Not that we should need reminding, but the Jonas Brothers are a class act.
Following their (perceived?) humiliation (and subsequent vindication – we love you, Jordin!) at the MTV Video Music Awards, the Boys have come out on top, in high spirits, and behaving more maturely than people nearly twice their age.
People reports that Nick said the following in a radio interview on the BBC regarding Russell Brand’s comments:
For us it’s cool to see that he recognizes we are gentlemen.
Gentlemen. That is the understatement of the century.
They say they had fun, and seem to be taking the teasing in stride. I think we should follow their lead (after doing whatever we feel is best in regards to MTV/Viacom)*.
For inspiration towards completing this task I will share with you this radio interview that Kevin, Joe, Nick, and Demi gave this morning to Scott Mills for BBC Radio 1. They are in London for the premiere of Camp Rock (among other things). It is good to hear them being so awesome and relaxed, especially considering all of the hand wringing we have been doing on their behalf for the past 45 or so hours.
Check out proof of their well being, listen to the interview (again) , take a breath, laugh, and come to a happier place in your JB fandom….after the jump.
*They know we’ve got their backs.
Proof they are groggy, but well!
The Boys pose with Demi and Scott Mills on 9.9.08 at BBC Radio 1.
Check out some more pics from their time at the station here.
Part 1
My favorite bits:
- “It depends on what street we’re walking down.”
- “…not everyone’s like that. I promise.”
- Money money money money – MONEY.
- VMAS, meeting Brittany, Michael Phelps, and Li’l Wayne.
- Quality time with Brittany.
- “We should totally work together!”
Part 2
My favorite bits:
- How “camp” is Camp Rock (This bit totally went over their heads, BTW – Scott was doing a bit of cheeky “let’s make slight fun of the Yanks for not knowing British slang” bit. The Guys did a good job taking the word literally. “I would say 8 (as in very campy)” – Joe, “No no, that’s bad. More like 3″ – Kevin (good save!)
- “No! He said it wrong, Nick”
- “Uhhh…..I’m going back to bed.”
- Kevin’s plugging chops.
Oh – and Demi was totally charming too!

Standing ovation for Nick! Once again they prove they are the epitome of class.
I’ve been just sick over this whole thing, so it is nice to hear that they are sounding good and doing well.
I just love the term Nick used – “gentleman.” They are gentlemen, in the “Dr. Laura” type way. They respect women and they don’t use women. They could very easily and they don’t.
Gosh – the girl who wins Nick’s heart and marries him – she is a very very very lucky girl. He is a real prize. I can’t believe he’s 15. How is that possible.
This interview is such a delight. I don’t think I stopped smiling. The Wyckoff bit was hilarious! I also love how Demi was talking about moving there and mentioning that she wanted Mexican food, equating to Taco Bell. It’s not quite the same. hehe
She was very charming.
Mama Jonas must be so proud! Her boys are awsome.
Haha, I thought the same thing about Taco Bell. Cute.
And Nick, up in the middle of the night, totally hyper. Joe just made him sound like a little kid on Christmas Eve or something…that was my highlight! (Would have loved to have seen Nick’s face, though, during the story.)
As I mentioned over on the VMA thread (the longest thread in the history of threads?) I just loved when Joe did his perfect imitation of Nick talking. Joe is a great mimic.
I’m feeling much better tonight than I did last night. This very nice, very THEM interview was just what I needed. They are such professionals, and they never descend to the level of the wannabes around them. Their high road response when questioned about Russel Brand proves that. I feel that their handling of this whole situation will win them respect points for some time to come.
We discerning types for the win!
WDTFTW!
I think you are right, Coolmom, the “They Was Robbed” thread is our longest to date!
And quite the outstanding discussion I might add.
Hah can anyone else imagine Nick, in a dark hotel room with only the tv and computer lighting up his handsome face, sitting on his bed in a football jersey?
The fact that they’re in London, thousands of miles away from the States and still be completely committed to their Monday Night Football…
Well that just assures me that they’re my kind of guys.
P.S. I loved the discussion on Kevin’s (intentional?) plugs… After all, he IS the business man of the three..
He must have a fantasy football team. I bet he does – like, he and J.T., and Ryan have a league. I’d bet $10.
Why else would he be watching at 3 am.
I think they said once that (if they are a fan of any football team) they are Giants fans -if they had to choose. The game last night was between Denver and Oakland.
Maybe Nick has become a Raiders fan. LOL.
Kevin is a master of plugs, promos, soundbites, and station identifications.
He does do it well in conversation, but I love too when he changes up his tone and everything when they go into promo mode.
“I’m Nick, I’m Joe, and I’m Kevin – and we’re the Jonas Brothers…”
You know it, cpaig, Kevin has QUITE the “broadcaster voice” he clicks into when they are doing promos and such. Doesn’t his sincerity just ring through? That’s my guy!
I think it was very cool how the SR community really came together to process the VMA experience. Lots of new people came out and we were able to express our feelings freely and support each other and JB. The salon was ON!
If Nick or any of the Jonas Corporation (including the Boys, the Band, or the Family) is a Raiders fan, I immediately call for an intervention. Affiliation with such a joke to the sport of football is demeaning to the JB.
BTW, my other membership to obsessive fandom belongs to the San Diego Chargers (forgive me as that was my inner-linebacker coming out)
Never forget: I’m Kevin Jonas, and I’d like to sell you a car!
And coolmom – I totally agree. It was so comforting to be able to band together!
And speaking of WDTFTW! and promoting stuff (sort of) I am opening a little Cafepress swag store for SiblingRevelry…because I wanted to make myself a SR tank top with that slogan on it…
I am going to post a link with the other buttons at the top tonight. Keep an eye out!
So in case anyone else is interested (or has a design idea you’d like us to generate – I started with really minimal basics!)…there will be stuff available at Cafepress-cost (meaning, we don’t make any profit off of it, even if they do…). We’ll see if we get yanked for using their likenesses…
I actually watched the 2007 full Live Chat again this week while wringing my hands … They do claim the Giants, cpaig.
I enjoy watching Kevin shift personas. His voice is as expressive as his face and I love it: happy Kevin, excited Kevin, business Kevin, big brother bossy Kevin … each is different and completely Kevin at the same time.
Coolmom – the salon was on! It was wonderful to be able to talk to all of you about the VMAs (and everything else we talk about here) intelligently and respectfully and honeslty.
SR rocks and pwns all other JB blogs. Can I say that?
Yes, yes you can!
I totally want a WDTFTW shirt! I’m excited.
I agree with sharpld. SR rocks! What would JB fandom be like without it? Not nearly as much fun.
mememoi, the merch looks awesome! I can’t wait to sport my shirt and have someone ask me about it.
Kinda random question, but since when are there doubleheaders for Monday Night Football? I guess it was special for the season kickoff. Vikings also played at Green Bay so Nick could have been watching that game as well.
Anyone else super curious as to what team’s jersey Nick was wearing? ; )
Didn’t they get Eagles’ jersey’s? And Penn State when they played there? Maybe he was wearing one of those.
Maybe. Good thought!
Maybe he was watching a Penn State Game.
Regardless of what jersey it was, I just find it incredibly amusing that the kid decided to rock a football jersey while watching a football game from a hotel room in London in the middle of the night.
I am assuming the football game inspired the jersey wearing. Ya gotta wonder what that thought process was!
It was cute that Joe said he’d never even seen the Jersey before, though. So it couldn’t be the ones they got from the Eagles, or Penn State? Unless Joe was joking.
Loved his mimic of Nick’s voice, too…my daughter said it was like when Nick was in the helicopter during the live blogging event, Kev and Joe were sacked out and Nick was all hyper. So adorable. Too much diet Dr Pepper, perhaps?!
p.s. I am totally embarrassed, but since I came to SR not so very long ago, someone tell me what WDTFTW means?!
I love the merch, I am totally going to rock a tshirt. I bought a tank top for my daughter on Cafe Press from jonashq.org that is plain white, with ‘Nick For President’ inbetween red and blue lines. It came today, she adores it!
Don’t be embarrassed! It is a little obscure I guess.
Coolmom once referred to us as “we discerning types”, since we are adults that have managed not to act allergic to the Boys and their music. We know they are a real band worth respecting, on top of being adorable and loveable. So – WDT.
Add FTW – “for the win”, which you see around the internets maybe half as much as LOL…
And you get the battle cry we use when we feel like we’ve had a JB triumph…”WDTFTW!” – to show we’ll support the band, and always do our best to straighten out the haters and spread the JB love, in our way.
If that even makes sense? I probably over-explained it. Sorry.
No, mememoi you explained it perfectly.
I love it! And I love SR! And I love you guys! And I love the boys! WDTFTW!
Here’s some eye candy for ya…the boys in London…Joe looks sleepy but they all look delicious.

Back at you Amanda. And what is so cool is how many “discerning types” there are! Lots and lots, isn’t is great that we have a place to hang together?
It’s great – yay, lovefest!! But seriously, you guys really are making my day/night/fandom.
Love the picture too, Amanda…they look precious – hope London is treating them well!
I am deciding now! I think I’m getting the white V-neck. This is amazing – thank you!! I so appreciate you ladies!
Awesome – and we appreciate you, flamom – and all of you too; everyone brings something unique to the table and to me, it’s ideal.
BTW – if there is some t-shirt configuration you want but don’t see…like you’d like the image or text to be in a color or it’s not front and back or whatever…let me know. Adjustments are possible!
Off to get my tank top, then…
I’m so excited!
Yes, this is the most awesome place EVER. Funny, I’ve lurked and read the blogs for a while but it never occurred to me to click on the comments until I was so angry over the VMA’s….I was looking for a place to express my opinion without being ridiculed as I was by some random teen on a ‘fansite’. (*insert rolling eyes here*) Unbelieveably, some people who call themselves “fans” thought the whole VMA thing was funny and no big deal. OK, I’ll save my ranting for the other thread….
Anyway, thanks for the picture link Amanda – yes, they look amazing as usual!
Sharpld – I, too, notice that about Kevin all the time! I adore him and all his personas!
“we are adults that have managed not to act allergic to the Boys and their music” LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this quote! Thank you!
The CafePress merch is great! I think I will have to get a shirt or a mug.
Goal for the next tour: one of us somehow has to get one of these shirts to the boys! haha. Do you think throwing it on stage would work?
I agree that this blog is an awesome find. I really haven’t found anything like it – and I’ve been looking for quite some time. I lurk a number of message board simply for news, photo and video links, etc., however this is the only JB community of sorts in which I’ve ever decided to jump in on the conversations.
The message boards that I lurk make me feel so incredibly grateful that I am no longer a teenage girl ; P What some of those poor girls put themselves through for these boys.
I agree Mae – and the attitude and behavior of some of the girls makes me cringe! My daughter is 14 and even she shakes her head at a lot of these girls! LOL….then again, she is homeschooled so it’s like she is from a different planet! But it’s nice because it allows us the freedom to share in this wonderful Jonas-mania together.
seeing this post and reading this thread is really getting my day off to a great start. Their reaction to the VMAs showed true class and also that they have that youthful ability to roll with things.Your analysis of the radio interview was spot on. My favorite part was the “how camp is camp rock” bit. So cute that they started thinking in terms of bunks and bugs,
I know that Nick once mentioned in an interview that he was a Cowboys fan but I did also see the more recent interview where he mentions the Gants. But I agree that it’s fun to wonder….
I so hear you on being glad not to be a teenager, as well. It’s intense.
And Cpaig – I love that you titled/linked “Take A Breath” in the post – I hadn’t listened to it for a while, and with summer winding down, and things somewhat stressful…it’s PERFECTION.
My daughter is 13, and she also gets annoyed at the girl’s comments on some of the other fansites. She refers to them as “fake fans” or “newbies” since they haven’t been fans from the beginning like she has – ha!
Boy, the JB/Russell Brand/Jordin Sparks situation has certainly stirred the pot on the purity ring/abstinence issue. Did anyone see the report on the Today Show yesterday, or the CNN (Showbiz Tonight) report last night? Both reports were pretty supportive of JB, although the Star editor said he was pretty sure JB would not remain virgins until marriage – ugh! what a creep. I bet JB is kind of glad they are out of the country for all this!
I just have to say the second picture on the top of the SR page with Kevin hugging Joe in the parka makes me giggle every time I see it!
