oooh, great picture as usual mememoi. They should never, ever do a concert without a catwalk. I’m going to wait until a bit later when I can sit back with some tea and really enjoy it. I can’t wait to hear what everyone else thinks.

  2. on November 18, 2008 at 8:23 pm flamom

    I love the photo!

Thought of something … you know how “Move On” is supposedly about AJ? And they performed it once live and that was it. And then the MySpace entry about Taylor’s breakup and then it was gone the next day. Hmmm. I guess if they do “respond” they don’t like it to have a long life in the public eye. :)

  3. on November 18, 2008 at 8:28 pm mememoi

I love the picture too…and my favorite thing is that, since it was their “Los 40″ show with other acts in front of 80,000 in Mexico City, the crowd is half guys!

I like your theory, flamom…hmmm…they should still totally revive it, though. :P

  4. on November 18, 2008 at 8:49 pm mollyanne

One word: SQUEEE! I just sat and read it cover to cover….being sure to take in each glorious picture!
A few things I noticed and loved from my first read:

Kevin mentioned that he feels safe when playing guitar….I kind of thought that. I can’t imagine him on a stage without one. I’m picturing a deer in headlights. Thank goodness he’s always playing because he looks good doing it!

I think the pic of Joe at the beginning of his section is my most favorite facial expression he’s ever made. He said in his little intro thing that his brothers always say that he has the biggest heart. My heart stopped beating…..*sigh*.

Nick mentioned that he always locks eyes with a fan during a show in order to make that concert more intimate and special for them…..how sweet is that. Also, his writing sounded so grown up and mature- I should have expected that! Also, Nick wearing converse….squee!!!!

Essay over…I could easily keep going but I won’t….can’t wait to hear what you all thought!

  5. on November 18, 2008 at 9:06 pm cpaig

    I’m in Keaven …. Joeven and Nickven…
I have read everything yet (other than their introductions) – because I am they type that looks at all of the pics and then goes back and reads.

I can see myself reading it over and over and it will get a proud and prominent place on my coffee table. It is beautiful.

I have to squeal and say that Mememoi totally had Joe pegged re: his love of film making and his role in the YouTube vids.

  6. on November 18, 2008 at 9:07 pm mollyanne

I don’t intend to use the word SQUEEE!!!!! too liberally, but I had a lot of SQUEEE!!!! moments while reading! And during the 77kids concert, and during the fan mail video. And any other time we get a glimpse of the boys doing something cute.

  7. on November 18, 2008 at 9:19 pm mollyanne

There was another part where the boys talked about remembering when everyone had posters of the Backstreet Boys and Nsync on their walls and how amazing it is that it’s their posters on everyones’ walls now. Then they mentioned how they understand that one day someone else’s posters will replace theirs. I teared up a little bit reading that.
I try not to take advantage of how accessible they are to us now because one day they will have their own families and things going on and they won’t be everywhere all the time. I try not to think about that but reading the book made me see even more how wonderful and mature they are. They really do realize how lucky they are and it’s amazing how humble they have remained.

Sorry about writing another novel….had to get that out there to see what everybody thought.

  8. on November 18, 2008 at 9:20 pm mollyanne

I’m talking to myself….I’ll be quiet for a little bit now :)

  9. on November 18, 2008 at 9:24 pm Mae

Alright so I just got home from Borders where I picked up my very own copy. I briefly flipped through it – but I just want to say how *thrilled* I have that Kevin mentions John Mayer. John Mayer is my musical love (yes, even over the JB) and has been for over 7 years so it really is thrilling to see that Kevin is a fan as well. I also love his love of country music.

I’m sure I will be back with more comments shortly : P

  10. on November 18, 2008 at 10:31 pm mememoi

I am still looking at it! I keep skipping over sections because I don’t want to read it all through too soon. I think there is a whole lot I haven’t read.

I like the way they showcase the different sorts and sizes of venues they play in…that is something every non-fan needs to understand about them. Not every big pop act has the musical chops to do a no-frills show in a small club and I wish people would see that about them! So I will be showing that off.

And so far, LBF – a thorough Nickfan – has been most obsessed with the section on the AMAs because of the bloody suit and sad – she says “embarrassed” – Joe picture. She was very blown away that (1) there was broken glass on purpose and (2) that they couldn’t stop performing after getting hurt. Being only 5, she is finding this idea very intense (and I hope inspiring).

  11. on November 18, 2008 at 10:33 pm merry

wow-so much great stuff. I love the writing. It sort of gives you a sense of how different they really are and yet how connected they are.

And Nick wants to go to college!!! I love that. And how he identifies with his Dad.

Mollyanne you picked out some awesome parts-I loved Joe saying his brothers says he has a big heart too.

And when Kevin gets the time to wander around Barcelona alone! Can you imagine what that must feel like?

Darn, my daughter just took it up for bedtime reading. Ok, I’m getting my own copy. Can’t wait to read more gems from you all.

  12. on November 18, 2008 at 10:40 pm merry

mememoi you are right about the venues-plus you sort of get the sense that you (the reader) might get a chance to see them in a small show someday.
LBF is right-that AMA section is intense. The pictures there are amazing.

  13. on November 18, 2008 at 10:54 pm coolmom

There is a sense of glamour about this book that I am loving. And I am struck again and again by just how darn photogenic these guys are! Like, old-time movie star photogenic.

    Gorgeous.

  14. on November 18, 2008 at 11:29 pm flamom

It still breaks my heart a little to think about Joe’s bleeding hand at the AMAs. It’s crazy how much I love these guys who I don’t know IRL!

My book is on its way but I don’t know when it will get here. Why do I order stuff liek that instead of getting it myself? I am a dumbbell honestly!

It’s coming with my copy of the HSM3 soundtrack LOL …

The AMAs were a REALLY HANDSOME TIME for Joe!!!!!!!!!! I have many pictures saved from that time period. Swoon on his beautiful fluffy hair.

  15. on November 18, 2008 at 11:41 pm coolmom

I love page 80-81! Funny and true!

  16. on November 18, 2008 at 11:54 pm tlatzotzontli

I just ordered mine late last week. I can’t wait to get it!

  17. on November 18, 2008 at 11:54 pm mollyanne

Yes I loved pages 80-81…so funny!

I laughed out loud for several minutes when they described the 42% humidity in Texas as “brutal”. I mean, I know it was super hot and they were running around on stage and sweating like crazy but July and August in Indiana= 100% humidity every day. People never believe it when they come here!
It was extremely fortunate that when the boys stopped in Indianapolis this summer it was a beautiful, not normal July day- hardly any humidity and it only got up to 82 or so. It was wonderful considering the concert was outdoors!
    Ahhhh memories.

  18. on November 19, 2008 at 12:20 am sharpld

flamom – we are kindred spirtits. My copies are coming with the soundtrack for HSM 3, same as yours. And like you, I am wondering why I didn’t just go out and buy it. Ugh. It is worth the wait though!

  19. on November 19, 2008 at 12:22 am mememoi

I have to give props to the JB Merch shop…I bought through them because of the Team Jonas discount (though the difference between that sale price and Amazon was almost nothing) and they did right by me by getting it to me early. Pleasant surprise…Team Jonas themselves could stand to learn from it *ahem*!

  20. on November 19, 2008 at 12:32 am mollyanne

Just in case anyone is wanting another copy I got mine at Target for 15.29!

  21. on November 19, 2008 at 12:39 am Monica

The AMAs were exactly one year ago today (18th) – don’t ask me how I know that. I have this weird thing with dates. I’ve read the entire book cover to cover. I love Joe’s Polaroid pictures and his explanation about showing life’s imperfections. And the pic showing the fan holding up one of their favorite bible verses. They get the point across that they are deeply religious, but don’t shove it down anyone’s throat.

The AMAs this year sure aren’t getting much hype. I haven’t seen one commerical for it. I hope things go better for them…..although with Miley and Taylor there, who knows! Should be interesting. I hope they perform Lovebug, and I hope they WIN!! They need it, being a fan-voted thing and all.

  22. on November 19, 2008 at 12:53 am flamom

Oh, that is too cute, Sharpid! I think me and the kids are going to see HSM3 for the 2nd time after school tomorrow. :)

I agree about the AMAs! I haven’t heard a thing other than on the Nick J Web site.

I think the JB are so used to NJ weather. I live in FL now and have for 17 years but the previous 21 years I lived in Jersey (South Jersey near Philly). And the weather is so nice there – it’s perfect. All four seasons and nothing too terrible. It’s beautiful. And your hair always comes out nice there too. :)

  23. on November 19, 2008 at 1:12 am mollyanne

Monica I agree with you 100%! I loved Joe’s explanation of a polaroid picture….it was beautiful!

I’ve seen several commercials for the AMA’s here. They started about a week ago. Only on ABC…but there were a couple tonight during Dancing with the Stars. I hope it’s a great night for the boys. It could be interesting with both Miley and Taylor there. Cringe.

Flamom I laughed when you talked about hair with the weather in Jersey. I would have thought winters there were rough! It’s hard to keep your hair under control where I live. I am essentially married to my straightener. There’s rarely a happy medium with weather. We didn’t really get an autumn this year….it’s 27 degrees out now and I am chilled to the bone. My hometown near Chicago got 8 inches of snow last night. Yuck.

Wierd thing, did I read somewhere that Polaroid is discontinuing the original polaroid camera and everything that goes with it? That would be sad for Joe :(

  24. on November 19, 2008 at 1:36 am flamom

Yeah, I just love doing my hair in Jersey when I visit in the winter! It comes out so great. My hair looks awful in FL. I have that kind of hair Joe has – the not curly/not straight kind.

My dad loved his Polaroids! He always had one around. He was a big camera buff. If only he had lived to see the digital camera – he would have been amazed!

  25. on November 19, 2008 at 3:45 am Trish

It really is stunning! We ran out first thing this morning to pick up a copy since I foolishly kept forgetting to preorder it from the JB merch store.

Mememoi – I did the same thing…left bits and pieces unread as not to devour it all at once!

I am absolutely thrilled with the book, however one thing sorely missed was a real acknowledgement of the band. I was really hoping there would be at least one page devoted to info about Garbo, John, Jack and Ryan. Hmph.

coolmom – LOL @ page 80-81! So true!

  26. on November 19, 2008 at 7:56 am flamom

They are not at the point to really acknowledge the band, I guess. They are still basically appealing to the young fanbase who is mainly/completely interested only in the three of them, KWIM? It’s us older types who look at them like a band – all of them together. I hope they move on and mature to the point where they do market more as a complete band.

  27. on November 19, 2008 at 10:23 am mememoi

    I agree, Trish and flamom.

I have to admit that wasn’t the thing that first jumped out to me that the band was missing apart from the fuzzy representation in Joe’s polaroids :) …I guess I’ve finally gotten more used to them dwelling in the shadows, and I think the members of the band probably are, too.

It’s also kind of nice to have some knowledge about the group that true fans still have to work for.

  28. on November 19, 2008 at 10:35 am Amanda

My copy was $11.99 at Costco! Of course I looked for the book right when I got to work at 7:30am yesterday. They were still unpacking them so I grabbed my copy to buy at 10:00 when the store opens.

It was so cute, the boxes that they came in were small white boxes with black lettering “Jonas Brothers are in here! Don’t let them out until 11-18-08!” I wanted to grab an empty box but they wouldn’t let me!

I am in love with the book. Nick and Kevin both say their Dad is their biggest inspiration…and Joe? He says his brothers and his Dad is his biggest inspiration. Awwwwwwwww!

  29. on November 19, 2008 at 10:48 am flamom

    Those boys warm my heart!!!!!!!!!!

  30. on November 19, 2008 at 11:03 am Trish

That’s funny Amanda! Ugh, I didn’t even think to go to Costco….and I live literally walkng distance from their door! I paid $15.29 at Target.

  31. on November 19, 2008 at 1:54 pm Amanda

Flamom, we have you beat with HSM3, my kids and I have all seen it 6 times. We are total dorks! Can’t wait until it goes to the dollar movies…….lol

  32. on November 19, 2008 at 1:59 pm mememoi

SIX TIMES?! Wow. I haven’t seen it yet even once. But we have a full week of Thanksgiving break next week (10 days off woo!) and I plan to take LBF to see it sometime then…haha I am so slow.

  33. on November 19, 2008 at 2:27 pm Amanda

You will love it, mememoi, it is so different from the other HSMs. And the soundtrack is fantastic. I especially like ‘Scream’ by Zac Efron and the duet songs with him and Vanessa.

  34. on November 19, 2008 at 3:38 pm sharpld

I have my books and the HSM 3 soundtrack. The book is gorgeous. So far, I have just skimmed it, looking at the photos and section headers. Next I will go back in for a deep dive.

Isn’t Nick facing the wrong way for pp. 80-81?

So many reasons to “squee!” today. I am a happy fangirl.

  35. on November 19, 2008 at 6:28 pm flamom

Amanda, we just got back from seeing HSM3 for the 2nd time. It rocks! I love “Scream” too.

No squeeing for me … no book. Just like with the CD. I really feel neglected!

  36. on November 19, 2008 at 8:51 pm mememoi

Where did you order it from, flamom?

  37. on November 19, 2008 at 9:00 pm sharpld

I have finished my first deep dive into the book.

I have so undersold Joe Jonas. I need some sort of penance for that. Kevin and his quirky self stole my heart first and will always own it, but I find myself carving out more space for Joe when I really pay close attention to him. I am amazed by what makes him tick. That boy runs deep. I really heard his struggle to get people to see that there is more to him than the frontman in just his few pages.

Kevin’s statement about escaping into the music and feeling safe when he plays made me want to hug the stuffing out of him.

And Nick will someday rule the world.

  38. on November 19, 2008 at 9:17 pm flamom

I really really really want to get to know who Joe is. I can’t decide if he is who he seems to be or someone completely different. I feel like I know Nick, and I feel like I’m understanding Kevin more lately. But Joe confuses me.

Anyway, I ordered from Amazon – ugh. That was so stupid. What was I thinking.

Of course, I do have 2 movies I should be watching, and another book. I taped that Adrian Grenier/Melissa Joan Hart movie to watch (I love it) and I even bought Tuff Turf on DVD for old times’ sake (James Spader crush since I was 14 – he was hot!). And I’m reading the Sookie Stackhouse series – I’m on Book 3 …

  39. on November 19, 2008 at 9:18 pm flamom

I agree about Nick. There is nothing he can’t do. I don’t know where all his skills come from, but it’s really superhumanish. He is still a boy – he’d be in 10th grade here in Florida!

  40. on November 19, 2008 at 9:25 pm mememoi

Oh, Sharpld!! YAY!! This is the struggle I try to fight for Joe – what you said about him has always seemed so obvious to me…but everyone seems to think he is just a face, a haircut, a goof, and other shallow things. He might have more shallow FANS, but it’snot his fault he’s gorgeous.

It just burns me more than anything to see girls who say they are Joe fans fawning over him out of one side of their mouth and calling him stupid, etc. out of the other. GRRRR. *emotional ninja*

But he’s awesome! And I am glad the book manages to show that pretty well…DUH! ;)

  41. on November 19, 2008 at 9:46 pm mollyanne

Sharpld- you nailed it. Exactly what I was thinking but didn’t know how to say it. Mememoi, I’ll be your cool ninja sidekick.

  42. on November 19, 2008 at 9:53 pm mememoi

That’s so funny, flamom, Joe makes the most sense to me. I think he is just a searching type of person more than the others, who seem more certain.

Joe seems pretty clear in who he is, like in his love for his family, but I think in other parts of himself he’s just intellectually curious and interested in unfamiliar people and things and places…so in some ways I feel he is constantly changing and think will probably continue to change in ways his brothers don’t and won’t. (For better and for worse, who knows.)

I am just so glad to hear he is reading a lot. LOL. And that he loves Paris…a place that makes you philosophical just by sitting in a cafe and breathing the old air.

I read a lot (way too much maybe) into Joe, but I always have, so the book has me feeling so validated. Heehee. And giddy, apparently.

  43. on November 19, 2008 at 10:11 pm sharpld

Thanks, mollyanne. Sometimes I get my words right. :-)

Mememoi – I read way too much into things too, but that is part of the fun.

Over sifting the media sand to pluck out a rare gem must be one of the diagnostic criteria for OJD. Fortunately for me, there is enough media sand to keep me sifting for a while. Thanks, Guys!

I am frightened to think how many times I will read this book.

  44. on November 19, 2008 at 11:07 pm tlatzotzontli

My book arrived today! I’m very impressed considering I ordered it from Team Jonas just Saturday. I went back and read all the comments on this thread and looked at every one’s favorites. Good choices, btw. :) Now I’m off to start reading. ahhh, so excited.

  45. on November 19, 2008 at 11:44 pm flamom

Everyone cross your fingers for me for delivery tomorrow!

  46. on November 20, 2008 at 3:11 am tlatzotzontli

Here’s to hoping you get the book tomorrow, flamom! In the meantime, enjoy this time, because the book will consume you. hehe.

OK, so I had enough time to read through half of the book. I agree with what everyone has said so far (i.e. the insightful writing, Joe’s explanations of the Polaroids, pp 80-81).

Some of my favorite things so far-

I love that right up front, in the intro, they say “we’re not an ‘act,’ we’re just three brothers from NJ who are living our dream.” It gives the sense that they remain grounded (not that WDT didn’t already know that).

I really fell in love with their writing. It’s so thoughtful, but you can still feel and hear their energy. Especially Joe. I’m totally with everyone here about wanting to read so much into Joe. I really like his story about his friend that was surprised to find out that he had a quiet side. I’m probably the opposite of Joe… 90 percent quiet and 10 percent “off the wall”….but I really connected with that passage because either way people kind of assume that you can only be one way or the other.

And while there are so many pictures to love, so far, at this moment, my favorite Joe picture is the tour bus pic on pp 70. It’s nothing really special at first glance, but he just looks so at ease. Like he’s just relaxing, watching TV or thinking, but it’s really beautiful and intriguing.

OK, one last thing, I love that you can see Nick growing throughout the pages. There are some pictures where he looks really young and then BAM! the next page he’s so grown-up looking and breathtaking. For example, goofy holiday picture with big hair on pp 75 and then incredible smiley picture at the bottom of pp 77.

  47. on November 20, 2008 at 10:07 am mememoi

What a good week it’s been…Joe is getting some respect for something other than his looks and sizzle and Kevin is getting some respect for his looks and sizzle…we all win!!!

As for Nick, it’s all just re-affirmation that he’s awe-inspiring…he doesn’t really have any such battle to fight, LOL.

  48. on November 20, 2008 at 3:01 pm Amanda

I love every single line written, every single photo, but so far, my favorites are:

Page 23 has already been mentioned, but it’s my fav pic of Kevin. Maybe ever.

Page 29–Joe, in his own words, “pouring water over my head and shaking it like a dog”–that sounds so Joe.

Nick’s adorable ‘drum faces’ on page 54.

The three of them on pages 96-97…again, their individual personalities shining through.

Page 118…Kevin sings while he signs autographs so ‘no one will get hurt’. Why couldn’t someone have YouTube’d that?!

The list goes on and on. I may have to buy another copy so I have one to read over and over and one to keep nice. lol

  49. on November 20, 2008 at 4:11 pm flamom

So sweet ladies! I can’t wait to see all this magic for myself.

    (heart)

  50. on November 20, 2008 at 4:23 pm sharpld

Amanda – I think someone did YouTube Kevin at the fence. I think that is where the shot of his bare stomach and his Calvins came from. At least, it looks like it. But I can’t find the video anymore. I can’t remember if the actual singing was caught. I am sure I would have remembered that, because that would have been an epic moment.

  51. on November 20, 2008 at 4:48 pm sharpld

    More favorites:

    Keivn’s quot on p.90.

Nick explaining their process on p. 86 – “all for one and one for all”

Kind of random, but the pic on p. 123 where they are following behind Big Rob and all you can see is his massive back and two little JB fists clutching his shirt. It just depicts the trust they have in him to keep them safe. And kind of confirms what we have speculated about the fear factor. Delusional me thinks there is room for us on the security team.

OK, I will stop. I am sure I am going to have new favorites every day and this will quickly become a painfully long thread.

  52. on November 20, 2008 at 7:46 pm flamom

    I got my book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited! It looks incredible so far! I can’t wait to stare at all the pages.

  53. on November 20, 2008 at 8:18 pm Amanda

Yay flamom!!!!!!! Isn’t it incredible??!! We were just looking at it again, I too love the pic where the boys (or at least 2 of them) are hanging on BR’s shirt. Love the crease in the back of BR’s head lol.

  54. on November 20, 2008 at 8:36 pm mollyanne

Hooray flamom!!!! I’m so excited for you! Now go ahead and SQUEEEEEEEEEE from start to finish!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to hear what you think!

  55. on November 20, 2008 at 10:02 pm flamom

I will let you all know my favorite parts later! Tonight I read all the way through the Frankie Jonas intro section to the kids as their “bedtime story.” LOL!

I loved it! Nick’s section is SO NICK. He really is what he seems to be!

  56. on November 20, 2008 at 11:35 pm flamom

OK, I don’t know where to put this …

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZJQA35Xp90&NR=1

    Have you seen this one?

I just LOVE Nick dancing like that. It’s like his “Burnin’ Up” dance – too cute. It’s what makes me think he channels Justin Timberlake. :)

  57. on November 20, 2008 at 11:38 pm flamom

    OK, something else, sorry!

Does anyone else just Swoon when Nick or Joe touch their diaphragm/stomach/heart area when they sing? OMG I love that.

  58. on November 20, 2008 at 11:40 pm mememoi

Does Nick do that chest-touch too?

    (I am so single-minded, LOL.)

    Yes, I swoon.

  59. on November 21, 2008 at 12:17 am flamom

He touches lower down than Joe does. I love it all! It’s so emotional.

  60. on November 21, 2008 at 12:26 am mememoi

Does Nick go ‘pat-pat’ like Joe does? (LOL!)

  61. on November 21, 2008 at 1:32 am tlatzotzontli

Oh, my. That’s a really cute video, flamom. I love the dancing, too. It makes me think that they would be really fun people to go clubbing with.

  62. on November 21, 2008 at 8:14 am flamom

I haven’t seen him pat pat! But I won’t rule it out!

OK, this book rocks. I read the whole thing! Every word! And it really affected me. I don’t know how much more I could love these guys.

  63. on November 21, 2008 at 10:38 am mollyanne

Yay flamom I’m so happy for you! Yes I swoon too :)

  64. on November 21, 2008 at 11:06 am mememoi

I still haven’t read it deeply…I want an excuse to keep going back.

It’s a lot better than I expected it to be, and they should be so proud of that!! I can’t wait to show it off to our mom and sister. Hehe.

And I totally looked at the book longingly as I left my room this morning, where it’s sitting on the desk. Giving off a slight glow, I think. ;)

    I wish I was 100% joking.

Mine’s on my nightstand. I looked at mine longingly this morning as I left my room too. I’m not joking either. Sigh.

Well ladies, not having to go to work today, I will just have to give the book another going over. lol Each time I look I find something else.

For instance, who can clue me in to what the heck is on page
47? It’s a little naked from the waist down doll or statue or something on the sink. You can see the reverse image of it in the mirror. Anyone know??? Awkward!! Kayla and Brody (my kids) and I had quite a few giggles over it.

Also, just had to comment on pages 80-81, again. Joe’s face is PRECIOUS. And Kev’s too. But why is Nick walking the other way??!! Tongue in cheek?? Doesn’t he know how gorgeous he is??!!

  68. on November 21, 2008 at 11:55 am mememoi

    Here’s my question for pp80-81…

Is the sign telling gorgeous people to go that way, or are you supposed to go that way in order to see other gorgeous people?

  69. on November 21, 2008 at 12:03 pm flamom

Nick is trying to find the sign for serious frugal people LOL!

I agree about the book glowing. :)

My dd keeps trying to take it from me and I am very possessive of it.

My daughter’s copy is on the breakfast bar in the kitchen. Last night, when she was doing her homework (and I was helping) I started flipping through it. She turned and gave me her best Seriously Annoyed Face and said “That’s my book. Go get yours.” And she took the book away from me. I am glad we bought two copies.

I keep flipping through mine, finding little things I missed. You knw what is really sad? The Boys put out so much contnet and I want more, more, more. When do you think OJD will be added to the DSM of Mental Disorders? (I wish I was 100% joking, too.)

Is everyone too embarrassed to comment on my ? re: pg. 47?! lol

Not embarrassed Amanda, I just can’t add anything. It loooks like a doll of some sort that is naked below the waist. I am not sure if it is a toy or a joke soap dispenser?

I finally finished my day’s work (grr, business calls with people in Pacific Standard Time!!) and just got around to looking at the pictures.

I don’t know what that thing is but it does, indeed, seem to be doing its best impersonation of Prince William.

  76. on November 21, 2008 at 6:56 pm flamom

It might be a boy doll? Not sure. I did not notice it.

I am a little ashamed to say that I would not mind another photo book completely filled with the “sultry” poses and faces that fill “Teen” and “Bop.” I’m too old for posters but I like those pics. And I like the closeups. Sorry but it’s the truth!

  77. on November 21, 2008 at 6:59 pm mememoi

Oooh…I am not a fan of those teenybopper mag shots….they are so plasticky for me, and so posey!!

As a family, really, I think we are rabid fans of the unstyled, candid photo…so it does not surprise me that I feel this way about celebrities, too…I think this is just a personal hangup. No need to apologize, flamom. :)

There do seem to be some books that skew that way though, on Amazon!

  78. on November 21, 2008 at 10:18 pm flamom

    Oh, I know I’m juvenile. :)

I like “real” photos too and I love love love this book. But I could definitely use more, and I do like the photo shoots. The kissable pouts and all that. LOL
