Busy is not the word.
The Boys successfully negotiated a jam packed schedule on one coast and then leapfrogged Middle America and did it again on the other.
Monday we were on the TONIGHT SHOW with Jay Leno. Ben Stiller was on the show with us. He is so funny. Hope we get to work with him someday. The performance was outside and the crowd was crazy.
We went from there to SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE where we filmed for the finale tomorrow night.
Tuesday we flew to New York and visited some friends at their concert at the Knitting Factory. They killed it. Saw a lot of friends.
We also released our new song, A LITTLE BIT LONGER, on ITunes. It was our fastest song to reach Number 1! Thanks again.
Today we had a BIG PRESS CONFERENCE concerning A LITTLE BIT LONGER and Nick’s DIABETES. We really hope that this will help make a difference in people’s lives.
Tonight’s show in Baltimore was unbelievable. So amazing to be able to sing our songs for all of you.
Tomorrow is one of our favorite cities…BOSTON! Can’t wait.

They forgot to mention blowing off Larry King for Ryan Seacrest , and Nick and Denise appearing on Fox and Friends to talk about Juvenile Diabetes. All this as they count down to the release of A Little Bit Longer on Aug. 12.
Still on the docket are shows in Boston and NYC and an appearance on Good Morning America tomorrow, and Regis and Kelly on Tuesday.
Click through the jump to see Nick’s amazing speech from the press conference, and the Boys performing “Tonight” on the Tonight Show!
I will take this opportunity to say that I think Nick Jonas is an amazing person. To take the chance to help so many people by being open and honest about his diabetes is amazing. The story the Jonas family tells is very powerful and not only helps those dealing with a new diagnosis, but inspires people living with Type 1 Diabetes to live a healthy lifestyle so they can live their fullest life.
I know we tend to neglect Nick (because we think his awesomeness goes without saying most of the time). He does have a tendency to come off as “too cool for school” sometimes, but talking about something as personal as your health to thousands of people most every night and literally exposing the tools that help you live is showing a vulnerability and openness of spirit most of us will never achieve. He is 15, and carrying so much on his shoulders.
The press Nick and family have done this week in conjunction with the release of A Little Bit Longer goes hand in hand with a new partnership with Bayer and their new marketing campaign for their blood glucose meter. They have created a wonderful website with Nick. Check it out, it is pretty awesome.
OK, on to happier things (I thought that was important so I put it at the top).
more about “Tonight Show Concert Series: Jonas Br…“, posted with vodpod
Also this week we saw an increase in coverage of non-tween Jonas fans (yay)! You gotta love this quote from Maria Krovatin of Entertainment Weekly’s Popwatch Blog:
… I found a mathematical equation for the strange feelings that began to take root at the pit of my stomach: cute, talented boys (who love their mom) + curly locks x philanthropic work = massive and uncontrollable crush.
Ahh, ain’t it the truth.
[Jonas Brothers Official MySpace, BOPtv (YouTube), The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, JBF]

What happened with Larry King? I was so excited for it, and so disappointed they were not on.
JBF said that they (the JB) canceled due to “scheduling conflicts”
I saw conflicting dates anyway 8/5, 8/15..
I have no idea what happened.
Best collage yet, cpaig!
Hear, hear on applauding Nick for his generosity in sharing his daily struggle so that others will have someone to model. He is SO mature that we sometimes forget how hard it would be to show your vulnerabilities to so many at such a young age. He is a an exceptional person, for so many reasons.
I got a charge out of the Popwatch article, I even commented there.
The “Tonight” performance is HOT! I love it more every time I see it.
FYI, there is a fun video of the guys performing “Burnin’ Up” in the plaza outside KissFM. It’s VERY close up, and Big Rob even raps! http://www.Vimeo.com/1479049
W00T! Thanks Coolmom! It (obviously) took me some time today.
Hey wow! My first link! I didn’t know all you had to do was type in the address. Do I feel sheepish?
Did anyone watch them on So You Think You Can Dance?
Amanda did, she talked about it in the Open Thread. I haven’t seen it yet.
I watched So You Think. They looked great – I don’t quite get the “bowtie” but Nick rocks it as well as anyone could.
Joe had a headwrap around his forehead under his hair – unusual but cute. Kevin looked great – he is getting better every time I see him lately. His hair looks particularly nice lately.
The performance was very good but compared to other performances of Burning Up I have seen, it was kind of non-energetic (except for Kevin – he was as frisky as ever). Nick was a little subdued and Joe seemed kind of tired. They weren’t jumping around together so much as they usually do. My husband noticed. He thought Joe was tired.
Oh, and Joe looked thin – like he lost weight. My husband said it was the vest he was wearing – that it was “slimming” – but his legs also looked thinner. I wonder if he is losing weight on the road, I would not be surprised.
All in all, I am really hoping that after September 5 they allow themselves to sleep in and take a well deserved rest. And take care of themselves.
To quote Coolmom, ‘it makes my stomach hurt’ when I think about Joe losing weight, Nick going low on stage last Saturday, etc. Did you ladies read that one? Nick was able to tell his brothers via the stage mike or something and then go off-stage for (conflicting stories, here) insulin, orange juice or regular soda, while Joe read signs in the crowd and chatted with the crowd. Nick claims he was only ‘bad’ for a minute, but Joe kept talking with the crowd for 5 minues. Go, Joe.
I agree Flamom, much as I would like to see them in concert again, I want them to REST. I know they’re workaholics, but they need to slow down!
I hear you ladies, they need to take care of themselves. But, singing and dancing in the summer heat is a sure-fire weight loss method. They can’t help but lose some water weight, LOL.
My take on So You Think. . .performance is that is was taped, therefore not as energetic. Who knows who the crowd was, maybe some random crowd fillers. Taping for TV is a weird, stop-start pseudo-reality. Not the best venue for JB to perform how they usually do.
About Nick’s “low”, I AM concerned. I’m ignorant, how much does stress play into diabetic highs and lows? And the grueling schedule they’ve got with the CD release – I hope Nick isn’t pushing himself too hard.
I can tell you from experience that stress can cause blood sugar to drop quickly.
I can also tell you from experience that if he was back on stage in less than 5 minutes it was not a bad low (or high). He prob just was getting a little low (or high) and needed a boost ( or an insulin adjust) so he wasn’t in crisis.
Trust me, my hubby has passed out before (so scary) and when he is really low it takes from 15 to 30 minutes for him to feel normal again.
Thank you for answering cpaig, I can only imagine how scary that must be for you and your husband.
It seems like Nick’s episode was relatively minor, since he carried right on with the show. He has probably figured out a “range” under/over which he doesn’t want to go, and he reacts cautiously.
What I heard was that Nick felt ‘weak’ so that would be a low, right? I don’t know much about diabetes but a few friends at work are insulin-dependent. It IS scary. I have one friend that doesn’t manage it well at all and is ‘low’ a lot. She scares me, she gets really confused and cries a lot when she’s low.
I wish with all my heart that Nick didn’t have to deal with this.
Anyone catch Good Morning America this morning? I was annoyed with Robin Roberts (the anchor), apparently because she didn’t know their individual names she called Joe ‘the one in the middle’ and she introduced the song ‘SOS’ as a ‘blast from the past’ making it sound like the songs was 20 years old.
She also said something like, “…I know you have a reality show coming up…” as if Living the Dream hadn’t aired yet. I really hate it when interviewers are clueless.
Just saw a commercial for JB on MTV, too, I thought the blogging/video-ing this afternoon and tomorrow was going to be an on-line thing but seems like it’s on TV? Not sure.
cpaig, I wish with all my heart your hubby didn’t have to deal with diabetes, either. I wish no one did. My daughter has personally raised over $250 so far for diabetes research. She encourages all her friends to donate and she wears a diabetes medic alert necklace that we had engraved with “In Support of Nick J” on the back.
