The (Other) Boys in the Band. [Awesome]

Hey, there. We seeeeee you. Especially you, John Taylor, all trying to hide.

I always raise an eyebrow slightly when the Jonas Brothers are referred to as a musical “trio”. Of course, they could be one, as anyone who has seen an acoustic set of theirs knows; plus the 3 brothers are the creative force and the collective face of the group. But if you’ve been to a concert or heard a recording, you know as well as I that there are other (backing) band members. If you’ve been paying attention, you also know they didn’t just pop in as filler for a gig…they’ve been around for the long haul.

They’re awesome. Here’s some information about the guys pictured above (left to right, excluding Joe - FOR ONCE!):

• Jack “Flawless” Lawless: Drums. And…um…mystery (I got nothing. Well played, Mr. Lawless).

• Gregory “Garbo” Garbowsky: Bass Guitar. Jersey Boy. Phenomenal (former! *sob*) blogger. Former(?) YouTube actor.

• John “JT” Taylor: Guitar. Keyboards. By some accounts he is the band’s musical director (go on, JT!). Apparently from Pennsylvania. His MySpace has some great solo stuff on it (I recommend “Karen”).

Pictured below (2nd from the right, with the band plus the inimitable Barry Gibb, in the center) is Ryan Liestman, newcomer on keyboards (new to the JB, not to music), who may or may not have been around just for the WYLMITE Tour. Somehow I doubt that will be the last we see of him.

Sometimes I think the members of the band have the ideal jobs…a significant part in all of the mania, and hopefully professional recognition and respect, but with so little of the pressure of fame.

But, is it cold there in their shadows? Well, whatever way, they’re the wind beneath their wings.
