The Boys (and the band) give a rooftop performance to TRL on MTV Italy on October 5, 2008. They are considerably more alert than they were for their interview with Radio 105 earlier in the day, and Nick even tosses a pick at the camera at 1:44 (screen-cap above). Very Cute.
Check it out after the jump…

Wow. Lots of stuff to see in this video. Joe is especially dreamy, working the camera well. I think I may have to soon change my adjective for Nick. I think he is rapidly outgrowing “cute” and moving into striking. Kevin is always Kevin, and I heart him so much! I don’t recognize that guitar, though. I wonder how many he has at this point?
There is even a good closeup of Garbo!
They are more alert, which is good. Like I said on the other thread, I am a bit of a mother hen, and I worry about them. But who here doesn’t?
I love rooftop performances! There’s just a real organic and spontaneous feel (even if it is planned). The guys seemed to really enjoy it.
I am really pleased to see the great crowd they drew! And Joe rocking that sweet Happy Days jacket.
Fun fact: I once spent the night sleeping under the big lion statue (with one of my besties) in that very plaza (the piazza del Duomo – the spectacular building beside them)! It was not really planned or enjoyed, just commanded by circumstances of the Italian train system, which goes on strike ALL the freaking time. Ah, teenagerhood, so glad I survived you.
Ah, Just Jared has some supercute official photos of the appearance:

Oh yeah, Nick is more than cute! He was cute when he was 12 and 13. He’s going to move up to “hot” next year LOL!
My DH says maybe Kevin went guitar shopping in Italy … please just tell me Louis Vuitton does not make electric guitars .. please!
LOL…isn’t it one of his special JB logo guitars? I know there was that white one…
Thanks for the link, mememoi! Very cute pics. I love it when Kevin kind of sticks out his tongue when he smiles (pretty sure I saw it in one of those).
I am jealous of the teenaged Italian exploits. I am sure it wasn’t comfortable under the statue, but how fantastically romantic! I was fluent in college, thinking that some day I would travel to Italy, throw coins in Trevi fountain; meet the tall, dark, handsome man of my dreams…. Alas, none of that came to pass. And I have since forgotten most of the Italian I worked so hard to learn.
Flamom – I bet Kevin returns home with double the stuff he took. Fashion capitols of Europe, be ready, K2 is coming!
Sharpld – yes, I was a very lucky little brat back then (Cpaig will support this I am sure)…
AND, it’s never too late. I am sure your Italian will come back to you in a flash if (no, WHEN!) you manage to get over there. Don’t give up, traveling is so worth it. Worth forgoing just about every other luxury in life. I can’t wait to live abroad again…we’ll see!
I get jealous myself when I see the way these boys get to travel, though they work so, SO hard, I am sure they are having great fun taking in the world as they can. I am almost holding my breath to see where the world tour will take them.
Oh, I am so relieved. JB logos make sense. Whew! I was so nervous he had a guitar made up to look like his travel bag! ROFL!
wow! that was amazing, and I loved all the scenery they
were showing. Lucky guys, I sure hope they get their
kodak moments on while their visiting these beautiful
places. speaking of kodak moments KEVIN so looked
very k-ute!!!!
HA, flamom, that would definitely be worrisome!! In any case, methinks Kev might just be our highest maintenance Jonas…
lovngjonasnky – Your comments always make me smile. I think you’re onto something with “k-ute”!
Yeah, as best as I can tell from a very close-up perusal of the photos from my Google alert (a tough job, but someone had to do it) – Kev’s guitar was the JB logo Louis Vuitton-style one he has had since American Idol. He used it on tour also.
I thought it was so cool to see them perform on that gorgeous rooftop with the wonderful building in the background.
I’ll bet they are loving getting the change to perform live again!
1. My daughter Kayla said, “Wow, Nick had his guitar at the beginning of the song, and not at the end! It’s like…so…opposite!” lol
2. Big Rob…’layin’ it down’–love the hand motions he makes!
3. The ‘hawt’ factor is completely off the charts. I’m sweatin’ just watching *rapidly fans self*
They had awesome energy, right?!
I think my favorite in this is at 26 seconds in, when they let the “on my toes” hang in the air and the whole band and audience are silent for that extra moment before they start really playing, and when they do,the crowd goes wild….awesome!!!
p.s. Kayla wants to know if Elvis is staying home with Mom and Dad or are Kevin and Denise in Italy with the boys?
Kayla wants them to know she is available to dog-sit if they need her.
She also is worried that Elvis might have a little doggie stomach ache from missing Nick. I know I would. lol
I am sure Mama and Daddy are with them LOL!
It is GORGEOUS in Milan!! My DH recognizes where they are – I’ve never been anywhere, so I’m so jealous! I’m sure they could use me in some capacity! I could tutor Nick, I could mousse their hair, I could do their laundry – there must be something!
Lol…mousse their hair.
I’m so glad that they are up to something we can all watch and almost be a part of.
it’s been a rough few weeks since the tour ended.
I need my daily dose of jonas!
cpaig-no words can describe how great this is to wake up to. thank you, thank you, thank you! what an awesome dose of jonas.
WOW!!!! That was stunning! What a wonderful thing to come home from work to find!
They looked amazing….their hotness never ceases to amaze me! LOL! They really all looked fabulous. So great everyone got plenty of closeups…I hate it when they focus on one more than the others. And the band was seen more than usual, too! Of course they sounded terrific also!
I think I’ll be re-watching that all afternoon!
And Flamom, if you figure out a way to get us all into the organization, I’ll take any job, too….I’d even pick up their dirty socks! LOL!
Oh, and another thing they need – a shoe shiner. One of us could do that! And someone needs to work on their nails, they have beautiful hands (has everyone noticed? I have!).
Trish, lovin’ the picking up the dirty socks! lol I can barely touch my 15 yr old son’s socks, but somehow, Jonas socks wouldn’t bother me. lol
Even pedicures. I’d be down with pedicures.
ROFL you guys!!! Bring on the Jonas feet!
