanne-I always thought he was putting his hand on his heart to sort of be all intense. patting his belly is cuter.

And cpaig until you posted that picture I didn’t realize Joe was in brown! it looks good on him. It also almost looks like Kevin and Nick are weraing the same grey suit. Not sure.

And now that I’ve had a chance to really check out the red carpet pictures I have to say that I love the way they are dressed. Nick’s sort of subtle plaid suit with the contrasting tie and Kevin’s pin stripes and Joe’s chalk stripes. They haven’t looked this coordinated in awhile. I love it.

  70. on November 24, 2008 at 1:27 am flamom

Well I googled choke and I don’t get it. WTH would anyone say they wanted to choke the Jonas Brothers?

  71. on November 24, 2008 at 1:28 am flamom

Nick in a 3 piece suit is so funny on one hand since he is 16 and so gorgeous on the other hand.

I think maybe he is a throwback to the 1940s – maybe a vampire like Edward. :) He does do everything well …

  72. on November 24, 2008 at 1:30 am flamom

I think that brown look is due to the flash. I am pretty sure they were all in black and gray. Very coordinated – I approve! And the pants were exactly right on the tightness quotient too.

Gosh, Nick in a vest and a jacket – it’s just not right that he should look the way he does at his age. Not right!

  73. on November 24, 2008 at 1:38 am merry

flamom, you’re probably right about the flash d I know he was wearing black when he accepted the award but it really looks brown in that picture. Maybe it’s a magic suit?? :)

And that’s what I was trying to say about Nick. They all look great but he’s just wearing that suit so well…..

  74. on November 24, 2008 at 1:41 am flamom

It’s the flash. I have been just drooling all evening over the photos from today and yesterday. I have an eBay store and I take lots of photos – black is tricky! :)

OMJ did you see how nick’s tie coordinates with his guitar? And Kevin’s tie is striped and matches Nick’s tie and guitar? I love that shade – it’s like emerald green. Ohhhhhh it’s precious.

  75. on November 24, 2008 at 1:51 am mollyanne

Ok so I just got a chance to go back and watch a few things over and over again. And over again just to make sure

TS did a great job- her voice sounded great and I could tell it was hard for her to sing that particular song. Did I see a tear on the cheek at one point? That’s actually my favorite song off her album- I was happy to hear it live. Congrats on her award- she certainly deserves it. Although I do love me some Reba :) Once I figured out where the boys were sitting in relation to the stage, I noticed that she kept looking that direction while she sang, and she directed several parts of the song that way. Interesting- well not really, just hard to watch knowing that Joe was out there enduring that.

Miley’s performance? Eh, I just wish she would dress and act like the 16 year old that she is. I hate seeing young girls in such a hurry to grow up. No further comment.

I was worried at first that Joe was not having a great night- he seemed sort of subdued on the red carpet and when they accepted their award. Nick too- although you can’t blame them- it was probably a wierd overall situation having Miley and TS there. But then they got on stage and let it all out and it was AMAZING.

Flamom, I agree. The pants were perfect tonight. Just perfect.
-Boys? Do you hear us? THE PANTS WERE PERFECT TONIGHT :) And so was the hair :)

  76. on November 24, 2008 at 1:53 am mollyanne

Did I use enough smileys in that comment??

Oh and I loved the subtle hints of green on Kevin and Nick. And I always love Joe in all black….it’s my favorite!!!

  77. on November 24, 2008 at 2:02 am merry

Ok it’s a black suit. My eyes!

    And it’s a smiley night.

And I don’t know where TS was singing but I love the fact that there were no shots of Joe while she was singing or her while joe was singing or Nick while Miley was singing or Miley while Nick was singing. Right?? That was such a relief…

  78. on November 24, 2008 at 2:03 am mollyanne

Although I like Taylor’s performance, I stick by my earlier comment- I think she should have rocked one of her songs on the guitar. She’s good at it and it would have made a statement.

  79. on November 24, 2008 at 2:21 am mollyanne

Yes a big relief. I didn’t want a VMA type fiasco. The show really was all about the music- it was refreshing and very entertaining.

    It sure is a smiley night….the boys are back :) :) :)

  80. on November 24, 2008 at 2:45 am flamom

The boys are always going to get attention because who they are makes other people very uncomfortable. People having high standards makes other people feel defensive and bad. And what those people need is the high standard holders to fail – so they can know that it was all futile anyway and the fact that they never held the standards does not matter either.

So as long as the boys have the religious values they have – well, they are going to get the poop. And I trust in them so that’s forever IMO. They can take it, believe me, they can take it. They know what it’s about.

They are always going to be singled out and “punished” but it means what they are doing is right.

  81. on November 24, 2008 at 3:39 am Trish

Joining the convo late, but I am still on my JB high! They were AMAZING! Not that I expected anything less…

Loved the outfits (*sigh*) and they did an outstanding job! Totally rocked it! I also thought some of the camera angles were weird.

OK, I’m probably reading too much into this, but I felt like Joe put a lot of emphasis on the line “Throwing punchlines no one wins” LOL! I’ll have to rewatch it, but the first time I got the impression he was saying that specifically to someone.

And speaking of ’someone’, yes, totally lipsynching – what is that about?!?! I was actually waiting for her to have a meltdown on stage, too.

Miley. Ugh. Hate the song (sorry whomever above likes it!). And I HATE HATE HATE all those dancers!!!! When I see ‘back up dancers’ it makes me want to scream….I can’t really explain it, but I find it hard to take musicians seriously with all those fruitcakes prancing around in the middle of the song!! :)

I would have preferred if Jimmy Kimmel laid off the ‘virgin’ comment and just left it at the relationship dig. But overall, he was tame I suppose.

I have been reading many topics over the last few days here and was interewsted in joining this board. However, I really wanted to find a more pro-Kevin site, and this one seems to still denegrate him too much. I’m trying to steer clear of boards that make fun of Kevin(I read a couple of items here that had you guys saying joe was the best actor in CR, but you thought Kevin wasn’t that great. I thought Kevin was the best). There is also this tendancy to put Joe on a pedastal well over Kevin in the looks department(with the exception of Coolmom) and it angers me that Kevin cant be seen that way(my, God! He did make People Mags Sexiest Man Alive issue). There is too many “Joe, Joe, Joe stuff here that I can get on “teenie” blog/forums. I was hoping with a more mature fanbase here that Kevin would come out on top for once. I was wrong. Kevin deserves btter than being Joe’s “shadow. I wont be posting here

  83. on November 24, 2008 at 8:07 am sharpld

I just watched their performance again after sleeping on it. I must have been projecting my own nervousness last night, because the YouTube above shows me that they did, indeed, nail it. AWESOME!!!

I am so proud to be a fan.

  84. on November 24, 2008 at 8:34 am cpaig

Well Yvonne, you should have taken some time to look over the site in its entirety because we are pretty much over the top Kevfans here – especially me.

    See… http://siblingrevelry.wordpress.com/category/kevolution/

Kevin is amazing, it goes without saying, and considering we have spent most of the week discussing this fact (because of People Magazine), I didn’t feel the need to note anything in particular about him again (Other than saying he looked great twice and nailed the song, along with his brothers.)

I have read this entire thread and I do not recall one bad thing said about Kevin.

Just because we choose to compliment Joe in this post is in no way a slight on Kevin – it is really not a contest – and if we neglect anyone on this site, it is Nick.

We try to make this a place where you can voice your opinion, even if we don’t all agree.

everyone here has their favorites, that is what makes it interesting.

  85. on November 24, 2008 at 8:34 am flamom

Yvonne, there are more Kevin lovers here than anywhere. I’m not sure how you got another impression. I usually feel like we talk about Kevin the most and in the best way (I feel bad just criticizing his gray boots) … I mean, this is the site of the “Kevolution!” Are you sure you’re not mixing Sib Revelry up with something else?

  86. on November 24, 2008 at 8:36 am flamom

Oh, and it’s a fact that Joe is a handsome guy. How can any warm blooded female not talk about it.

And I talk about Nick Nick Nick Nick. I can’t help it. I love the boy. I think he is neglected since people tend to feel he’s just too young to fawn over. (I guess I don’t mind that)

Camp Rock – well, yeah, Joe is the only one who had a good role to play! Kevin had a silly role. He did what he could with it, but it certainly can’t come off virile or drool-worthy when they make him such a buffoon. I think we’ve blamed the right people for that – the directors and writers. They did not such a great job with CR.

  87. on November 24, 2008 at 9:33 am Monica

Is anyone else just pissed that TS’s performance was “great”, but that she way lip-synching? Even my 11 year old said “oh my gosh, she’s totally lip-synching!” She got absolutely horrible reviews on her CMA performance, so maybe that’s why she did it. I don’t know. It’s just that the guys were completely, totally, live, as always. I’m not sure what my point is, but I’m just irritated. Sorry to any TS fans out there…..she just rubs me the wrong way.

I guess they got to meet Coldplay…how cool for them. There was some big time people there last night.

And I’m not sure where Yvonne is coming from. The Kev support on here is amazing. I tried really hard to like Camp Rock, but his role was silly, so it’s not his fault. I do believe he was the only “sexiest man alive” in the building last night??

Kimmel was just OK. He can be really funny, then not so much. My thinking is this: JK works for the Mouse (ABC) just like the guys do, so maybe he was told to lay off them? I loved his comment about how Miley, now that she’s 16, could drive Scott Weiland home. Did you all see him? Wow, how sad.

  88. on November 24, 2008 at 9:38 am flamom

What about Justin Timberlake? Isn’t he on the People list? He combines dorky and sexy like no one else LOL!

Demi looked cute. Did she cut her hair or have it up in some weird way?

If I were a guy in Hollywood, I would be terrified to date TS. Whew! and she seemed to be off by a few words in her lips vs. her voice – I was so confused watching her. And why could she not perform standing up? Strange.

  89. on November 24, 2008 at 9:43 am sharpld

Yvonne, I hope you do come back and take a deeper look. You are likely to find more of us gushing over Kevin than over Joe or Nick. Although we all have our favorites, we try to give each boy his due. We recognize it takes all three to make the Jonas Brothers and they each bring their own talents and personalities to the table. Just like we do here on the forum.

As a regular poster, I am grateful to cpaig and mememoi every day. They have given us a place to express our love, concern and wonder over these amazing brothers, without all of the teenage hormones or arguments over who is the best brother. They are all extraordinary.

I love Kevin. He stole my heart long ago. His treatment in the media has been appalling at times. His treatment here never is.

  90. on November 24, 2008 at 9:56 am mollyanne

Well said sharpld. I think we all feel that way. We all have our favorite brother but in the end, we unconditionally love all three boys and are grateful to have somewhere to express that.

Flamom, demi did look cute! She’s just adorable as can be. Her introduction was so sincere.

  91. on November 24, 2008 at 10:00 am Elisa

    YAY! YAY! YAY!!!!!!

I just got back from school and had to come here to see if they won… And they did! I’m so happy! And now I’m going to watch the video.

    And… They look AMAZING.

  92. on November 24, 2008 at 10:09 am Elisa

Oh my God!! Their performance was awesome… PERFECT. And Joe could honestly not look better if he tried, he is gorgeous beyond belief. Nick and Kevin too. I loved loved loved it!

And I realize that I sound like an overly excited teenager… But then again, I kind of am. I’m almost like hyperventilating here. :P Deep breaths, deep breaths…

I’m going to try and calm down a bit. It’s just… WOW.

  93. on November 24, 2008 at 10:13 am Amanda

My 2 cents–I thought the boys’ performance was amazing. I did catch Nick at the end, I thought he was just caught up in the moment and hard rock ‘n rolling. I didn’t see it as anger.

One of my fav moments was after it was announced they had won, Papa J stood up and Nick hugged him. Then he had to kind of run to catch up to his brothers. What a sweet moment.

I thought TS was a drama queen, all the way. Did you catch when she violently pointed in Joe’s direction? Barf is right.

I’m sorry but I HATE Fly On The Wall. Don’t care for Miley, for that matter. My hubby was imitating her jerking around, it was hilarious.

All in all, a glorious win for our boys. They all looked stunning. Their hair was fantastic. I am falling a little more in love with Joe every time I see him. lol

It will be hard in Vegas to watch all three at the same time!! At least I have two times the chance to do it. I will probably concentrate on Kev at the 3pm, then Joe at the 8pm, Kayla will be riveted on Nick for both shows lol.

Squeeeeeeeee! I’m off work until Dec. 2, now I can get excited about the trip!!!

Who all is going again? Cpaig, Mememoi, Tiffany? We need to figure out how to meet up!

  94. on November 24, 2008 at 10:37 am Elisa

I hope that someone has put their acceptance speech on YouTube already.

So, what did JK say exactly? And how do you think he did overall? I find his humor kind of dry sometimes… He has his moments, though.

Btw, Nick did seem a little angry! I noticed that too. :) But I found that extremely hot, lol.

I’m just so happy that they won, I can’t stop smiling! I wish I could have watched the entire show… I love awards shows.

on November 23, 2008 at 9:44 pm sharpld

Okay, I am listening to TS right now. Ugh. She is going to milk the breakup for all it is worth. I have the feeling that the staging of her performance was meant to encapsulate her broken dreams. BARF!

    ————————————————————–

    Lol. :D Nicely put!

  95. on November 24, 2008 at 10:41 am Elisa

I am just so jealous of you all! I bet it’ll be amazing. You have to tell everything afterwards.

  96. on November 24, 2008 at 10:58 am Monica

Hey all – check out Kevin Jonas Online. There is a video posted of JB and Jordin Sparks performing Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” at the House of Blues Last Night! It’s a fan video, so the quality isn’t too good, but they are obviously having so much fun! And I just read they are going to be on Ellen on Thanksgiving Day! Can’t wait to hear that conversation……

  97. on November 24, 2008 at 10:59 am Elisa

I love this picture… Rocking. And is that Garbo I see in the background? ;)

    http://justjaredjr.buzznet.com/gallery/photos.php?yr=2008&mon=11&evt=jonas-ama-show&pic=jonas-brothers-show-ama-13.jpg

I’m done commenting now, I promise!

  98. on November 24, 2008 at 10:59 am coolmom

Yvonne – I’m in shock that someone would claim that Sibling Revelry isn’t a pro-Kevin site. I would venture to say that there are few people in JB fandom who love Kevin more than we do here at Sibling Revelry.

However, that doesn’t mean that we’re not going to give Joe and Nick their due when they are fantastic (like they were at the AMA’s last night). Which isn’t to say that Kevin wasn’t fabulous also, because he was! We here at SR don’t feel that mentioning something wonderful one of the brothers has done takes anything away from the others.

We love the Jonas Brothers here, and while we may give extra points to one over another occasionally, bottom line is we love all those boys!

  99. on November 24, 2008 at 11:02 am coolmom

Elisa – That is an awesome pic! I just made this one my new wallpaper:

    http://justjaredjr.buzznet.com/gallery/photos.php?yr=2008&mon=11&evt=jonas-ama-show&pic=jonas-brothers-show-ama-06.jpg

    Love it!

  100. on November 24, 2008 at 11:14 am flamom

If TS’s “heart is broken” after a few dates with Joe Jonas at age 18, she is in deep trouble.

  101. on November 24, 2008 at 11:24 am Amanda

Kevin Jonas online is also reporting that the boys performed “Please Be Mine” at the HOB last night!!!!!!!!! Squeeeeeee!

  102. on November 24, 2008 at 11:43 am coolmom

I went to KJO and saw the (very terrible quality) vids of the HOB. The one of the guys performing “Who Do You Love” with Dan Ackroyd was AMAZING!!!! Oh. My. God. I would give anything to have been there for that!

  103. on November 24, 2008 at 11:46 am mememoi

Wow – so much to respond to here!!

Yvonne – sorry you feel that way, I hope you give us another chance and come back to add to our Kevolution. (Maybe it is my fault…I am a total Joecoholic and not quiet about it. I am totally as addicted to Joecohol as any tweener.) :P We love the boys but we definitely try to be as honest about them…we love them all to bits but will not withhold our criticisms, because we think it’s an important part of the love!!

Guys, I am slow…Taylor was lipsyncing?! Maybe I was watching with squinty-eyed disapproval but this eluded me. Now I need to go back and check. That is inexcusable. I know everyone relies on aids sometimes but come ON. If that’s true, I am going to stop forcing myself to heap praise (where I thought it was due). LOL. But I was dissing Miley for her bad breathing in comparison to her peers like Taylor. But if she was the only one of the two girls singing live, Miley gets a buncha points back from me for at least attempting authenticity.

Amanda – YES! We need to email and figure out how we are going to meet up in Vegas, of course!!

ARE THERE YOUTUBES OF THE HOB SHOW YET!!!?????

  104. on November 24, 2008 at 11:48 am mememoi

Oh! And btw I agree that the Scott Weiland thing was sad. I think the fact that they had him present was exploitative and it made me angry. Awful.

  105. on November 24, 2008 at 11:50 am coolmom

mememoi, there are really poor quality vids on youtube and kevin Jonas Online. Apparently, only cell-phones werer allowed in the venue. Them doing the Blues Brothers with Dan Ackroyd was wild!!

  106. on November 24, 2008 at 12:02 pm sharpld

The HOB vids are not great quality, true, but how awesome are they still? OMJ! What I wouldn’t give to have been there! As was said earlier, I am hella jealous.

Their love of performing shines through so brightly. Their confidences as performers, too, since they said they had not performed some of the songs before.

I could gush on all day, but reality calls and I must go work now. I shall do it with a JB induced buzz. Yay.

  107. on November 24, 2008 at 12:21 pm Mae

I am so super, super, SUPER jealous of everyone who got to attend the HOB show last night.

It seems like it was a really special show – a show that probably won’t be repeated anytime soon. ‘Please Be Mine’ and ‘Hey Jude’?!

I really just want to go pout in a corner somewhere. And then consider moving to LA ; P

  108. on November 24, 2008 at 12:35 pm Elisa

I know I wouldn’t comment anymore, but OMJ! That is the first time I’ve ever said that but it just sums up my feelings perfectly… :) They played PLEASE BE MINE! Oh my God. One of my favourite songs ever. I just watched the video and I can’t even think straight, it was so beautiful. That is definitely one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard and to see them perform it live… Amazing. I would give anything to have been there.

And I haven’t even watched the rest of the videos yet! PBM, I can’t believe it… Today has been one Jonas of a day for me, one Oh my God moment after another.

  109. on November 24, 2008 at 2:05 pm Mae

OK so re: the HOB show last night. I just read a review – and apparently the boys covered TWO John Mayer songs. This is huge for me. I think I’ve mentioned it here before but John Mayer is my absolute favorite artist. Just Kevin mentioning him in the new book made me giddy.

Apparently the boys did ‘Gravity’ and with Demi ‘Daughters’ – I am now on a hunt ALL over YouTube for videos of these covers.

I am almost crossing my fingers that the reviewer got it wrong – that the boys didn’t cover these songs – only because I am that crushed to have missed it live.

  110. on November 24, 2008 at 2:27 pm Monica

Hmmm….Maybe they DO lurk on this blog!! Performing Please Be Mine? How many times have you all asked for that?? There is an article on Yahoo about how boring and awful the AMAs were – I’m not going to read it cuz I’m sure there’s some Jonas bashing on it. I guess when a program gets back to the basics and is all about the music, it’s considered “boring”. Whatever.

  111. on November 24, 2008 at 2:35 pm Mae

So I just had to share: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odzadSscZC8

JB (or really Nick specifically) doing ‘Gravity’ by JM.

::sighs:: Thank goodness for YouTube! : )

I still can’t believe they did this.

  112. on November 24, 2008 at 2:53 pm Monica

Wow, Mae, that is just awesome. Thanks for posting that. It shows how they are so into music and they are not just some fly-by-night band who isn’t going to be around long. They seriously know their stuff and are true musicians. Love them.

  113. on November 24, 2008 at 3:02 pm Monica

OK – I just have to share this with everyone. I just read on a fansite where last night, at HOB, amongst all the awesome covers they performed, Nick started playing “7 Things” and then said “just kidding”. Oh my gosh, that made me laugh out loud!

  114. on November 24, 2008 at 3:05 pm Mae

LOL no way Monica! That is hilarious!

I so hope someone caught that moment on video!

  115. on November 24, 2008 at 3:06 pm coolmom

Ladies, ladies this is a vid of “Please Be Mine” in pg quality. Wonderful, wonderful!

  116. on November 24, 2008 at 3:13 pm coolmom

Here is the opening of the concert last night. I am so impressed with the guys coolness at attempting crowd control. They are such pros!!

  117. on November 24, 2008 at 3:33 pm Mae

Heh coolmom – Kevin’s use of the words ‘check it’ is the best.

I love them shushing the crowd. I think that’s probably the first time ever in which they have really made an attempt to make everyone be quiet.

  118. on November 24, 2008 at 3:48 pm Mae

Had to share the boy’s cover of Switchfoot’s ‘Twenty-Four’ as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMD5BKSvvy4

There is a fun fact at the end. Apparently it was the first song Joe and Kevin ever played together.

Really these clips that are popping up are just getting better and better.

  119. on November 24, 2008 at 3:59 pm coolmom

That was so cool! Thanks for posting Mae!

  120. on November 24, 2008 at 4:06 pm coolmom

    The Blues Brothers – Redux!!!

    Fun!

  121. on November 24, 2008 at 4:10 pm coolmom

Kevin is wailing at the end of this song! Awesome!!

  122. on November 24, 2008 at 4:14 pm coolmom

And last night’s “Lovebug” has treats galore with gorgeous shots of Kevin! Not that we love here much or anything, lol!

  124. on November 24, 2008 at 5:20 pm Jan

I am so happy to have found this website! I thought I was the only mature Jonas Brothers fan. (Not saying my age but let’s just say I’m retired.) They remind me of my days as a Beatlemaniac.
I love all of the boys. I thought it was sweet (as Amanda said) that Nick started to follow his brothers to get the award but turned back and gave his dad a hug. I wish I could find it on Youtube but it’s been deleted on every site I go to.
I did think Nick was intense last night but you never know about his blood sugar levels. He might have been annoyed because they weren’t in range and he wanted to feel great last night.

  125. on November 24, 2008 at 5:29 pm flamom

I think Nick was just totally amped up. DD and I watched it 3x this afternoon.

Does anyone think it’s cute how Joe is so slight and quiet when he’s offstage and then he’s so magificent and rock ‘n’ roll onstage? He definitely needs the stage to let himself go!

  126. on November 24, 2008 at 6:17 pm Elisa

Thanks so much for the links! Where would we be… if we didn’t have YouTube. ;)

The TJTWWR video was so funny…
Kevin: “Hey, everybody! Check it! We want you guys to… stop moving” Ahhahah and then the cutest laugh :P

    Joe: “Like I was saying…”

Nick: “Could be good… Might be bad too, ’cause like I said, we’ve never played it before!”

    Boys, Boys, Boys… :)

Mae, I haven’t really heard any of John Mayer’s songs before, but if they’re all as good as ‘Gravity’, I’ll have to check his stuff!

Looks like I’m finding a lot of new favourites today… Loved the Switchfoot cover! Joe’s voice was unbelievable.

And the one with Dan Aykroyd was awesome! You could really hear Kevin at the end of the song. “Who do you love?” The Jonas Brothers!

And Lovebug… amazing! I loved it when Nick accidentally started to sing the second verse and then said “Yeah, that’s right” when he realized his mistake. The crowd was amazing, you could hear every word! I bet that made the Boys happy. : )

Honestly, that must have been like the gig of the year or something! They sounded great and just seemed to be having a blast, which is the most important thing. That really shows that they’ve stayed real and that they do this because they love music, not because they want to get rich and famous.

  127. on November 24, 2008 at 6:20 pm Elisa

Oops, sorry for the essay! I promise I’ll be less squeey tomorrow.

  128. on November 24, 2008 at 6:26 pm Elisa

And flamom, I’ve noticed the same thing about Joe. I find it cute, too! :P

  129. on November 24, 2008 at 6:46 pm mememoi

Never stop being squeey, Elisa….these are precious times!

I am still withholding the clips from last night’s show from myself like perfectly wrapped Christmas gifts…

I am not as much jealous now as excited…for Vegas, of course, but even more for the future prospect of shows like this HOB one. I don’t care how long I have to wait.

Though if anyone out there is interested we have a VERY LOVELY SMALL VENUE in downtown WILMINGTON, DELAWARE, a state in which certain bands have NEVER, EVER PLAYED. Just putting that out there. ;)

  130. on November 24, 2008 at 6:46 pm mollyanne

oh man…I would have given anything to be at that show. Thank goodness for youtube!!

  131. on November 24, 2008 at 6:47 pm mememoi

Flamom – that is one of the EXACT things that I love about Joe Jonas.

  132. on November 24, 2008 at 6:48 pm sharpld

I just fell in love with Kevin all over again watching the “Who Do You Love” vid. That boy reduces me to a pile of mush. GAH!

Wailing is right, coolmom! I never in a million years thought I world see that.

And then I watched “Lovebug” and felt love anew. This show is going to put me into a Kevin Koma. I can feel it coming. I will just be so deliriously happy.

Thanks, coolmom and everyone else for the vids.

Viva le Kevolution. Team Intelligent. Team Jailbait. Forever.

    (Fangirl much? lol)

  133. on November 24, 2008 at 6:59 pm mollyanne

mememoi, I didn’t notice the lip-synching either. Maybe I just wasn’t watching close enough. I will go back and watch as well. if this is true, I take my praise back.

  134. on November 24, 2008 at 7:05 pm flamom

    I am so in love.

    Can’t wait for Jay Leno!!!!!!

  135. on November 24, 2008 at 7:12 pm mollyanne

“Viva le Kevolution. Team Intelligent. Team Jailbait. Forever.” Haha sharpld….my thoughts exactly. That’s it, I’m getting a shirt made.

I am slowly watching all of these videos from last night and I am speechless. Please be mine, hey jude, gravity, daughters?!?!?!?!?! WOW. So cute when they tried to quiet down the crowd.

These boys never cease to amaze me more and more every day. They are true musicians who love what they are doing….and that is so inspiring. SO good to see them having a great time and letting loose a little bit. This is the first and only time I have ever said this but: I wish I lived in LA. Yikes. Shows like that are few and far between. I hope hope hope that I get to see them do that kind of show in my lifetime.

If it’s true that Nick started to play 7 Things, I would crack up. Gotta see a clip of that.

  136. on November 24, 2008 at 7:15 pm mollyanne

I am in Jonas Brothers heaven today. Sigh.

  137. on November 24, 2008 at 7:21 pm mollyanne

Sorry ladies, I can’t stop squeeeeing. I missed the whole day’s coversation so I’ve gotta catch up.

An acoustic version of almost any song makes me melt. The JB playing a whole show acoustically? Swoon.

I love that it was no frills. Love It. Everyone was in their clothes from the awards show. Or at least I think so. They really made it all about the music. Sigh.

Ok, I think I’m done for now. Maybe.

  138. on November 24, 2008 at 7:37 pm coolmom

Jan – Hi and welcome to the party!

Speaking as an (ahem) mature fan (let’s just say that Denise and Kevin Sr. are peers) let me extend an extra welcome to you. We all feel that we have found something special here at SR: a great place to come and share the Jonas Love without having to feel self-conscious about our fandom amidst the younger set. And the really cool thing about our little community here is that we represent all ages, places, backgrounds and now with some of our newest friends – countries! It’s a blast.

Really good thought about Nick last night at the show. I teared up when he went to hug Dad. And I often forget that he might be having a blood sugar issue. Luckily, he was rockin at the show after the show at HOB.

  139. on November 24, 2008 at 7:38 pm coolmom

sharpld – Kevin Koma. LOL. What a way to go!

  140. on November 24, 2008 at 7:47 pm cpaig

    The HOB vids are AMAZING!

    What lucky people!

  141. on November 24, 2008 at 7:50 pm mollyanne

Lucky is an understatement……I sort of feel like pouting a little for living in the midwest where the boys never are and for missing the HOB show. *tear

Ok, pity party over. I’m gonna watch the AMA performance again whilst I enjoy the rest of my only day off this week :)

  142. on November 24, 2008 at 7:58 pm coolmom

mememoi, from your post to JB’s ears! If the guys ever come to Delaware I am totally coming to see them and hook up with you ladies! I don’t care if I have to hitchhike, I’m coming.

  143. on November 24, 2008 at 8:02 pm mollyanne

SUPER cute video of the boys discussing Kevin’s ‘Sexiest Man’ status.

“I mean look at him – he’s pretty sexy” Hahah Nick!

Thanks for the vid, Mae. He is adorable, and so sweetly modest.

So much wonderfulness today, I can hardly keep up. This vid was another nail for my Kevin Koffin, in which I will die and go to Kevin Heaven!

LOL – Poor Kevin, but hey that is how brothers keep each other grounded.

    LOL – Kevin Koffin! I am rollin’….

Kevin still blushes. How absolutely adorable is this man? So sweet. Of course Joe and Nick are going to ride him about it as long as they can. They are brothers, after all.

So here is the progression for a KevinKuteness OD = too much KevinKake—>KevinKoma—>KevinKoffin—>KevinHeaven. Not a bad way to go at all.

    Thanks for the video, Mae!

Hey guys! I’m a newbie here and I am indeed an “older” Jonas Brothers fan. I loved their performance last night. I’ve watched several of the You Tube videos and the HOB clips too. That must have been a great show. I look forward to discussing “The Boys” here with other members of the “I love Jonas” team. Go Jonas Brothers
