We, that is Mememoi and I, are just a day away from seeing our last Jonas Brothers show for the summer. This one should be extra fun. We are taking LBF, our mother (who is a bit of a Jonas cynic), and our older sister, who is a new fan. We’ll be sure to tell you how it goes.
But, I am already beginning to feel sad. I have no idea when we might see them in concert again. Looking back on our “Year of Jonas” we have seen them approximately every 3 months (December, March, May, July, August) with increasing frequency. Now that the tour is drifting beyond our reach (and coming to an end) I am starting to panic. We have even been (kinda, sorta, not really, but totally) trying to negotiate a trip across the pond to see them in London on September 11 (Yeah, we wish). So what are we supposed to do now, with no known concert waiting for us?
I take solace in the fact that they will hopefully get the break they so deserve (even if it is only a break from touring and not work) and that they come back to see us soon.

Wow, cpaig, I had no idea you’d seen them that many times. I’m completely jealous. We’ve seen them twice (February & July) and probably no hopes for another, unless they tour the US again soon and come anywhere within a few states of Idaho.
I’ve still been obsessing over album reviews and I had to respond again, to a reviewer who said Nick seemed “…bored and bothered with the task of being adored…”. I set him (the reviewer) straight.
I told him that Nick was very focused on stage, etc. He actually replied back to me and said that he hoped that once Nick got some more ‘large-venue’ experience, that he’d be able to loosen up on stage and have more fun.
The reviewer did say that he was impressed with all JB have achieved so far. That was nice.
That was definitely nice of the writer. I think Nick is great on stage. Maybe he was having a bad day (Nick that is).
I have had to put myself on bit of a review moratorium because people say things just to be mean – like they want to make sure people know they haven’t been sucked into the who “Jonas” thing. Whatever.
I know we have seen them lots, not all of those were large scale concerts one was a Verizon in-store, and one was a 25 minute set at one of those shows put on by a radio station.
I know we are lucky and some people haven’t had the opportunity to see them as often (the joys of living on the eastern seaboard), but I just hope we get a chance to see them again soon.
Yup, it feels like the end of another era…and so much has changed this year!

Amanda – I know what you mean! But some of these reviewers are never going to care enough to understand, and will continue to talk smack! Grrr.
Plus, I think Nick has a tendency not only to BE serious, but to think that looking thusly makes him appear cooler. (He may be right, with that baby face.) But he’s 15! And they can’t all be goofy grinners like Joe & Kev.
wow….so sad!! Lets hope they rest up and come out like fire again!

You can comfort yourself with the knowledge that I only saw them twice … once opening up for HM and once with sad, crying, miserable kids. So those were not ideal experiences. I can’t even see them in WPB on the 5th.

They will be on TV at least twice in September! The VMAs and then DWTS on the 24th!
I’m totally okay with Nick and his seriousness. I rather like it! Of course I like everything about him and have absolutely no criticism, so …

Ie. Amanda – we have never met nor greeted the Boys! And I am also annoyed that I blew off their free show at Penn’s Landing in Philly last July because it was stormy in the morning, humid in the afternoon. It was the day they shot the first “Nick Jonas Show”…I could’ve known in my heart that I had seen them THAT VERY DAY. CURSES FOREVER.
keenan – we’re seeing them in Camden…which is sort of the big Philadelphia amphitheater venue…but in New Jersey. It’s for the whole Tri-State area really (since we can’t forget Delaware…which is us!!!!)
Mememoi, true, my daughter and I can take solace in the fact that we have actually touched/hugged/seen them face to face. We will treasure that 10 seconds for the rest of our lives!
I will always regret, however, when the boys opened for Aly & AJ here in Boise three or so years ago and I didn’t even know who they were then. Sob, sniff… and my daughter had wanted to go see A&A but my hubby and I were out of town and Grandma wouldn’t take her…what could have been, what might have been….
OK, we have obviously never met them, and I really can’t imagine we ever will. I could have seen them more close up at Verizon before the HM concert but I could not go there and then go to HM. So I did not see them there. It was a madhouse. I don’t do madhouse well.
Also I joined the fan club and have rec’d nothing. The people at the fan club wouldn’t answer my question about ordering the CD and the adding the Premium membership so I only have the regular membership. I feel neglected and ignored. I have no idea where my money went.
If I could not get tickets for the show on Sept 5, what are the chances I’ll get tickets for any show in the future. I was just lucky in getting the HM tickets.

And heck, they were right in my town playing at this tiny amphitheatre back in 2006. But of course I never heard of them at that point. So I can’t do anything about that.
Also … what is the DEAL with MySpace??? Why aren’t they updating their blog? It’s so frustrating!
I’m sorry flamom, I think my Team Jonas CD was the one that just showed up around Aug. 21st or so. WAY after the release date. That’s all I’ve gotten from them, the CD and the bonus DVD. No ‘extras’…yet.

I am glad we didn’t get tickets to the BOBW show because I think if we had we wouldn’t have gone to that in-store – which was so special.
I wish we could have gotten tix to the MSG show, but I really can’t complain about seeing them, just not knowing when I am going to see them again.

OK, I think I have to win the Saddest Case of Jonas Deprivation Award, because I have never seen them live and have never met them. But I take solace in being only separated from meeting them by one degree (thanks Amanda, love your’s and your daughter’s t-shirts by the way), and separated from seeing them live also by one degree (thanks to ALL of you).
I totally get what you said about the reviewers not wanting to appear like they’re jumping on a bandwangon, cpaig. You can always tell when their mind was closed from the beginning. Bah!
I love this picture also. “Can’t Have You” is SUCH a good song. It’s Sugar’s new fav, she has re-named it “The Goodbye Song”. When I asked why she liked it, she said:
“Because it makes me feel so sad, but it makes me feel so cool. I love when Nick and Kevin echo what Joe sings.”

Coolmom, I can’t pick a favorite, I love every track on the album, but ‘Can’t Have You’ does something to me, too. I have to choke back the tears every time I hear it. When Nick goes high “….but I gave everything that I had left…” OMJ it’s incredible.
And then he sings so soft and low and whispers…yikes, I get chills just thinking about it.
Then the very next line all I can picture is the three of them striding purposefully together out to the end of the catwalk.
Ok, now I’ve got myself all worked up. Hehe. Wonder what my hubby is up to?!!!

We have been burned by traffic too often now (and it’s a school night for LBF, who just started kindergarten!)…so we are going to try to outsmart the system, park on the Philly riverfront and take a quick ferry to the venue and back! Let’s just hope the other 25,000 people are not also doing this…
